Vegan Mushroom Tacos on the right and Vegan Broccolini Tacos on the left!
John R.

Cute little Taco shop located in the Stutz building off Capital Avenue. Very affordable and delicious Mexican Tacos Tortas and Burritos. All the food is homemade and tasty. Got the vegan mushroom and vegan broccolini tacos. Highly recommended. They have great sauces as well which are vegan too. Great place to grab a fresh Taco in downtown Indy!

Loved that the workers spoke spanish bc they welcomed a new customer with their friendliness, knowledge, and made-in-view meals. I loved my taco and the torta was AMAZING. I think spiciness should be a complimentary flavor and NOT the main flavor. Really loved their beans too

Incredible fish tacos that changed my life

Best tacos in the city. Hands down. Insanely delicious handmade tortillas and I love how often a new special comes on the menu. (I had a torta that was the most incredible thing I've ever eaten.) We have made trips downtown just to get these tacos. And they are all so nice and you'll get your food so quickly. It's amazing. We love ordering online, having a drink at Turner's, and then eating there or taking it home. Truly can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

Carnitas ! With all the fixings

Yum ! Elevated mexican street food. I got the carnitas tacos with all the fixins. I liked the little side of rice and beans you can get too. Couple it with some brews at the bar next door and you have yourself a fun little destination.

Being from California it's hard to be impressed by a taco but Julieta's hits the mark. Tortillas are homemade and the meat (tried Al pastor and pollo asada) was well marinated. Fun concept too; ordered our food and headed next door to Turners for a drink. Food was passed through a window that connects the two places. Tacos/Quesadilla are $5 each, but have a good amount of meat and are filling. Workers were almost super friendly!

Al pastor (bottom) & carnitas (top)

Best tacos in Indy The carnitas were my favorite. The tortillas were fresh and really held up even with how juicy the tacos were. The al pastor tacos were also good, but not as good in my opinion. The quesadilla was tasty if you want a cheesy treat. My only critique is the food was quite salty. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Limited seating but you can eat your food inside of Turner's bar next door!

Deliciousness!

Julieta has become a wonderful, local fave of mine and I'm so happy to share the goodness and create fans with my niece and nephew. Makes my heart so warm to hear they go back without me! They have an amazing mushroom taco, theres nothing else like it in Indy! I swear! And if you add vampiro to it, chefs kiss! They staff is always so warm and welcoming! Def love the feeling of entering and its like visiting w/close friends. There is inside seating with overflow seating into the var next door. But I do LOVE eating outside in the courtyard too. The vibe of the Stutz building is just really fun and chill. Crazy to think its literally smack dab downtown with the chaos of traffic all around. You definitely dont feel the hustle and bustle of the downtown chaos, its so chill! Check em out! U wont regret it and I promise you too will find your fave, go to!

Julieta has amazing options for vegetarian/vegans. I opted for 2 al Pastor tacos, rice and beans. While the portions were smaller, the flavor was amazing. Everything, including the tortillas are made in house. It was a packed house on the day I was there. There are not many places to sit but you can order and take it next door to tuners bar.

Three Hot Sauces, Two Tacos, and One Torta

Wake up and smell the cerveza, it's Torta time! Marketing would tell you that calling this spot a taco shop will attract more people. Ball knowledge would tell you that it's not the item to get. I'd tuck away one of these sandwiches every night if my heart allowed it. Rock up, get whatever meat really, but get that joint with cheese. Even if lactose makes you violently ill - order that Torta with cheese. You can pass on the guac addition, just to let the greatness breathe a little. Daily special look good too? Add it on the order. Not that hungry? Call somebody up and tell them dinner will be ready in ten. That's paying it forward, supporting local business, and self-care. Three to the MF dome! Wait and dine over at Turner's. Order the aforementioned cerveza, ideally a Pacifico. After a quick game of pool or staring into the bartenders eyes, grab that basket of bliss and chow. This is a meal for grunts, napkins, and head nodding. For that it's all the better. Julieta, I love you. Call me?

Man, oh man, Julieta Taco Shop was an unexpected surprise. This locally owned shop serves gourmet burritos, tacos and more from behind a tiny counter in the Stutz. The dining area only has seating for ten at a small counter. There was a steady line of people waiting for lunch during our visit. The service is friendly and food comes out fairly quickly. They greet the regulars by name. I ordered the daily soup, which was Potato Leek Soup. The soup was fabulous, creamy and hearty. My husband had the Wednesday burrito special, Pollo Asada Burrito. The burrito was huge and the chicken was fresh and flavorful. They provide hot and mild sauces for your food. The sauces are freshly made and really good. During warm weather, there is seating outside in the courtyard or you can find seating inside the Stutz in the common areas. Metered street parking is available nearby.

