Eggplant, potatoes with jalapeños and carrots, spicy fish cakes, seaweed mix
    Tiffany O.

When I first heard about Jung's, I knew I had to try it because I love banchan side dishes. It's nice having a place so close by to me without having to go all the way to H Mart, even though H Mart is much cheaper. I prefer how H Mart prices containers by how much they weigh. I know this would be too much for this small business to handle, so hopefully they use some methods to make sure containers of the same item weigh similarly. The eggplant dish is a definite must try! It's very flavorful and saucy. Everything else I bought also tasted great: potatoes with jalapeños and carrots, spicy fish cakes, and seaweed mix. There are so many more items to try, including a lot of different meats, but I haven't tried anything with meat from here. I noticed some dishes were packed in different sized containers, but the price difference wasn't indicated anywhere. The individual containers don't have pricing labels either, so it was hard for me to keep track of how much I was spending after I stacked everything I wanted to eat. The lady working there was very nice when answering my questions (mainly about what was ready to eat vs needed further cooking).

Some hits, some misses. The spicy squid was fantastic, but the kimchi tasted way too fresh, not enough funk.

Service was fast and great. Very small mom and pop shop. There is no table so sit down since it is just a to go side dishes shop. If you are in Shoreline, definitely drop by. The price is pretty much the usual price at any Korean market but you know that these are made fresh in house.

My daughter stumbled up Jung's Kitchen while searching online. What a great find! If you love Korean food, give this place a try. Owner is warm and friendly. TONs of options from kimchi to braised eggs. Save time and money. My daughter typically makes these sides and it cost her much more to buy all the ingredients. We picked up 6 sides and total was around $35. Very reasonable. Most sides range from $5-10. We will for sure be back. Very clean and organized inside.

I loved most of items I got and am a huge fan of the kimchi! For me, the taste is just right- not too salty, fresh tasting and lots of umami. Least favorite was the kimbap, this batch was dry for me and just alright. I went back to the store after someone recommend to try the eggplant because it was delicious. It was a 10min wait because it was still being made but it was definitely worth the wait! So flavorful and whatever they put on top is so yummy. Be sure to pick this up if it's in the stock! The ladies that work there are also so nice. Such a nice small business with really tasty banchan! I'm so glad I live close by and I don't have to go to Edmonds or Lynnwood to get good homemade kimchi! I will for sure go back and try their prepared soups and other banchan. They also have dry banchan (seaweed, dried small fish and also cater!

It's a neat little Ban Chan shop run by two nice ladies. It may be a bit hard to find because it's tucked into the crook of the "L" shaped strip mall. The things that you find here are the wonderful side dishes that fill the refrigerators of Korean homes and restaurants to accompany the main dishes. The Kelp Noodle Salad and their Eggplant are outstanding. Jung's Kitchen is a gem and I wish them success and longevity.

Jung's offers an impressive variety of flavorful and authentic banchan. From classic kimchi to lesser-known treasures, each dish is a delightful burst of flavors and textures that truly embodies the essence of Korean cuisine. The attentive staff eagerly shares their knowledge, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The high-quality ingredients and passion for their craft are evident in every dish, making Jung's a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional banchan experience. My husband and I can't get enough and visit once a week!

Small and cozy shop selling a variety of banchan. The selection of banchan they offer is truly impressive for seattle. We even saw the owners preparing one the dishes when we entered. I cannot tell you how much this reminds of my time living in Seoul. We ordered to-go their kimbap, potato salad, and potato stems. The kimbap has to be among the best in Seattle. The potato stems and potato salad were delicious. Def coming back to stock up on kimchi and everything else!

Pancakes ($20) 2/5 stars (too dry) and Eggplant banchan ($10) 5/5 stars!!! Super tasty albeit pricey

The service was great and the waiter explained many of the new dishes to us herself. The food came out very fast after ordering and though there were several other tables full of groups, they also got their food out quick as well. The noise level is moderate, but the high walls on the booths and the partitions between the larger seating area and the table and booth section helps to buffer the noise pollution between the areas. The La kalbi was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The dish came with a side bowl of rice and assorted bon chon. I have dined here before so the interiors isn't too different just small changes. Let's jump to the food- I ordered the galbitang and it came with 10 different banchan. Which is a nice surprise since some restaurants aren't as generous in the banchan. The galbitang was so flavorful for a "clear" soup and the meat was tender. It also included a good portion of meat. I've tried galbitang at other places, but there was an umami that many didn't have. All the banchan were flavorful too, I thought the kimchi had a good balance as sometimes it can be a bit on the saltier side. Service was great too, the sever was friendly and checked often. When I went, it was just me then a couple arrived. There was a delay with their order so she provided some mandu on the house while their order was being prepared. Once they received their order, I heard the couple tell the sever that everything was very good multiple times- their food did look good! I recommend checking this place out especially with the new ownership. Menu looks similar from previous owners, but will for sure go back and try something else!

