$5,000 for Under-Eye Filler -- An Experience I Still Regret…read more
This review is long overdue, but I believe it's worth sharing.
In 2021, I visited EpiOne for under-eye filler. It was my first time receiving this particular cosmetic treatment, and I admittedly wasn't well-versed in what the procedure should reasonably cost. I was charged $5,000, which I was required to pay upfront, before receiving any treatment.
As I recall, the price included an initial treatment and a follow-up appointment approximately three months later, during which I could receive additional filler at no extra charge.
At the time, I trusted that the pricing was reasonable and reflective of the service I was receiving. It wasn't until later, after learning more about the typical cost of under-eye filler, that I began to question just how much I'd paid.
To make matters worse, I left my second appointment with a black eye.
Looking back, what disappoints me most isn't simply the amount of money I spent. It's the feeling that, as a first-time patient unfamiliar with the procedure and its pricing, I wasn't in the best position to make an informed financial decision.
I understand that cosmetic treatments are elective, that providers set their own prices, and that bruising can occur with injectable procedures. Still, $5,000 was a substantial amount of money, and I wish I'd taken the time to compare providers, ask more questions, and better understand what I was paying for.
Five years later, this experience still bothers me. I share it not out of malice, but in the hope that someone considering a similar treatment will do their research, compare prices, and feel empowered to ask questions before committing financially.
Unfortunately, I would not return to EpiOne based on my experience.
