I nice cafe right on 124st ( great location to grab a to go coffee and shop down 124st and look into all the art galleries) It has a small but nice patio A typical coffee menu with muffins chocolate and wraps ( veg one included) I ordered a vanilla latte. I was happy to learn that they had milk alternatives and they don't use a vanilla syrup more of a vanilla paste The small was a little pricy $7 but it was good. Decided to check this place out while I was in the area. Unfortunately, I had plans to grab coffee elsewhere so not sure how good this coffeehouse is. Only 2 other people here at 4PM on a Thursday but lots of seating for a nice coffee date. They have Jacek chocolates which I may have to go back for! They also have their own coffee (beans) which leads me to believe their coffee must be good. There baked goods selection was a muffin or homemade granola bar. I tried the granola bar. This was my first time going there. The place has a very nice atmosphere and design, serious but polite staff, and good quality products and service. For people who need to drive there, like me, parking may become an issue since there are not a lot of free parking in this area. Never been to Credo Coffee before but have passed by it many, many times. It's located next door to Prairie Noodle House. The location is interesting as you have to walk downstairs to get in. They have two locations downtown (104 Street and in the Enbridge Centre). We dropped in on a Friday afternoon (around 3:00pm). The inside is spacious with an interesting mix of seating. Very industrial, chic decor. We sat in the area with the office lounge chairs. Seems like a good spot to get some work done. - Chai latte ($4.75) - coffee art is on point but flavour wise, we were unimpressed. Not much chai tones. Wouldn't get it again. - Hot chocolate ($4.75) - M is pretty particular about her hot chocolates. This one was pretty average in her books. I'd concur with that. The drinks weren't too impressive but we enjoyed the chill vibes and the space. As one friend always puts it, sometimes it's about the "experience". Personally, I'd rather hit up Chocorrant over Credo if you're in this area. read more

Taste: 1/5 - My latte was tooth grindingly full of espresso beans. Menu: 2/5 - Menu is small and doesn't have any unique items. Sustainability: 1/5 - Couldn't find info on ingredient sourcing. No advertised sustainable initiatives. Strengths - Good Location. Weaknesses - Taste, no sustainable initiatives. Good items to buy: Summary: 2.2/5 - Overall, I would not recommend stopping by Credo. They have expensive drinks that don't taste very good. Their menu is small and doesn't have any unique items to draw you back. I'm not sure if it is their thing or something but as shown in the photo above my drink was full of espresso grains; so much so that it was grinding my teeth like sand. Additionally, the barista was very rude to us for no apparent reason. The largest improvement I think they could make is getting the grains out of their drinks. I wasn't sure I would like the environment here for the a business meeting but it was great and not too crowded or noisy! Arriving right after lunch there were a handful of people but during the afternoon and leaving mid afternoon, it was almost full. There are people having meetings or working on their Macs. The woman who took my drink order was friendly and I ordered a mint tea. She told me it would take 5 minutes so I went to have a seat. They brought a large silver tea pot and a tea cup and saucer. I like that I could have multiple cups of tea and really liked the cup and saucer touch. The mint tea did not have a strong taste and I would have preferred it steeped longer but it was still warm on a cold day. During the conversation, I couldn't hear the conversation at the table beside us and it was pretty comfortable and not dark. There were 2 bathrooms and the one I used was clean and large. I would come back if I'm in the area to meet friends or a work meeting. read more

This is another spot near my workplace, and I swung by today for coffee, a snack, and a spot to do some work. This cafe has a pretty modern vibe- lots of funky furniture, tile, and an impressive coffee bar. I found the furniture to be a little uncomfortable- I had to switch chairs a couple of times until I found one the right height that didn't hurt my back (the stools at the window tables are a bit too high, even if you're short like me! A low table is what you want, my friend.) I think the biggest downfall of this place for me was the music. They had some instrumental music on for a while that had a fast pace to it and seemed almost anxiety-inducing (and I don't usually pay that much attention to background music). Then there was some kind of hip-hop/electronic mix, which didn't seem to jive with the other music. So that was confusing, and I wasn't a fan, but it isn't a deal breaker by any means. I had a really tasty latte, and a while later I was feeling a bit snacky so I tried the house-made granola bar the staff member recommended to me. Whatever they put in that thing... they're doing it right. I could have eaten the whole damn tray. Settle down, Credo. So overall, this is a pretty good spot. The trick is to play Goldilocks until you find just the right seat, and bring headphones if you have music preferences. Otherwise you're in for some tasty coffee and some seriously delicious treats. I regularly go to Credo on 104th Street and 101 Ave and love it. This location does not disappoint. The baristas are pleasant and know how to make a great americano. The blueberry muffin I ate today was tasty. Maybe a touch more on the oily side than I would like but the blueberries made the muffin with their juicy flavor. Love to just sit and hang out here visiting friends or by myself reading a book. read more

