We read the complaints about the office service, but both made appointments anyway. Very glad we…read moredid. Our insurance arrangements were complicated but we handled most of it over the phone when we made the appointments. Our examinations by Dr. Longnecker were simply exemplary. He listened carefully to our wishes, double-checked his work, was willing to take all the time we needed, and was very attentive, personable and professional throughout. Neither of us could have asked for more. The opticians we dealt with were also efficient and careful. They also were very understanding of the complexities of our insurance and of our wishes for some nonstandard specifications. Our experiences both were efficient and seamless. We will recommend both Dr. Longnecker and Eyemart Express very highly.

After having headaches and trouble seeing for however long, I was excited. Wrong lenses were in my glasses. Didn't realize until I got home and tried reading with them. Furious, I bring them back and ask how they could put the wrong lenses in. They say they'll take care of it, so I give the glasses back. A week later, get a text my glasses are ready. Leave work to pick them up, and they aren't there. Fed up with the gross incompetence, I ask for a refund and cancel the glasses. (At this point, it's been nearly a month since I ordered my glasses and no end in sight) Am told they can't until the manager is in and he'll give me a call. Guess who still hasn't called and guess who still doesn't have their money back. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU VALUE YOU SEEING AND YOUR MONEY!!!!!!

I had cataract surgery here 15 months ago. I have since moved and made multiple attempts to contact…read morethem about issues with my vision. I have left voice mails and not received a response. The eye doctors where I am need my records faxes to them. When I tried the option for eye emergency, because it is, I get transferred to voicemail again. No one ever answers any option except emergency, and they transfer you to a voicemail. Find someone else if you expect follow up or aid with issues after your surgery is done.

I gave the Mishawaka office two stars because 1) the employees were pleasant, and 2) my husband has…read morehad good outcomes with his cataract surgery, thank goodness. HOWEVER, both appointments were a marathon of frustration! The first day our appointment was at 10:30, and we weren't done until 3:45. We were upset to sit in the waiting room for several hours, but hoped it was an unusual day. But his next appointment a week later was for 9:30. They shuffle patients from room to room to room, doing an exam and getting papers signed. In each room there is a LOT of sitting and waiting! Finally at 11:30 we were taken to the surgery waiting room, which was full. We knew we were in for another long day when patients started telling us their appointments were for 8, 8:30, etc. So we sat, and sat, and sat! They have NO REGARD for their (mostly SENIOR patients) that have not had any water or food since the night before! FINALLY at 3:45 he was called back for surgery preparation. Guess what? The dilation of his eye that was done that morning had worn off and had to be redone!! He was so dehydrated, that it took four tries to get his IV going! (which he never has trouble with). The 10-15 minute surgery went fine. By this time it was 15 minutes until closing at 5:00. He came out of surgery, had IV and heart monitors disconnected, and was wheeled out to the car. The nurse said to help him at home because he's still weak and shakey. i can't imagine why. No post-op observation. Just put in the car, 71/2 hours later, for a procedure that takes about an hour from preparation to recovery!! The Institute needs to figure out how to fix this. Because this treatment is ridiculously inefficient!
