For my wedding I didn't want to waste money on flowers or centerpieces so I wanted a favor that was decorative and useful for my guests (I didn't want to let my Nana collect another swan or glass slipper!) We collaborated with Stephania and we decided to give away espresso cups with coffee beans. I gave Stephania samples of the colors of my wedding and she did the rest. Also, she really tried to help us stay within our budget and I greatly appreciated her work and business etiquette. I feel very lucky to have found her because she really helped add flair to me wedding. (I hope to have my wedding pictures soon so I can show you my favors)

FabMo is a wonderful community resource that I wish more people knew about. Run by a cadre of…read moremostly women volunteers, this organization rescues discontinued samples from upscale design showrooms in San Francisco. Housed in a small Sunnyvale warehouse, the organization says that each year, they keep about 70 tons (!) of material from going to the landfill. FabMo hosts regular sales open to the public as well as biannual "free giveaway" events. Customers can find tile, carpet, textile fabrics, wallpaper and more. Many materials are provided for free to teachers and there are also donations from the local community. Quilting fabrics, silk fabrics, jewelry making items, sewing notions, leather, decorations and much, much more are offered for sale in person or online through the FabMo eBay store. The only thing I wish that FabMo would do is to develop a partnership with WomenSV - a non-profit group based in the neighboring town of Los Altos. WomenSV helps women get out of abusive relationships. A little known fact about California family law is that, while the legal process is ongoing, individuals are prohibited from selling or using community property to make money. This allows for a continuation of financial abuse by the more powerful partner as they can delay the legal process indefinitely. In my own case, the divorce has been going on for three years as my ex has blocked me from accessing funds that are legally mine. Thanks to the low and no-cost materials I got from FabMo, I have been able to make and sell small craft items in order to buy groceries and obtain veterinary care for my service dog. As FabMo already hosts regular crafting lessons, I wonder if FabMo could somehow do community outreach to provide materials and teach skills to women trying to leave their abusers. Even people who have already managed to escape could benefit from the amazing work that the FabMo volunteers do. They're so successful at saving materials - - wouldn't it be great they could be a part of saving lives. Thanks, FabMo!

Initially I was very excited to take a 4 week pottery class because it was a hobby I have been…read morethinking about trying for a long time but my experience here has honestly dampened my interest in pursuing pottery further I'm unsure if it's typical protocol but essentially the instructor would do one tutorial and then let the class figure it out from there. He would then focus on his own pieces instead of checking on how to students were doing. The classes rarely started on time because the instructor would be eating their late lunch and would consistently forget what he taught us the previous week. Because there was poor time management, we would be working on pieces and then 15 minutes before the class would end, we would be told we have to start cleaning up so everyone would rush to finish what they were doing Because there was barely any hands on instruction, I was constantly watching online videos from other pottery instructors before class to teach myself the tips I was missing from my own instructor The studio also lacked a proper storage system, so every single week we came in, our pieces were in a different place which made it extremely difficult to find our work -- I lost a few pieces because of this The overall experience has been so disappointing and a waste of time and money - if you are serious about making pottery a hobby, I would suggest looking for a different pottery studio

However there are several additional and unexpected cost, a $10 or $12 fee to upgrade your container, the one included is very small. Once you upgrade to a more decent container there is a $10 fee for extra wax, $1 fee to dye your wax, $1 per dried rose buds, $1 for 5 small stones ( smaller than an ant size), and $1 for 3 small wax charms. (3 charms included in the original fee) 2. The class is advertised as one hour long, but after pouring the wax into the container you have to wait one hour for the wax to harden to add your decorations. The employee said we can leave and come back, but we opted to stay. Total time: approx 2 hrs 3. The music is not child appropriate. They were playing an Ariana Grande album with explicit lyrics, including the 34+35 song where she repeatedly sings "fuck me all night" . It was uncomfortable hearing that type of music with children around. In addition, the scent selection included: Sex on the Beach. Which i didn't like when my child asked innocently "i wonder what sex smells like." 4. There was a daycare or maybe a summer camp and there were several kids who were horse playing and being loud . Now Im all for summer camps and i understand kids are having fun but for them to be in the same area as the candle making area made the experience a bit chaotic. The employee did ask them to quiet down, and eventually another employee moved them to another location. 5. There a large scent selection, however most of them smelled unpleasant. The employee was nice, and offered a free rose bud and a free wax charm. Overall, I would not recommend the candle making experience.

Shopping gave me so much anxiety because of the endless options that I would usually just give up and settle for whatever was cheapest and simplest. Reaching out to a stylist was somewhat of a last-ditch effort to redefine myself and feel more like myself again after becoming a mom. Andie immediately knew the right questions to ask and really took the time to understand what I was looking for. My best advice to anyone working with her is to be as communicative and specific as possible about the types of outfits you want and the occasions you need them for, because she really does pay attention to the details you share when choosing pieces for your wardrobe. One thing I especially appreciate is that she sends her clients a monthly email with curated picks for the season. I find these incredibly helpful when I want to add something new without having to figure out on my own what's current, what works for the season, or what's actually worth buying. For someone like me who doesn't have the time or natural ability to put outfits together in a way that makes me feel good, Andie has become such a valuable resource. She's also gone beyond just clothing. After two kids and so many changes to my body, she helped me find an amazing local lingerie shop where I could be properly resized and find undergarments that made me feel beautiful again. If you're considering investing in yourself and your personal style, I can genuinely say this has been such a worthwhile investment for me. Looking good really can make you feel good, and working with Andie has helped me find that feeling again.
