    traditional ox bone soup
    Tony J.

Small Korean restaurant in Edmonds, in the small plaza that's just south of the big plaza with the 99 Ranch supermarket. Went on a non-Friday weeknight and the place wasn't busy, but not empty either. Small menu mostly consisting of soups, including the namesake ox bone soup (Seolleongtang), but has some other Korean favorites like seafood pancake, bulgogi etc. Got the signature ox bone soup with clear noodle. Also comes with a bowl of rice and some chopped green onions. You are supposed to mix in the onions and add salt/pepper on your own. It's a like the other seolleongtang I've had before, very hearty and almost creamy bone soup flavor. There's thin slices of beef in the soup. Good dish to have to warm up the stomach when the weather is cooler. The kimchi they give as part of the banchan is pretty tasty. Just got the right amount of salty and spiciness. Portions of the soup are okay for the ~16 price, although it's probably the rice that's the most filling. Overall, decent place for ox bone soup.

Went here around 1pm on a Monday and it ended up being pretty packed. The service was nice. The place was fine, one of their booths they use for storage which looks a little messy. We ended up ordering a beef soup as the name suggests it should be here, squid to mix it up and the dumplings bc we wanted to try. Overall I wouldn't say this place is bad but it's def not good. Would avoid going back. Beef soup - 6 . Not impressed with it, not enough beef, not enough veggies or flavor overall. Squid - 5.5: the squid itself was not good, very inconsistent pieces - some were good and some were too chewy. The sauce didn't really stick on the squid. However the rest of the vegetables in the dish especially the zucchini were really good. Somehow the squid in the squid dish ruined it. Dumplings - 5: it was just very ok, you def need the sauce they gave you bc it's very plain and chive y without it. Not bad just not good, you eat this to get full not really for enjoyment .

The server was so nice. Food was hot and came out fast. I ordered the beef and cabbage soup. My husband had the spicy beef soup. I definitely liked the spicy one better. Mine was $25 and barely had any beef, so I'd definitely order the spicy beef one instead. Better flavor and value.

Really solid place for some seolleongtang, I really liked the kimchi and radish. Got the dumplings and they are big so I think that's worth the price. The mix soup is on the cheaper side than then other places I've been too. Although I wish we were given more green onion or have a container of it on the table. Interior is pretty small. Service is standard

Always consistently delicious! My go-to is the kalbi tang because it's so flavorful and hits the spot on a chilly day. Their other soups like tofu and beef bone are standouts also. Service is quick and very nice! Love this family-owned restaurant with yummy and soul-soothing food!

This place specializes in sullongtang, a very traditional bone broth soup. Extremely good for you and hearty. Inside is very mom and pop, limited staff but kept clean. Note banchan is limited to kimchi here which is typical of this type of Korean food so don't be surprised. I got the soondooboo because I hadn't had it in awhile and that was a mistake. In general order the thing that is in the name of the restaurant. :)

I've been craving Seolleong-Tang or Ox Bone Soup all through the winter and when I met up with a friend for lunch, I knew exactly where I wanted to go and it did not disappoint. Traditional Korean Beef Soup in Edmonds is the perfect spot on a cold day. This restaurant had other options including bulgogi, bibim bap, sundubu jjigae, and other soups/stews. However, for your first time, you're really here for the seolleong-tang. I got mine with everything, which included flank steak, tripe, and knee cartilage. You can also get it with beef tongue too. I got mine with vermicelli noodles and the meal also comes with purple rice, and refillable kimchi. I love their radish kimchi and I definitely asked for seconds. As for the soup, the seolleong-tang comes unseasoned, so there's salt at the table for you to add to your desire. There's also green onions to add to it as well. If you're really hungry, I would also order the mandu or handmade pork dumplings to go with your meal. It could be a lot for one person, because the dumplings come in eight per order, but if you're sharing, it's perfect. This place is a no frills restaurant. They have ample seating, but it does get busy during the weekends and at night. It's a small, but very friendly staff, so be kind. If you're craving for something warm and comforting in Edmonds, this is the spot.