They had plenty of seating and we were able to fit our group of 6 into a booth. While they only have one grill per table, when the fire is turned on, it is really high so things cook so quickly! They have a couple of different tiers of options, but my family loves galbi so we opted for the premium tier ($45). The mid tier (I believe $35) you can go serve yourself all of the meat, but the premium meats are brought out. We tried galbi, ribeye and scallops from the premium menu, which were all tasty (the galbi pieces were large and marinated well, ribeye was nice and red, and scallops while small, came in the shell). Most of the sides and meats are self service which is also nice. They have many different side dishes (including cheese corn!), different pickled veggies, garlic, lettuce, sauces, and the meats and some seafood like shrimp and squid were self serve including a nice cold meat refrigerator for the thin slices such as brisket and belly. They even have a hot bar that I didn't try with various fried foods. They also had oranges, and my favorite - a self serve soft serve ice cream station! Yum! There were also yogurt drinks at the end. It is a lovely place that I think it is mom and pop - we had a sweet lady as our server and she was nothing but smiles. Things can get busy so it took some time for our premium meats to come out but no worries as there were plenty of self serve things to eat while we were waiting. This is my favorite KBBQ place in the Lynnwood/Shoreline area so far, so will definitely be back!

This was actually his first time having Korean bbq while it was my first time doing Korean bbq and self-serving since the others I've been to has it where you order and the food comes to the table haha! Everything is a set price (lunch is cheaper and dinner has the regular plus premium prices). The server comes right away with 2 waters, 2 rice, and tongs and scissors for the meat. He asked us which option we want and that everything is at the buffet to get and you cook it yourself! It was a little confusing bc the menu options say what you get but you can't remember when you get up to the buffet area and get what you want. Everything at the buffet area was pretty much good to take!! It would be nice if the menu options were there at the buffet area. They did have beef brisket and angus beef brisket but we didn't get those cuz we thought it was the premium price and they were in a freezer or fridge of some sort locked so you have to unlock to wait 5 seconds or something. They had a good assortment of veggies including pickled radish and kimchi! They also had free seaweed snacks and an ice cream machine (vanilla only)! The tables where you cook the meat, the grills need to be replaced at least once bc they tend to scorch but it's nice they have air vents above to keep the air and such circulated. Staff is nice, but there's only 2-3 of them. They do check but sometimes you need to flag them if you want something else like a beverage other than water or to change the grill. Parking lot is great! Good amount of spots! Their restroom is nice too!

Luckily place offers gochugaru (spicy chili powder) so I'm able to make it spicy without having to add any oil. Secondly, their sauce bar has the most offerings I've seen at a malatang place so far. Thirdly, I love how the soup comes on a burner (like Boiling Point) so my soup stays boiling hot for the entire duration of the meal. Lastly, the place is clean and by far the most spacious malatang restaurant I've been too which is great for these types of places where people are standing often to make their soups/get sauces. Service was also great and everything came out quickly. Will definitely be back.

One day, lightning struck a tree, causing a massive forest fire that killed many animals. Our ancestors then discovered that cooked meat tasted much better than raw meat. This is why roast meat has always been regarded as an important part of the human diet. Today I gathered with friends and chose this barbecue restaurant. It's located north of Redmond, with a prominent sign and plenty of parking. Ambiance: The decor is creative, but it feels quite contradictory. Barbecue is inherently a very "Jianghu" (lively, rough-and-tumble) kind of thing, yet the restaurant leans toward an artistic, literary style. When I used to run my own restaurant, I followed a principle: avoid anything unrelated to the core dining experience. Seeing many books on the shelves here, I understand they're trying to bridge Jianghu and artistry -- but it clearly feels out of place. That said, the place is very clean, and the stickers/decorations are festive. Service: My high rating for this restaurant is largely based on the service. After we sat down, we were given free appetizers -- braised peanuts, which tasted great. The staff training is very professional, whether it's taking orders, making recommendations, attending to us during the meal, or checking on tables and refilling water. All excellent. Taste: Jianghu-style cuisine is characterized by boldness, satisfaction, and not sweating the small details. We ordered spicy hot pot (Malatang), spicy hot pot skewers, grilled beef, lamb, chicken gizzards, oysters, and many other items. First, the Malatang and spicy skewers tasted almost identical, so it felt like eating the same thing. The grilled skewers were just average -- neither good nor bad. The oysters were very tasty. However, the shrimp in the spicy skewers were very unfresh, which was disappointing. "By the way, the prices at 'Friendship Skewers' are anything but friendly -- I think it's quite overpriced overall."
