Its tucked away from the rest of the food places, but that leads to no line-ups, worth checking out.

Gluten-free granola is a highlight. This is the first totally safe açai bowl I've had in Canada…read more They use a coconut rather than oat base, so for all my oat-avoidant celiacs out there, this is a pleasant surprise. It's definitely worth considering taking home a bag of this granola. The predominant milk they use in their lattes is oat (gluten free), but alternatives are available. I've tried a couple of the mushroom lattes, and the Chana Charger is my favourite. The lunch bowls are predominantly gluten free or can easily be adjusted to be so. The produce is always fresh, which allows natural flavours of the ingredients to really come through and make their dishes stand out. The location on 104 St is very accessible from downtown, but if you drive, expect to pay a couple bucks for street parking. With an order at the till and sit anywhere system, it is an accessible place to go on your own and/or get some work done. There is also plenty of space to go with a group or meet for coffee. It was a bit pricey, $22 for my açai bowl and latte, but you definitely get what you pay for. And that's what keeps me coming back!

My favorites are the avocado toast with cashew cream cheese, the coconut BLT sandwich with greens, and the mint chocolate protein smoothie! Right now on Wednesday's they are having 2 for 1 drinks! Any OG Edmontonians remember when this place was Taiwan Bubble Tea with the eye soar red booths, dimmed lighting and split sitting areas that didn't go with either scheme? Yeah, well when you walk into HI Tea you don't see any remnants of that decade which I'm glad we've moved on from. They've managed to renovate the space and make it more modern with LIGHT! Nothing like a 2018 cafe without some scattered potted plants for decoration, wooden panels for an accent wall and of course tables and chairs with the same wood to blend it all together. Ah, now Hi tea you've sure got the aesthetics down now! Now to their menu, before Hi Tea became Hi tea it was a split between Taiwan bubble tea and Cheers Cut (that place with the giant flimsy piece of chicken that was half bone and looked nothing like the display out front) Food wasn't great, and it was more of a novelty visit more than anything. Fast Forward to today, food wise nothing really different or tantalizing, same mix of Taiwanese snacks and bowls and bentos. Bubble tea prices start from $4.80 for an artificial flavor all the way to $7.50 for milkshakes and milk caps. More epensive than coco's but -OKAY HI TEA. We got the Toufu Mik Tea - ($6.xx) - Bae liked this a lot, One of their specialty drinks that wasn't on their main menu but a seperate picture poster, pretty unique! Super Fruit Iced Tea ($6.99) - I paid 7 dollars for a cup for 70% sliced fruit, lol. I mean it was good, but like $7. This was my bad. It was on a poster and looked super pretty. Competition especially around this area will probably be the reason why I wouldn't revisit. Not a bad place to go if you're in to try for something different though.
