I stopped by this lovely coffee shop while in the Westerly area thanks to the recommendations from some awesome Yelpers! The Junque N Java is situated in a nondescript little strip mall. Quite the gem! They have high barstools overlooking the counter and windows. Sofa chairs to relax and catch up on your favorite novel. Small tables and chairs to set your laptop on and get some work done. Even some quaint outdoor patio seating by the fire. I ordered a pumpkin muffin and a hot vanilla latte. Which was brewed and mixed with just the right amount of sweetness and cream to my liking! The pumpkin muffin was moist and fluffy. Yum. They had a wide selections of sandwiches, coffee flavors, gelatos, pastries, quiches and some healthy fan fare for those health conscious folks! If I'm ever in the area again, I'd make sure to swing by Junque N Java for a little pick me up. read more

This place is a gem! It's a nice unique little place to get yummy coffee drinks. I stopped by the other day because I had an extra few minuted before a Dr.'s appointment. I order a decaf (yes decaf, sadly some of us cannot enjoy regular coffee due to previous heart surgeries) cappuccino. The espresso was delish, I'm a little disappointed with the temperate of it, it was too cool for my liking. I like my coffee piping hot and that's what I expected. I honestly have no idea how the perfect cappuccino is supposed to be served temp wise, so yeah. I could be totally off here, but I like it really hot, it wasn't. Still a great drink though. I didn't have achance to try anything else but plan to go back. read more

The atmosphere of this little cafe is very comforting and warm. This is a great place for highschool students to do homework, which I have seen many times. Their menu has a very large selection and nothing I have tried is short of delicious! Great cannolis as well! With a warm and inviting staff, this is the place to go during all seasons! read more

We go to Watch Hill about once a summer and this is a great stop on the way (about a 2-hour drive from Western, Mass, so no, we don't usually visit more often). Get a coffee, grab a sweet or savory pastry, take a pee, then hit the beach. Nice atmosphere, funky and sweet. Great staff. I did buy an herb and cheese scone that needed more time in the oven, but I'll def go back here. I'd love to try some of the very interesting healthy tea drinks that are on the board and maybe even stop for a sit-down snack. Reasonable prices, too. read more

The coffee here is outstanding. The seasonal drinks are delicious as well. I always look forward to their fall lineup. The pastry's are very tasty as well. The only downside is the limited seating. It's so busy all the time that we often have to sit on the patio. That's fine in the warmer weather but impossible in the winter. I love coming to Junk and Java and my coworker and I often stop by to get a little caffeine boost and have lunch. I normally bring my lunch and today I asked the cashier if she wouldn't mind heating it up for me. She gave me a nasty look and said, "only if it doesn't have onions or anything that will stink up the place." I told her I had chicken risotto and she said it was okay. She went into the back so I followed assuming the microwave was in the back. She came back out and ignored me. I then asked a man who worked there and he went ahead and heated up my food. He announced it was done and the whole staff proceeded to laugh at me. I felt really uncomfortable and embarrassed for asking if they could simply heat up my lunch for me. Love this local coffee spot! All Covid precautions taken, with take-out, outdoor seating (at a distance of course) and lately indoor as well. Love the drinks and the baked goods; best pistachio muffins ever! Also love the new drinks based on the seasons and current conditions (the Dr. Fau-Chi and the Pumpkin Java and Candy Corn Cappucino. Really disappointed with this place in multiple aspects. Decor and ambiance is great, but 2 coffees, a muffin, cinnamon roll, and a breakfast sandwich took about 45 mins to receive. Hot coffee was luke warm, iced coffee was melted. Cinnamon roll was stale. Small coffee was $4.50. It would have been smarter to buy a lb of coffee for $5 and just make a cup at home. It's been 5 hours since I left the coffee shop and I believe I have food poisoning. Really disappointed read more

It has quaint, cozy seating areas (including a giant chess table!); an assortment of delicious coffee drinks, both hot and cold; an extensive array of Harney's teas; and the best, hand-filled cannoli known to man! My favorite coffee place around! I come a few times a week and the staff is always friendly, accommodating and welcoming. They take the time to know they're regulars. I love the seasonal menu. My fiance and I love the sausage,egg and cheese on a cheddar chive biscuit. Plus most coffee places have stamp cards where it's buy 10 get one free this is buy 5 get one free. This place is very cute with a nice (small) coffee house atmosphere. They also have some outside seating. The menu offers many different speciality coffees and teas as well as bake goods. However, I went in with my daughter and she was anxious to try the home made gelato. I purchased a specialty coffee which was wonderful, the gelato was $4.50 for a (half of a scoop.) My daughter mentioned to the young lady she did not request a child size portion. The young lady that waited on us replied, it is difficult to scoop, sorry. My point being, maybe skip the gelato for the portion and the price. read more

