They were really friendly people. And it's a quaint little place. I wish the food was good it was not. I had an omelette and it was tiny two egg omelette for $13 it had four tiny little pieces of sausage like pebbles. Everything was so greasy there was a lake of grease on my plate. They must just pour on oil and cook everything in some type of oil. It was nasty the hashbrowns were undercooked and also smothered in this liquid grease. My stomach already kind of turns I have a feeling it's not going to be a good day. read more

I was excited to try this place for breakfast, I got there at 1105 and I was told breakfast was closed. We ended up staying for lunch. The lunch menu is very slim picking. I got a country fried steak sandwich and a clam chowder. The food took a while and it was gross, it tasted terrible. The soup was watery and had no flavor. The steak was Saturated in oil. My kid got a corn dog and fries. The fries were cold. The owner or who ever she was made a lot of nasty remarks about customers. Pretty unprofessional. I won't go back read more

Stopped here on the way to Holbrook for work. There aren't very many options in this area so it's good comparatively in that aspect. I ordered the Chicken Salad and it was your basic iceberg lettuce mixed salad so it wasn't anything special. This is the best option for more health conscious people. First of all I ordered OverMedium eggs and my mom OverEasy eggs. Hers were wet and runny and mine?! Not wet but deliciously runny once you pop that top. That's ALL you need to know about this place. They pay attention to detail! This is a little spot off the highway that caught my family's attention because of the name June. My little brothers nickname is Juni and we call him June sometimes too so we decided to stop in. Walking in you see a small but clean and full of character dining area. The place is packed but well maintained. Our party of 5 we're immediately greeted and sat. These people must be family because the vibe in there is just so nice and wholesome. We even caught (what I think) is the owners slow dancing in the back. (So freaking cute). That love HAS to transfer into the food and service because The orange juice was sweet and fresh. And for my first time ordering chicken fried steak I was in HEAVEN. Everyone's plate at my table was cooked on point. OK ... not great. Good prices because of small portions. Ordered the chicken parm daily lunch special. Chicken came cut up ... WTF? Not only that you had to hunt for chicken pieces in the pile of sauce. Trying too hard to be unique - missed the mark. It probably does okay because of the complete lack of other restaurant options in the town. Would suggest that they try harder and make better food. We only stopped in for a dessert to take back to our cabin. About five types of pie were available and we purchased three: peanut butter cream, coconut cream, and key lime. The crust of the coconut cream was hard and flavorless, the other two flavors had graham cracker/cookie crusts which were fine. The filling was average and the price was a bit high. Wow, this place didn't disappoint. We stopped on our way through just looking for a break from driving and are so happy we did! I got the cheeseburger and it's everything you hope for in a burger. Full of flavor, perfect toppings, and a toasted bun. Didn't even need the fries which is saying a lot since I'm a fry junkie. My husband got the club sandwich and was super happy. Pleasant little place with limited seating. We stopped in on a Tuesday morning, just about the only place in town that was open. Monday's and Tuesday's are tough to find anything open in Heber-Overgaard. The counter was completely empty so we grabbed our chance and got served immediately. Breakfast came our fairly quick for as crowded as they were and met our expectations. Bacon was thick, hearty and plentiful, but the corned beef hash was, in my humble opinion, some of the best I've ever tasted. Everything else from eggs to toast was perfectly fine. We tried to go back Wednesday morning around the same time and they were closed??? June's seems to be one of only about two places for a decent breakfast. I'd give this place 3 stars but the hot sauce and the folksy service pushes it to four. The food isn't particularly cheap but it's not expensive. It's basic diner fair. Breakfast ends at 11 or else I would have at breakfast for lunch. I had the cod special and my partner had a salad w chicken. The cod appeared to be pre-battered frozen fish. We live in Pinetop for the summers to escape the heat and always passed right by June's Cafe and finally stopped in for breakfast on the morning of May 18th, 2023. My wife ordered a vegetarian Omelet and I ordered an Omelet with Chorizo and cheese. My wife complained to me that her's was very bland and tasteless. The Chorizo in my Omelet was terrible and I could not eat it though I did finish the rest of the omelet and it was very bland. I doubt I will ever stop by again. I liked all the patriotic stuff and the pro-military pictures (I'm a Vietnam Vet) but they need to get a decent cook to lure me back.
