I can't believe how DARLING Juniper Table is! I would recommend going there for breakfast or brunch on a Saturday, as their food seems to lend best to those meals. It's located at the bottom level of the Rowan hotel as a standalone coffee bar/cafe! It has a gorgeous open patio with lots of little tables and an industrial/minimalist decoration. The barista who took our order was super pleasant and upbeat, took our order quickly, and helped us decide which foods to get. Their menu has lots of different options. For drinks, you can get your standard cup of coffee or other espresso drinks, or you can treat yourself to a little something extra like a mimosa or bellini. They have eggs/no eggs options for foods as well as some standard pastries. I got the gravlax plate, while my husband got the breakfast burrito. As for the quality of the food, we were pleasantly surprised! My gravlax plate was a de-constructed bagel. It came with a little side salad of greens/pickled red onions/capers, a cream cheese smear that looks like it had lox mixed in, a very well toasted (but not quite burnt) everything bagel, and of course a generous pile of lox. Considering how much lox it came with, the $17 price tag seemed justified. I actually like the deconstructed look, because it gave me a chance to play with the flavors and figure out how much cream cheese/capers/etc I wanted on my bagel. My mimosa was also not bad--it came with freshly squeezed orange juice and a fair amount of champagne. Hubby's breakfast burrito was packed with roasted potatoes, eggs, and applewood smoked bacon and a side of fruit. It was very tasty and he liked it. His latte was also solid. The drinks came out very quickly and we didn't have to wait too long for food either. I should note that we came to Palm Springs on the off season, so take my review with a grain of salt, but if we came back, I think this would be a good place to visit again! read more

We had unexpected guest in town last night with their pup. They wanted outdoor casual dining. we had been to Juniper Table for breakfast and lunch but not for dinner. Fantastic. Our service and server were attentive to details and answered questions about the menu. There was a question is we could have the Chicken Cacciatore with out olives. She said she would check and the chef accommodated the order. Excellent customer service on that! Pizzas were excellent and the Ceaser Salad was fresh and enough for two. while staying at kimpton rowan palm springs, we were looking for something for breakfast that made us feel safe to eat at. this was sorta hard as with a newborn, we didn't feel completely comfortable dining at a very busy restaurant. after searching for a good twenty minutes we finally decided to order room service at juniper table. the reviews scared us off at first but making decisions with a hungry mama + a fussy baby, we decided to take our chances. ordering room service was a breeze. the lady who helped us was very informative + friendly. i ordered the florentine benedict + was very tempted to add on lobster for an additional $22 but i opted not to in the end. room service showed up pretty quick. there was no table that rolled in to our room (covid-related, i assume), but a gentleman at the door with a bag of take out as if he were a dude from postmates. the florentine benedict was absolutely delicious. after first bite i was thoroughly happy we made the decision to eat from juniper table. the benedict was perfectly cooked. it came with a side of mixed greens + potatoes. i would easily order this again. if you're staying at the hotel, order room service! it's delicious! read more

BAD Menu Change: This was my absolute favorite place for breakfast in Palm Springs. They also had an excellent lunch menu as well. I showed up today shocked to see they have completely changed the menu. They removed some of their most popular items including the grain bowl, breakfast burrito, the skillet, avocado toast and the BLT. No more vegan options, almost everything has dairy. In general all options are very heavy. Lunch/dinner menu is heavy Italian despite an already existing Italian restaurant 20 ft away. Why take away your most popular items? The wife and I went here for dinner last night. They are doing a good job of social distancing on the patio, and the staff is appropriately masked up. While it was a bit on the warm side out on the patio, it is a good spot for people watching while you're dining. I had the JT French Dip, which was okay. The dip, though, was more like gravy than au jus, which was a little strange. The fries that came with it were good. I filled up on half of the sandwich and took the other half home. I washed my meal down with a couple of gin and tonics, which came in a good-sized glass, and tasted like I made them at home. The wife had the blackened salmon sandwich, and while the salmon didn't look blackened, she said it was tasty -- but they could have kept the kale off of the sandwich. Meh.... Is the best way to describe this place. It is the lobbyof the Kimpton Rowan Hotel. It also has it's own outside entrance which is just a few steps from Palm Canyon. Had the Avocado Flat bread, Frittata and fresh squeezed OJ. SO the Oj was Killer pun intended.. Frittata was a Frittata and flat bread was decent. For the prices and online presentation I expected more. I was a bit underwhelmed. I will say if you are staying at the Hotel it is a convenient option but I couldn't stop myself from thinking I should have just gone to Starbucks out front. I can't say I would come back. read more