Under-the-radar mom and pop shop. Soy and nut-free ingredients. Wish they gave more banchan (the tiny dishes Korean restaurants serve before entree dishes). The homemade kimchi is really good - not too vinegary or pungent. Cozy vibes and hot soups served by a team of ajummas. I typically order their seoullong tang (bone broth soup) for a hearty but simple soup to warm myself on those cold, rainy winter days. Pair it up with some filling purple rice and leftover kimchi sauce.

traditional korean beef soup with rice noodle
    Tammy L.

Really feel like I've found a hidden gem for comfort food on a chilly (probably rainy) Seattle day. My go-to is the beef soup with rice noodles, adding a couple of spoons of salt. The soup is amazingly rich and umami without having too much sodium. Sides are also yummy and the waitstaff is kind!

We've been a couple times since the first review. Every time it's amazing, but I have to put everyone on this Spicy Squid. It's smoky, filled with a savory garlicky flavor, paired with some amazing vegetables. If I wasn't here for soup, I would eat plates and plates of the squid. Luckily the tentacles are cut otherwise it would have a chokehold on me (my wife rolled her eyes, but agrees).

Seolleongtang, rice, kimchi, extra tongue on the side
    Sherry W.

I was craving Seolleongtang and didn't feel like driving all the way down to Federal Way to Yi's so I thought I would try this spot that was much closer to me. I came on a Sunday at lunch and the place was packed but the counters on the side were all open and available. The waitress was very nice and friendly, and this is definitely a no frills authentic spot. I got the Seolleongtang with the combo of all the different meats and also added tongue. For those who are unfamiliar, it comes without much salt and then you add salt to your taste (and green onion). It was so delicious and really hit the spot. The mandu was also really good, and the radish kimchi was also super yummy. I can't wait to come back!

    Mixed meat sullungtang
    Timothy L.

I love a good sullungtang and this place does it very well! I ordered the mixed meat sullungtang and it is the perfect meal for the cold weather. However while the soup was amazing the kimchi was not as fresh and was not as good. Not a huge thing though. But I do appreciate the relatively lower price of thr sullungtang here compared to other places in the region that serve it. Will definitely come back whenever I am up north.

2/24/2024, Come back again for their Seolleong Tang with my boyfriend's sister and niece. Saturday late lunch after 1:00pm, not crowded at all, as soon as we walk in, got seated right away! We ordered three Seolleong Tang with flank meat, mixed meat and tongue, steamed mundo and rice cake and dumpling soup. It's my bf's sister and niece first time trying this restaurant and they loved the food! The soup has great flavor, eat it with their Kim chee and radish ban Chan helps enhance the flavor to a different level. I would love to ask everyone who has not try yet to give it a try! You will find it very satisfying! Especially during rainy stormy day!! To owner and his family, please keep up the excellent job and I will be back soon!!

There is compact parking in front of the restaurant, but more spots available to the side of the lot. We ordered: Soft Tofu Stew - I love the kimchi they serve. Their kimchi is a little more spicy and pungent than what other restaurants serve, but that is exactly how it should be. Yukgaejang - A hearty and nourishing soup. Plenty of broth, beef, and leafy vegetables to even take home afterwards (you can see with the depth of the bowl). LA Kalbi & Pork Belly - Generous portions for the price. LA Kalbi was the favorite for the night, but pork bely was also just as good. Served on a hot platter it was nice that the meats remained warm even towards the end of meal. Tteok-Bokki - So so much. Wish there was more cheese added, but that is only because I have a low spice tolerance lol. We had plenty to take home afterwards so it's still a win. Items are on the pricier side, but great value considering the quality and how much is offered. Their kimchi is my favorite and honestly nothing compares to it.

The jajung was basically noodles, brown sauce, and onions. It was tasty, but disappointing that it looked and tasted vegetarian. The jjamppong was tasty because it was garlicky and slightly spicy. The mid tier (I believe $35) you can go serve yourself all of the meat, but the premium meats are brought out. We tried galbi, ribeye and scallops from the premium menu, which were all tasty (the galbi pieces were large and marinated well, ribeye was nice and red, and scallops while small, came in the shell). Most of the sides and meats are self service which is also nice. They have many different side dishes (including cheese corn!), different pickled veggies, garlic, lettuce, sauces, and the meats and some seafood like shrimp and squid were self serve including a nice cold meat refrigerator for the thin slices such as brisket and belly. I've tried galbitang at other places, but there was an umami that many didn't have.
