Wow! The tip I want to give is that the burgers are very large. We started with the 5 chicken empanadas. My daughter wouldn't stop talking about how great they were with the pineapple sauce. The sauce is a sweet now not savory as some might expect. We then bought 3 combos, each with a different type of burger. We picked the explosion, junior, and burger dog. Needless to say we were only able to finish half of it. The fries are also wonderful. I would recommend the garlic sauce to dip them in. If you have any questions the girl at the counter is very helpful and is happy to provide suggestions. The building itself is clean, minimalist decor. They do have self serve soda machines and a space to get additional sauces. It is also nice that they have a screen that shows examples of the food they server in a slide show type format. I've always wanted to try this place and finally visited recently. We ordered the junior burger, chicken empanada, and the new fries. The burger is quite good but the pineapple sauce surprised me since I'm not used to sweet sauces with burgers. I liked it but not sure if I'd choose it over five guys. The empanada was pretty good as well with tender chicken. The dough was a bit thick and heavy though. And lastly the fries. It's a huge portion with a burger and egg on top. The egg unfortunately was cooked too hard and the cheese kinda tasted like cream cheese? It would've been amazing with just nacho cheese or something. With nearby bars closing it seems situated to catch people who work next door or people citing the parking. My Dad & I just went into this place as TOTAL strangers, newbies. Being biologically Colombian, I felt we kinda had to give it a shot. After trying it, I'm SUPER GLAD we did. While social distancing, we are trying to support local businesses when we do order takeout/delivery. This spot was on my list of places to try based on recommendations from friends, and when my boyfriend said he wanted a burger, I figured this would be a good option to try! We ordered via Uber Eats. We both chose a cheeseburger combo (burger, fries, and a drink), a cheese empanada, and a chicken empanada. We both enjoyed the empanadas a lot. The dough was nice and crispy, and the chicken empanada had a lot of meat. The fries were well seasoned. They were a little soggy, but I assume that's because of delivery versus eating in. I'm not a huge fry fan, but theirs were well seasoned and I'd imagine they would be awesome when fresh and crispy. The burgers themselves were a little lackluster. Not bad by any means, and I'd still try one again, but I'd definitely opt for extra sauce and extra cheese next time. Their default amounts left the burger lacking in my opinion, and the beef patty itself was a little dry for my preference. On the plus side, a single patty is a large sandwich and was more than enough for both of us. This was my second time at this place with my husband. We had ordered the burgers (Cheeseburger and Cheeseburger Double) which were really fresh and tasted as if they were homemade. The sauces (pink, garlic and pineapple) that they used were the perfect flavor combination to really tie everything together. You know in the Peanuts cartoons when one of them was angry or frustrated, they'd have those squiggly black lines hanging over their head as the walked down the street? I had those squiggly lines as I walked in to Junior Colombian Burger, because the Pioneers Western Kitchen that they bought out and replaced was one of my favorite lunch spots in the area. So I came in to JCB already annoyed with them, my inner monologue mumbling about how I'm not going to enjoy this place, I just knew it. "There's no menus to hold while you're waiting in line?" I thought to myself, "And why would you have glossy TV screens showing the overhead menu when they're facing a bright window? I can't see a thing on those menus because of the glare! This place is stupid." My squiggles were squiggling furiously. So I made up my mind to try a combo meal after much moving my head around like an idiot trying to read around the glare spots on the screen, and I was given one of those vibrating flashy things that you normally get when you're waiting for a table. "That's stupid," said my brain, sulking. I went to a table. Then the flashy thing went off. And did it ever go off. Loud, obnoxious beeping followed every few seconds with an equally loud verbal warning that my food was ready, repeated in both English and Spanish. Everyone in the restaurant knew when my food was ready, it was crazy. My squiggles had reached a fever pitch as I got up to get my food. After getting a bunch of sauces to try from the collection of half a dozen or so available, I opened up the burger and tried it out. Dammit. This is really pretty good. The patties (I had ordered a double) were surprisingly tender and juicy, and the bun was one of those silky soft types that's strong and holds up nicely but doesn't have any of those dry, crumby properties that the hamburger buns at most fast food joints have. The sauces work together nicely (and can, of course, be enhanced with any of the sauces available by the counter) and the crumbled potato chips at a little texture and saltiness to the mix. For around $10, I got this double cheeseburger and a good sized thing of fries. The fries may not have been life-altering, but they were good and they operated nicely as vessels for some of those sauces. I was stuffed and couldn't even finish the fries. This was my first experience at a Junior Colombian Burger, and I was definitely happy with the food. I may save one thin wisp of an "angry squiggle" for my beloved Pioneers, but I'll be back here again for sure. *** Update *** On my second visit to JCB, I noticed that they had placed menus in front of the counter that you can take to look at while you wait to order. Absolutely amazing burgers. I love the crushed potato chips and sweet sauce they use in their burgers. Good place to grab lunch, and the 3 times I've been to this location, it's never too busy.