Oyster mushroom taco

While I was at Turner's playing BINGO (I didn't win ), I got a craving for tacos. They were taking online orders or windows through the connecting window of the businesses, so I walked a couple steps next door to place my order. It's small inside and they have some seating. It was super busy and they were out of several items, but I still opted for the oyster mushroom taco. It took about 20 mins to make, but being occupied by the BINGO game, I didn't mind. The taco tasted delicious. If you're a meat lover, you wouldn't miss out on it. They have a free standing salsa stand, so you can grab any of the sauces yourself.

Al pastor and Fried mushroom tacos

In the top 5 tacos I've had in my life. I come from south of Chicago so I'm a bit of a taco snob and these are incredible. The fried mushroom is excellent and crispy and the al pastor is seasoned so well and tender. The tortillas are unique and thick and hold up through every bite. The service was great and it's a cute little place. 10/10, will return!

Tiana W.

This taco shop is in the stutz building. I was able to find parking on the street and walk up. The taco shop was clean and I was able to order and get my food right away. I ordered the carnitas and suadero tacos. I was able to get my own taco sauce which was really nice. I got home and ate the tacos. The suadero taco was a bit on the salty side. The carnitas taco was just kinda dry and blah. All the ingredients seem of good quality. They box your tacos up and present them pretty well. I will also say that there was just way too much meat on the tacos. I believe it took away from the fresh tortillas. All in all a decent experience.

Even with the rush, I was able to snag a seat quite quickly. I was so impressed by how efficiently the staff cleared and prepared my table; it's those little touches of attentiveness that really make a difference. I decided to keep things classic and ordered the Asada Tacos. The service was remarkably swift my order arrived in under ten minutes, which is exactly the kind of efficiency I adore. While the initial presentation was a bit more understated than I anticipated, the flavor was a total 8/10 triumph! The staff was also incredibly accommodating when it came to my preferences; they brought over a lovely selection of chips and sauces, but were perfectly gracious when I mentioned I prefer to avoid the heat. These are truly some of the best tacos I've had the pleasure of trying lately. I will most certainly be a regular here!

I like a dim atmosphere, but it was hardly lit enough to read the menu. It was difficult to navigate as it was mostly in Spanish. Extremely limited vegetarian options which I'm not sure I can assume were actually without chicken base in the rice, etc. I didn't even see a vegetable fajita on the menu. My vegetarian burrito sans crema and cheese consisted of little more than rice and a couple small diced pieces of avocado and diced tomato. Iceberg lettuce? I saw corn niblets and a pea fall out. Bland. Hot sauce choices not fantastic. What kind of burrito contains no beans?? Everyone else at my table received flatware. I was given a plastic fork. Once I received an actual fork & knife, they kept tearing the paper underneath my burrito. Strangely served with raw cucumber (ick) & lime wedges on the side. Edible at best. The atmosphere looked interesting upon entry, but it felt grungy, the chairs were heavy. I was seated right next to a brick wall/chimney. Service was sparse. Definite language barrier. The dish my companions received was an array of meat in a molcajete. Mixed feedback on the peppers being ungodly too hot & some of it, especially the sausage, having a good flavor. It was massive & messy. It was interesting initially but definitely didn't look appetizing to me. That came with a bowl of beans in sauce with what we later discovered were Chicharrón on top. It looked like boiled mystery chicken skin. A friend from SoCal I consulted online had no idea what it was from my photo as we tried to discern it & they didn't realize it was even Mexican food from the appearance. It was assumed I was at an Asian joint. We had to ask for drink refills far into our meal. I was given a fresh new cup. The server took another person's cup from the table and refilled it in the back. That was strange and seemed unsanitary. We didn't get everything we asked for. I'd say language was the problem except for the fact the server had understood my requests when "crema" was the only Spanish word I used. Ladies' room had room for one person at a time. The sink was backing up. It felt dingy like the rest of the building. I'm glad they had paper towels and not just a hand blower. I didn't choose the restaurant. It was one of the worst if not THE most horrible Mexican meals & experiences I've had in my life. Hard pass. I'd gladly pay more for better fare elsewhere. I can make far superior at home.

