A small hole in the wall corner mart that sells Korean Banchan, and kimbap to order. We ordered two rolls of kimbap to go, she made them fresh for us & we also got the radish kimchi & garlic stems. Super excited to find a spot like this nearby and the owner was very nice. We called to place the order close to 6:30pm and she was still willing to take it close to closing at 7pm ;)

When I first heard about Jung's, I knew I had to try it because I love banchan side dishes. It's nice having a place so close by to me without having to go all the way to H Mart, even though H Mart is much cheaper. I prefer how H Mart prices containers by how much they weigh. I know this would be too much for this small business to handle, so hopefully they use some methods to make sure containers of the same item weigh similarly. The eggplant dish is a definite must try! It's very flavorful and saucy. Everything else I bought also tasted great: potatoes with jalapeños and carrots, spicy fish cakes, and seaweed mix. There are so many more items to try, including a lot of different meats, but I haven't tried anything with meat from here. I noticed some dishes were packed in different sized containers, but the price difference wasn't indicated anywhere. The individual containers don't have pricing labels either, so it was hard for me to keep track of how much I was spending after I stacked everything I wanted to eat. The lady working there was very nice when answering my questions (mainly about what was ready to eat vs needed further cooking).

Some hits, some misses. The spicy squid was fantastic, but the kimchi tasted way too fresh, not enough funk.

Service was fast and great. Very small mom and pop shop. There is no table so sit down since it is just a to go side dishes shop. If you are in Shoreline, definitely drop by. The price is pretty much the usual price at any Korean market but you know that these are made fresh in house.

I loved most of items I got and am a huge fan of the kimchi! For me, the taste is just right- not too salty, fresh tasting and lots of umami. Least favorite was the kimbap, this batch was dry for me and just alright. I went back to the store after someone recommend to try the eggplant because it was delicious. It was a 10min wait because it was still being made but it was definitely worth the wait! So flavorful and whatever they put on top is so yummy. Be sure to pick this up if it's in the stock! The ladies that work there are also so nice. Such a nice small business with really tasty banchan! I'm so glad I live close by and I don't have to go to Edmonds or Lynnwood to get good homemade kimchi! I will for sure go back and try their prepared soups and other banchan. They also have dry banchan (seaweed, dried small fish and also cater!

My daughter stumbled up Jung's Kitchen while searching online. What a great find! If you love Korean food, give this place a try. Owner is warm and friendly. TONs of options from kimchi to braised eggs. Save time and money. My daughter typically makes these sides and it cost her much more to buy all the ingredients. We picked up 6 sides and total was around $35. Very reasonable. Most sides range from $5-10. We will for sure be back. Very clean and organized inside.

It's a neat little Ban Chan shop run by two nice ladies. It may be a bit hard to find because it's tucked into the crook of the "L" shaped strip mall. The things that you find here are the wonderful side dishes that fill the refrigerators of Korean homes and restaurants to accompany the main dishes. The Kelp Noodle Salad and their Eggplant are outstanding. Jung's Kitchen is a gem and I wish them success and longevity.

Jung's offers an impressive variety of flavorful and authentic banchan. From classic kimchi to lesser-known treasures, each dish is a delightful burst of flavors and textures that truly embodies the essence of Korean cuisine. The attentive staff eagerly shares their knowledge, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The high-quality ingredients and passion for their craft are evident in every dish, making Jung's a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional banchan experience. My husband and I can't get enough and visit once a week!

They also almost always have great specials when you spend over $80! Must-Orders & Foodie Pro-Tip: * Special Lamb: The absolute star of the menu and a non-negotiable must-have. - i like to ask for additional spicy powder on the side and dip more since it is little blend for my liking * The Cucumber + Cold Noodle Hack: If you're a savory girl like me, order the cucumber salad to start, but save about a quarter of it (and the sauce). When you get cold noodles for dessert, dunk the leftover cucumber and tangy sauce in--it adds the perfect crunch and acidity to balance out the sweetness! Drink Note: They still serve beer, but it's a bit sad that they don't sell original/non-flavored soju anymore. Regardless, the incredible food and lively vibe make every trip 100% worth the drive.

One day, lightning struck a tree, causing a massive forest fire that killed many animals. Our ancestors then discovered that cooked meat tasted much better than raw meat. This is why roast meat has always been regarded as an important part of the human diet. Today I gathered with friends and chose this barbecue restaurant. It's located north of Redmond, with a prominent sign and plenty of parking. Ambiance: The decor is creative, but it feels quite contradictory. Barbecue is inherently a very "Jianghu" (lively, rough-and-tumble) kind of thing, yet the restaurant leans toward an artistic, literary style. When I used to run my own restaurant, I followed a principle: avoid anything unrelated to the core dining experience. Seeing many books on the shelves here, I understand they're trying to bridge Jianghu and artistry -- but it clearly feels out of place. That said, the place is very clean, and the stickers/decorations are festive. Service: My high rating for this restaurant is largely based on the service. After we sat down, we were given free appetizers -- braised peanuts, which tasted great. The staff training is very professional, whether it's taking orders, making recommendations, attending to us during the meal, or checking on tables and refilling water. All excellent. Taste: Jianghu-style cuisine is characterized by boldness, satisfaction, and not sweating the small details. We ordered spicy hot pot (Malatang), spicy hot pot skewers, grilled beef, lamb, chicken gizzards, oysters, and many other items. First, the Malatang and spicy skewers tasted almost identical, so it felt like eating the same thing. The grilled skewers were just average -- neither good nor bad. The oysters were very tasty. However, the shrimp in the spicy skewers were very unfresh, which was disappointing. "By the way, the prices at 'Friendship Skewers' are anything but friendly -- I think it's quite overpriced overall."