This is a new shop. I had the Chicken and Broccoli torta and it was great. My wife had the quiche, which she also enjoyed. They also offer soup, salad, belgian waffles, espresso drinks and Italian sodas. The owner was working and said they will be offering ice cream in the summer and out door seating. They offer free wi-fi. The "junque" part of the name is for the home decor and consignments sold in the front of the store. read more

This little gem opened in my neighborhood two weeks ago, and I have been going there regularly since. I have written elsewhere about the lack of kick-ass coffee-shops in the area, and I can say with confidence that this place is pretty kick-ass from multiple perspectives. Although I am not a coffee aficionado--(I'm a recovering coffeeholic)--I can definitely vouch for the quality of products Junque N Java provides, as many of the food items I have tried there are surprisingly fresh and delicious. Word on the street is that the soups and mac-n-cheese are from a company outside of Boston called Kettle Cuisine, and they certainly deliver on the flavor. I have heard some interesting things about the waffles as well, but being a non-sweet eater, I will take their word for it. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and if you close your eyes and listen to the well selected indie/alternative music playing (softly) from the speakers, you can imagine you are home visiting your family for the weekend, and whatever you might need will be provided with love and care. Bottom line is, this place is not in town, and as a result, some folks might pass it over without noticing its undeniable charm. I tell you, Junque N Java is the closest thing to an actual coffee-shop in Westerly, and the town would be ill-advised to not take notice of such a quaint, special little place. My wife and I drove an hour to get here from Providence, but it was worth it. We needed a comfortable space to sit and get some work done, and as much as I love so many cafes in Providence, we heard this place was new and good and decided to make a day trip out of it. We both got an iced double caramel latte. Ordering the same thing made us feel very married and old. We're officially an elderly couple, and at the ripe age of 26. Anyway, the lattes were delicious. The space inside is charming. The amenities are nice--and, besides good coffee, isn't that what you want in a cafe? Free wifi, big tables, calm atmosphere, plenty of electrical outlets (and USB outlets, which was nice too since I'm an idiot and didn't charge my phone again and my wife asked me why I do that so often and oh my god we're such an old married couple.) One of the tables has a novelty-size chess board on it, and they have pieces to play chess or checkers on it. Some day, when we're both actually old, we'll come here because it will be the only chess set we can see with our old-as-hell eyes. We didn't buy anything at the Junque portion of the shop, but there seems to be a lot of charming items here for a reasonable price. As for pastries and treats, they have rice krispy squares, oranges, muffins, bagels, cheese danish. Good stuff. Come eat here. read more

My favorite coffee shop in RI!! Every time I'm Westerly I make sure to stop in (and send out a boasting snapchat to all of my friends of my iced vanilla chai with almond milk) . Not only is the shop cute to boot, the staff is friendly and the menu is unique and diverse. They have a great rewards program for every five drinks you buy, you either get one free or 2 dollars off of a specialty drink. Everything from their healthy protein shakes, to chocolate muffins, to iced vanilla chai's, iced green teas, affogato's, gelato (the list is endless) are delicious! I've never had a bad experience! It's the perfect place to get your morning caffeine fix, your afternoon pick-me-up, or your after work socializing. A Westerly gem! I seriously hope they franchise one day (hint hint: to Providence). read more

I was searching the area for a cool place to go on a coffee blind date. Junque N Java was the perfect place. I chose this place because I read good reviews on Yelp. The atmosphere was very comfortable. It was cozy and gave me the feeling of being in the cafe from the Friends TV show. The coffee was good. I did not have dessert but all of their food looked great too. I will definitely go back again if I want to have coffee with a friend and catch up. It is a great place to do that. My only negative comment is I wanted a refill on coffee. They charged me full price for the refill. I was willing to pay something, but wasn't expecting to pay for a new cup. I only bring this up because usually places give you a discount on refills at cafes like this. read more

Wow! Best cup of coffee we've stumbled upon so far on our east coast road trip! We're from Portland Oregon so we can be pretty big snobs when it comes to our coffee. I live really close to this cafe and enjoy visiting for a nice espresso drink or a baked item. Prices are quite reasonable and the staff are friendly and really enjoy working there. So far I love this place. I do wish so many other people didn't agree when I'm there in the morning trying to rush to work but the line out the door speaks for itself. The lattes are great as are the muffins and bagels. The egg sandwiches are not so good but that's ok because there's plenty more to choose from here.