The tacos (your choice of protein) were $1.49 each. I was honestly surprised that they had plenty of onions, cilantro, two different sauces & a baggie of radishes & limes for that price. I will say, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the shredded chicken although clearly seasoned (color wise) with sazon, it was dried completely out with only a hint of flavor. I added the green sauce on the chicken ones and it gave it a little umph but then I tasted the amazing seasoning in the rice and beans & WOW. I put a little of both on the chicken tacos and that was just what they needed. All in all the tacos were an 8/10 and the rice+beans were 10/10. The rice was cooked perfectly & the best compliment to the soupy beans. Parking: TERRIBLY positioned & shared lot, spots are tight & all the businesses stay with a crowd. Service: the cashier wasn't unpleasant BUT I had every intention on sitting down and eating inside (they have about 8 tables and 4 small booths) but she assumed I wanted it to-go without asking me as she asked the family of Spanish/hispanic/latino/a heritage before AND after me. In the moment I didn't feel slighted because I think I was just so tired & hangry but it definitely is memorable now that I'm writing the review a day later. I could have very well corrected her and said I wanted to dine in but I'm not one to force it when I feel unwanted or unwelcomed . This by no means discredits the food, it was wonderful & so was the price. I wouldn't go as far as to say I'll never be back because it would be a lie - what I WILL do moving forward is speak up for myself as it could have been done unintentionally.

Then we questioned what time they closed. We doubled checked, 9:30. It was only 8:30. I don't prefer a margarita without salt but felt stuck. Also, it wasn't as if we were the last ones to come in. I counted at least 6 parties that came in after us. The chorizo queso was excellent. The tacos were decent. However, while it may seem like a small thing, the lack of salt on the rim of my $12 margarita really sunk this place for me. The restaurant is sleek and has a cool vibe, but we immediately realized it was not going to be what we thought of when we saw "street tacos" mentioned during Google search. It's more of a metropolitan American Soul fusion place, with a heavy emphasis on loaded, uniquely flavored tacos instead of traditional Mexicana. The server was wonderful in explaining their menu and gave multiple recommendations, which I went with all of her great suggestions once I told her what I was craving. My husband didn't enjoy his appetizer, saying it tasted too sweet instead of savory for him, but the server was great at being aware of our plates and took the appetizer off our bill when she noticed he wasn't eating it without us even mentioning it. I got three different tacos, and the only one I didn't enjoy was due to the Mac n cheese that was stuffed in it. It just didn't taste or feel right having a taco with macaroni that was pushed in so densely that it became a sponge. The other two were great! My husband gave his burrito a 3/5, as he felt it was too much one note. Overall, don't come here if you're looking for upscale Mexicana, but instead want to enjoy interesting fusion flavors and fun cocktails. Great place for a group outing or celebration!

I don't usually shop at a Mexican grocery unless I am looking for cotija cheese for making elote. However, I entered the grocery because the sign in front of the restaurant entrance said it was closed. I clearly saw people working at the food counter and a customer standing there, so I went through the grocery to see what was going on. Apparently, nobody had removed the sign and left a "caution" cone blocking the door. Anyway, after the weird start, I enjoyed my experience. The colorful dining room has lots of festival streamers hanging from the ceiling and loud Mexican music playing. (Note that the grocery has an equally loud sound system playing something completely different so you get a weird stereo effect that is hard to tune out.) The dining booths go about half way back into the restaurant on both sides. Beyond the left side is a cooking area with a large menu posted over the top. Even though there is a counter at the cooking area, you don't order there. Behind you on the right near the back of the restaurant is a smaller counter with a cash register and a menu booklet that you order from. Once you place your order and pay, you wait and they will bring it out to you. Note that any beverages are sold in bottle form and are self-serve from the cooler next to the order counter. The wait was fairly short considering they prepare the entrees to order. I went with a couple tacos (with the cilantro and white onion) and ordered rice and beans. Apparently the cashier had a little trouble understanding me when I ordered the Asada and Pollo tacos. I was brought out the Asada and Lomo instead. (I was the only customer at the time.) But, instead of sending it back, I like pork loin as well as chicken, so I simply added some green sauce (mild) and a few drops of red (supposed to be hot, but I didn't think it was that hot.) The tacos were excellent. They were served on double layered corn tortillas. I usually prefer flour, but wasn't given an option here. These were the best tasting corn tortilla shells I've had. And the ingredients inside were delicious with the added items being colorfully fresh. The side of beans and rice were forgettable. Not bad, just lacking much texture and flavor. Very bland and not much other than filler when compared to the robust flavor of the tacos. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was pretty clean looking, so given the high quality of flavor, I would recommend stopping by to quench your Mexican food cravings. Review #2698

I wasn't thrilled about that, at first, but several larger groups were seated in the same area near the entrance. The booth was spacious and comfortable, and the decor is very bright and vibrant. I ordered the Marg of the Month for May, which was the Bee Sting Margarita. It is made with jalapeno honey and lots of slices of fresh jalapeno. Between those aspects and the bite of the tequila...I quickly understood why it was given that name! If you like a spicy marg, I would definitely suggest!