It's dark, has a bit of a modern feel to it. There is one side that has the BBQ tables and the other half of the restaurant has the regular. Big restaurant, so if you have a large party this place can accommodate. Service: Great! Got there at 11:30, I think we were the first people. It's a real mom & pop shop - I talked to the son, Andy, who works here with his father and grandfather. Andy's a trained french chef, it sounds like everyone in the family are chefs - runs in their blood. He's really proud of his family's restaurant, and told me about how they are selective in where they source all of their food - beef from OR, ban chan ingredients from some Korean farm, some other protein from Idaho - he could name where they sourced all of their ingredients and you can taste it in the food. Food: We ordered 2 lunch sets Lunch JUNGSIK Set · 2 fried mandu - okay, bulgogi - good, mackerel - okay - I just don't prefer it, squid - there was a lot of veggies and kind of had to search for the squid, tofu stew - good I probably wouldn't order this one again Lunch BBQ Set A Pork belly - great cuts, beef bulgogi - so one of these they pre-cooked for us, and the other they did on the grill - I honestly think the one they cooked in the back tasted better - more tender and juicy, brisket was great - small pieces, but good bite size. I'm not sure what the marinated pork ribs were, they had a spicy pork - I'm not sure it was ribs though, but still was good. Really liked the egg souffle, but I think if you're into cheese - get the corn cheese. I would probably order this again. LA Galbi cooked in kitchen - the BOMB!!!! Banchan - They had a good assortment. We normally get refills, but there was so much food in the lunch sets that we didn't get any. There were some different banchan that I had here that they don't normally serve at other Korean places, so I liked that. They also sell their homemade kimchi and banchan in a fridge next to the cash register. Dessert - they threw in a free dessert drink - sikhye - it was cold and refreshing - also a nice surprise! Recommendation: So this place does feel a little pricy about $50/person and we didn't order any drinks, but for the quality and variety - it's worth it. If you're doing a lunch set, shell out for the more expensive set - it's worth it. Favorites were the LA Galbi and the egg souffle.

So between two places this one won. By the looks they probably have a ton of to go orders or single guys having a beer and bbq at the bar top. She's loves baked beans and they weren't her favorite here. The habanero Mac salad was very well taken by everyone at the table. The plates for 1 they have gives great a pile of meat, fries, hand made and little crispy and Mac n cheese, which was good. We had pork, brisket and ribs at the table. All of which was smoked fairly well. The brisket was good and tender. Pork was a tiny bit dry but the homemade bbq sauces made for it. And the spare ribs were cooked well, they were good for spare ribs but I generally prefer a baby back. Overall the service was stoic, he was spot on with everything but looked as if he was busy with a lot of other stuff throughout the restaurant as well. It's a solid place for bbq, so if you're a bbq fan give it a try. Def a solid lunch spot if you and a couple guys were looking for a place to stop.

We ordered brisket, pulled pork, collards, mac n cheese, and gumbo. The meats were the absolute highlight. The brisket was phenomenal--very tender, fatty, and ultra smoky. Others in our group felt similarly about the pork. We got the Kansas City sauce and, while it wasn't the best I've ever had, it absolutely avoided the common pitfall of being cloyingly sweet. They promise that it isn't too sweet on their menu, and they're right. For BBQ meat, I think Gabriel's Fire is up there among the top offerings in the area. The sides were less great. The collards were divisive in our group. I liked the initial hit of vinegar and the oh-so-subtle kick in the aftertaste. But others found them bland. I will say I appreciated that they at least appeared to be vegetarian/pork-less. The gumbo was quite bad in my estimation. Its only flavor was the roux and salt, and its texture was unsettlingly uniform. The Mac and cheese wasn't bad; very plain but inoffensive. The fries were immensely greasy, borderline burned, but soggy. The only one of these I'd consider ordering again is the greens. They also have no options for any kind of bread--no rolls, no cornbread, nothing of the sort. Maybe it's unfair to judge a restaurant on what the don't serve, but this felt like something that made the meal feel unbalanced. There is a lot of intense BBQ snobbery in Seattle, with many claiming that we don't have any good options here. I disagree, and my credentials are having done a lot of eating in the South (AR & TX mainly). Gabriel's Fire is good BBQ. We are so happy to have it nearby and look forward to returning.
