Hot chocolate ($4.75)
Jonny M.

Never been to Credo Coffee before but have passed by it many, many times. It's located next door to Prairie Noodle House. The location is interesting as you have to walk downstairs to get in. They have two locations downtown (104 Street and in the Enbridge Centre). We dropped in on a Friday afternoon (around 3:00pm). The inside is spacious with an interesting mix of seating. Very industrial, chic decor. We sat in the area with the office lounge chairs. Seems like a good spot to get some work done. - Chai latte ($4.75) - coffee art is on point but flavour wise, we were unimpressed. Not much chai tones. Wouldn't get it again. - Hot chocolate ($4.75) - M is pretty particular about her hot chocolates. This one was pretty average in her books. I'd concur with that. The drinks weren't too impressive but we enjoyed the chill vibes and the space. As one friend always puts it, sometimes it's about the "experience". Personally, I'd rather hit up Chocorrant over Credo if you're in this area.

A distressingly crunchy coffee. Atmosphere: 3/5 - Modern & sleek. Not the best lighting. Seat spacing is good. Price: $$$$/5 - Per volume, way above average pricing for a caffeinated beverage. Customer Service: 2/5 - Server was rude. Service speed was average. Location: 4/5 - Lots of great foodie stores nearby. Transit nearby. Taste: 1/5 - My latte was tooth grindingly full of espresso beans. Menu: 2/5 - Menu is small and doesn't have any unique items. Sustainability: 1/5 - Couldn't find info on ingredient sourcing. No advertised sustainable initiatives. Strengths - Good Location. Weaknesses - Taste, no sustainable initiatives. Good items to buy: Summary: 2.2/5 - Overall, I would not recommend stopping by Credo. They have expensive drinks that don't taste very good. Their menu is small and doesn't have any unique items to draw you back. I'm not sure if it is their thing or something but as shown in the photo above my drink was full of espresso grains; so much so that it was grinding my teeth like sand. Additionally, the barista was very rude to us for no apparent reason. The largest improvement I think they could make is getting the grains out of their drinks. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and I hope it helps you!!

Mmm delicious latte

This is another spot near my workplace, and I swung by today for coffee, a snack, and a spot to do some work. This cafe has a pretty modern vibe- lots of funky furniture, tile, and an impressive coffee bar. I found the furniture to be a little uncomfortable- I had to switch chairs a couple of times until I found one the right height that didn't hurt my back (the stools at the window tables are a bit too high, even if you're short like me! A low table is what you want, my friend.) I think the biggest downfall of this place for me was the music. They had some instrumental music on for a while that had a fast pace to it and seemed almost anxiety-inducing (and I don't usually pay that much attention to background music). Then there was some kind of hip-hop/electronic mix, which didn't seem to jive with the other music. So that was confusing, and I wasn't a fan, but it isn't a deal breaker by any means. I had a really tasty latte, and a while later I was feeling a bit snacky so I tried the house-made granola bar the staff member recommended to me. Whatever they put in that thing... they're doing it right. I could have eaten the whole damn tray. Settle down, Credo. So overall, this is a pretty good spot. The trick is to play Goldilocks until you find just the right seat, and bring headphones if you have music preferences. Otherwise you're in for some tasty coffee and some seriously delicious treats. (GET THE GRANOLA BAR. DO IT.)

Delicious americano and blueberry muffin on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

I regularly go to Credo on 104th Street and 101 Ave and love it. This location does not disappoint. The baristas are pleasant and know how to make a great americano. The blueberry muffin I ate today was tasty. Maybe a touch more on the oily side than I would like but the blueberries made the muffin with their juicy flavor. Love to just sit and hang out here visiting friends or by myself reading a book.

Just like the original! This new addition to high street will be welcomed with open arms. On it's opening day (today) I am thrilled to see the place full of customers come in to he their lunchtime cup of joy! If you are a fan of the original there is nothing holding you back from this new little spot. Credo 2 as I like to call it boasts much more space for seating and a significantly larger coffee bar and condiments area. I can't say enough good things about this place and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Still the best London fog in the world! So happy I found these guys! The staff are easy on the eyes too :)

Heavenly velvety latte

worlds greatest latte. Velvet smooth coffee perfect temperature friendly staff! Great fast service, I love that the cups are out with sizes. While , decanted treats surrounds you with the buzz of happy caffeine filled voices. A great place to chill.

It's always nice to find a cafe that knows how to do things right. Great coffee and a comfortable spot to meet with friends or business associates. Doesn't hurt that they also feature Jacek Chocolate! What could go better with a delicious European latte?

Coffee was good but location and service was great. Couple tables for outdoor and dog friendly was a nice surprise. Get the granola bar.

Top notch coffee with a great seating area to chill. Highly recommended. Espresso and pour-overs are especially good.

The chairs don't fit my fat ass, and the stools look like they were imported from Whoville. Otherwise, solid.

Very good coffee. The decor of the location isn't great, but not bad. I would definitely come again if I'm around this area.

another hidden cafe gem in Edmonton close to the high level bridge…read more It's a cool cafe that looks like a house from the outside.

Oh. Em. Squeal!!!!!…read more First off, mad props to my friend for introducing me to this charming new addition to the coffee scene. Stop Gap opened just under a month ago in Oliver. They describe themselves as a temporary (stop gap) means to filling a need - coffee - served with an intentional and caring heart. Caleb Kam, the owner, is warm and inviting. He definitely knows his coffee. You may know him from his former life at Brown Butter Cafe. Caleb focuses on Canadian, fresh, and local! I spotted Ace and Candid today (Edmonton gems). The clientele were sweet and happy to offer up their faves! Nathan, a regular, told me Caleb is the go to for the best pour over in town. I opted for a Dirty Chai - made to perfection and my friend had a oat milk chai complete with milk art adorning the top. Both beverages were perfection. Coffee can be consumed in house complete with adorable coasters (el gato was my fave naturally, meow) or taken to go. For seating, there is a cute bench against the window front and a side room available if not booked. Caleb also had fresh donuts from Fuzion in Chinatown. My friend and I shared the cake and Cinnamon bun donut today. Sooo ridiculously good. Be sure to check Fuzion out online - they don't have a storefront so you will need to order in advance if you are looking to up your donut game at your next office meeting. I seriously can't wait to come back here again! Oh and they also have a beautiful meeting space available for rent on the main floor in case you want to bring your next staff meeting to the best coffee in town! Such a true pleasure meeting you today, Caleb! Stop Gap is exactly what YEG needs!
