    Great scones...
    Matt M.

The best way to start your day on Whidbey Island is with a scone from Jupiter Coffee!!!Fresh out of the oven at home is the best way to enjoy. The varieties are endless . Stop by Tuesday - Saturday and pick up a bag or two of scones...

The service was fast and friendly, the atmosphere is great, and the coffee and scones are delicious. There were so many types of scones and they have packs of 4 that you can take home as well as coffee for sale. Definitely worth the stop!

We were visiting Whidbey Island for the weekend and needed a caffeine fix. My husband and I ordered Americanos and were delighted to see they had gluten free scones since my husband is celiac. We got a gf blueberry peach scone and a marionberrry scone. Both were absolutely delicious but I did prefer the blueberry peach slightly more due to the lack of seeds. The scones are deliciously sweet and crispy with almost a shortbread like flavor. Definitely a bit of a decadent treat but well worth the calories.

Went around 11:30 on a busy Saturday, but service was quick and friendly. We tried the peach blueberry and chocolate cinnamon scones, and I had a lavender iced latte. Everything was INCREDIBLE!! Sad to have missed the breakfast biscuits, but that just means I have to come back!

This spot is an incredible find! Every person working there is so friendly, attentive, and just seems so happy to be working there. The baked goods selection is wonderful, with an array of scone options for only $4 (I chose a dark chocolate cinnamon scone and was not disappointed). I couldn't believe the affordable prices for the coffee ($3 for a latte?! Is this 2010?!), which tasted great. The space isn't huge, so you may not be able to find a seat if it's busy, but there is a back room with additional seating. Do yourself and this lovely business a favor by checking it out!

    Great coffee, friendly vibes

Used to be my go-to spot for coffee and breakfast sandwich but quality & quantity has decreased…read moreover the past year. I continued to give it a chance until they updated their menu board and completely removed prices from their menu a month ago, while the price has increased. That just feels wrong. There's more transparent ways to increase prices.

It's ok for coffee, and the service is friendly. That's the star. But the food is really bad. And…read morewhile there's lots of seating and power outlets for charging, they're mostly unused. Why? This is a business in a state of decay. About a decade ago, this would have been pretty posh. But now the chairs are worn, the walls need paint, the signage that says, "Crabby Coffee" is literally falling off the wall. The chalkboard "specials" sign has been erased and rewritten so many times, the margins are caked with chalk dust, and apparently the employees who write the specials don't even notice that the sign reads "Coffee of the Day" at the top; immediately under this they wrote: "Roast beef and pepper jack with brown gravy...". Unless that IS the coffee of the day. Ew. Then there's the "atmosphere "... There was a tv blasting the news at a volume just over comfortable conversation level, and a group of older people napping or reading in the area around it, like campers around a fire (and of course, that requisite "one guy" who must have an even louder conversation with the television, barking an endless nonsensical commentary regarding anything on the screen that he disagrees with, which is, evidently, everything). This group occupies the only comfortable seating in the main area. Anyone doing work or wanting less noise is exiled to the far reaches of the space, away from this bunch. It wouldn't take much to reclaim this cafe from the dust heap. First: lose the TV. Then, re-focus on food quality and do a light remodel, followed with promotions aimed at folks who need a place to work remotely, like entrepreneurs, students and businesspeople. But I'm not sure the impetus is there...nor the required customer demographic. It might not be their fault- maybe these are the only customers they can attract. I mean: There's a reason they offer three kinds of soup. A local group of old folks have seized this cafe as their personal social perch, perhaps because the other local cafes (that actually need to turn tables) asked them to move on. I don't know. Although I believe everyone should have somewhere to go and hang out, no matter their age, this particular group is very unwelcoming, appraising anyone that comes through the door and looking askance at those who dare venture close to their occupied territory. It's killing this business dead. Not even vaguely recommended unless you've no other place to go. Or you like hanging out with the "get off my lawn" crowd.

We eat a lot of avo toast and have come to expect it is often overpriced, but this was an exceptional rip off and not at all enjoyable. One thin piece of bread, invisible layer of the supposed sun dried tomato spread. The avocado might have been the store bought prepackaged mashed avo guac. If that wasn't actually it, it definitely tasted like that. Then two small cherry tomatoes and some seeds on top. They didn't serve the toast with the sea salt or olive oil as stated on the menu - when we asked about the toppings (because it tasted super bland), it was a very rude and dismissive response: "the tomato spread is on there. It's really thin. And - so what, you want some olive oil and salt!!??". Like we were so out of line for wanting what it said the toast came with....this was also $15 avo toast. You can make it way better at home for $4. While the other food and the space were good, this overshadowed as a bummer experience that would make us think twice before returning.

Not only do I look forward to the gardens right next door but I crave the menu at flower house cafe. I am quite obsessed with the London fogs and the variety of flavored tea bag options they have. My top favorite are the peanut brown butter cookie, the almond croissant, the ham and cheese croissant, and the raspberry cheese croissant. Every time I've gone the staff has been very helpful, welcoming, and joyful. The environment is such a vibe and the surrounding plants and water features are the icing on the cake. The mocha and cookie were just okay for me. Our cookie tasted a little dry and stale, and the mocha leaned too milky. But honestly, the London fog and the whole atmosphere made up for it. The people working there were friendly too. I'd still come back for the vibe alone.