Removing stars due to weird customer experience On the way out of Palm Springs, we stopped at the Juniper Table to grab something to eat. As a plant-based eater married to a meat-eater it's always a treat to find somewhere with vegan options on the menu. A very strange start to our visit--this older woman who took our order had a weird reaction to my order. I ordered a grilled cheese with vegan cheese and she literally says, "I don't really like how that sounds.....I think you should order something else" and my husband asks why and she just says "I don't know that doesn't sound very good to me because it's Daiya" I have worked in the restaurant industry for years and know that THAT is not great etiquette when taking orders from your patrons...it left me just feeling really uncomfortable. The food itself was great! I had no problems with my sandwich and would probably order it again. But I hope I don't have to order it after feeling shamed for the ingredients I choose (esp if they are on the menu???) My husband and I left feeling very off-put by the woman that took our order but the sweet waitress that checked on us at our table definitely saved our experience as she was very sweet and attentive. read more

Great place to have a quick breakfast! Situated next to the Rowan hotel this spot is easy to find with plenty of free parking. The staff was really nice and helpful. When you walk in you can place your order at the counter and then you can pick your seat and they will bring the food out to you. The decor is really awesome, i dined inside but the patio is equally as great. I ordered a latté and it was served in a really neat mug with great latté art. The taste was amazing, being a coffee buff i totally forgot to ask what kind of coffee beans they used. I also ordered a freshly squeezed orange juice which was very tasty. Meal wise i had heard good things about the "Classic BEK" Wow it did not disappoint. Scrambled eggs, slab bacon, kale, béarnaise sauce on an amazing bun. The bacon was super thick and so tasty. After a long wait for coffee across the street, we were still hungry for food. We walked into Junipers, attracted to the open space patio. That menu is smaller than a full brunch restaurant, but still has a little bit of everything you need. We ordered a chickpea crepe, salmon gougere, with a side of bacon and hash browns. We didn't realize it was part of the Kimpton Hotel until afterwards, but did see the somewhat expensive price tag for some items... $7 bacon is not cheap. After we opened our to-go boxes in the car, we realized this is no ordinary brunch, its FANCY brunch. Bacon means a giant slab of delicious pork belly, crisped to perfection, savory in every bite. Sooo good. Totally worth that 7 bucks. Hash brown means a potato brownie, but instead of cocoa its paprika and spices, and instead of caramel on top its crunchy cheese coating. A little overpowering, kinda wished it was more like the stuff I get from mickyDs. The chickpea crepe was a tasty and fulfilling blend of crepe, spinach, cheese, ham & their healthy take of hollandaise sauce (made with chickpeas of course). Its a huge portion with lots of layers. We snatched the last salmon gougere (cheesy bread-pastry-thing), which was their high class version of a lox bagel. Loads of capers but the gougere cracks and fails to keep the sandwich together as soon as you bite into it. Supposedly very good. Food came out quick, and its fun to explore the hotel lobby while waiting. Nice surprise for a takeaway breakfast. read more

This is a restaurant at the Rowan Hotel and only serving outside. Great idea to get shade. One of the less busy on the Main Street which was a nice respite. Everything was perfect for a quick brekky, I just wish I knew about the parm I. The salad. Being on a diet, I didn't want cheese and there was too much of it. Made the salad cheap in my opinion. I had the date citrus salad which was good. Underseasoned for sure, but fresh ingredients. A tiny bit more acid and some salt and pepper. My wife had the beef dip w au jus. Meat cooked well, perfect temp, lots of of cheese, aus jus was on point. Best i have had!! I had the turkey club. It was good, no suprises. A bit pricy for the fair but i get it!! We found this wonderful place while looking for someplace with a varied menu as my niece is vegan and my friend is NOT. The food was delicious and the fries some of the best! Stray dogs wander around this place unleashed, and the restaurant staff doesn't do anything about it. I unfortunately have to leave a 1-star review due to a horrible experience with management here. I came in with a large party of 13 today and all spent collectively hundreds of dollars at brunch. Several stray dogs were roaming around the restaurant unleashed. When I asked if the staff could get them leashed or removed from the restaurant, they refused. I later went to the front desk of the hotel and complained to them about the loose dogs, and they declined to do anything as well. The dogs literally came up to us and started sniffing around while I was at the front desk too. Some background: on August 2014, Gov. Jerry Brown signed AB 1965, a law that modified California's health code to allow retail food businesses with outdoor seating areas to permit pet dogs in those areas. However, dogs can't be indoors and they must be LEASHED. (obvious exceptions are for service dogs) This place allowed the unleashed dogs to be indoors. There are numerous health and legal reasons for these laws to exist, so it's surprising that a restaurant in a town this small would be so willing to allow this behavior from their staff. Needless to say we won't be coming back. read more