On it's opening day (today) I am thrilled to see the place full of customers come in to he their lunchtime cup of joy! If you are a fan of the original there is nothing holding you back from this new little spot. Credo 2 as I like to call it boasts much more space for seating and a significantly larger coffee bar and condiments area. I can't say enough good things about this place and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Still the best London fog in the world! So happy I found these guys! I was expecting more because this place had been bigged up so much and I do like the smaller 104 Street location. It's definitely a nice space, with the rustic/industrial style interior. It's pretty trendy, I can imagine it's a busy place to be at the weekend. Thankfully, I was there midweek and even snagged a table to pull out my laptop and do a bit of work. The coffee was really nice and clearly made from high quality coffee beans. I was buzzing haha There wasn't many food options to choose from, so I settled for a latte. Had their cheese scone and it was delicious. I tried their vanilla latte and my bf tried the chai tea latte and we would not come back. My latte had a lot of espresso grinds in it and the chai wasn't sweet at all. The price you are paying for such a small drink also isn't worth it($7/drink). Where to start with Credo? It's famous in the 124 st parts, and I have been hearing rave reviews for years! I was really looking forward to my first cup of legendary local coffee, and am quite disappointed by my entire visit. I ordered a black Americano (1 shot espresso plus hot water); my favourite way to judge coffee shops is by drinking its coffee :P . It was expensive - with 15% tip it came to $4.50. Standing at the counter, there was a disappointing retail section/shelf where bags of coffee beans, coffee paraphernalia is sold. Shelves were kind of empty, and nothing more than the beans and Aeropress and a random grinder were for sale. Many local coffee shops are gold mines for cute/neat/unique coffee accessories; Credo certainly fails in the regard. I also noticed Credo sources Intelligentsia beans...I was worried immediately (another local bakery uses their beans and the coffee is not good). True to form, my black Americano lacked depth and, while it had crema, it wasn't robust enough to stay together while I took my cup to the table. Overall, my Americano came across as a medium roast cup of coffee - NOT what I came in for! Finally, the decor is functional/minimalist...to the point of making you wonder if they forgot something. It's very empty inside and lacks a convivial atmosphere (there aren't even signs on the washroom doors indicating that they are washrooms). If that was the intention of the decor, then I think the owners missed a crucial aspect of client experience (ie. knowing where to go to meet needs) If you're in the area jonesing for caffeine, there are a lot of MUCH better options!! read more

I'm a fan of Credo, no matter the location or the decor. I love the Intelligentsia espresso and they make a deliciously creamy latte. And of course, no one makes better muffins (cheddar cornmeal and morning glory are my faves). In fact, if Credo was ever broken into and the only thing missing was the muffin recipes... well, just don't be surprised is all I'm saying. I've already been told the recipes are kept at this location. (lol... it's okay, I'm not THAT crazy). I do prefer this location over the 104 street location, in terms of decor and set up/seating space. This is of course purely subjective and has no effect on the quality of their drinks...both places do really well on that front. But I do find this location to be much more spacious and bright. Yes, it's technically in a basement, but with the huge windows on the front, and the side windows as well, it gets a lot of bright light. If I were to sit and enjoy my drink, I would choose this location. Except one day I'm going to do a face-plant going up those stairs. I don't know what my problem is, but I always seem to trip at the bottom going up. read more

A west end location of one of the best coffee shops in Edmonton. Larger and spacier than the original, this location of Credo has lot of seating and is well lit. I enjoyed one of their famous lattes as well as a granola bar that was incredibly soft and filling. A nice place to come with a laptop and enjoy a good cup of something with the free wifi. read more

Decided a post lunch stop requires some good Java and chocolate. Credo on 124th was a stop over after a good bowl of Ramen. Regular hours during the week and Saturday no difference in its popularity. Known for its delivery of the highest certified quality of coffee, Credo looks for number one coffee bean to serve in that season. Partnered up with Jacek - chocolatier, serves quality chocolate products individually or specialty boxed. Had the cappicino and olive&basil chocolate. Baristas extremely nice. Can stay in or take out. Small work tables or tables to mingle makes a comfortable feeling. Have to walk down stairs , paid parking all around - hours of operation on line. I usually come over the weekend to this location because it is easy to access off 124th and I can grab a package of the seasonal beans to enjoy at home :). read more

If you are looking for outlets, not good. Had to sit at the low counter with high unergonomic stools. Also the counter serves as the condiment area and the used tableware drop-off, so people would have to pass closely between your back and a what looks to be a supporting pillar. Service was meh, ordered a pour over and seemed like a bunch of latte orders after me, got their stuff before I did. This is at least more spacious then their 104 St location. read more

Just had coffee here for the first time and the coffee was delicious. It seems there aren't many places left that can make a perfect cup of black coffee - but Credo does. The atmosphere was perfect for a casual business meeting, catching up on work and visiting friends. I'll definitely be back again. read more

I loooooove Credo! But unfortunately I am so heartbroken to say that I really don't love this location - like the saying goes "Lightning doesn't strike twice". I just find this location very sterile, uncomfortable and uninviting. I have been in 3 times now, I just hope that maybe the store isn't finished, maybe there is more to come. First time coming to this location. It's right on 124 street with lots of seating inside and outside. It has an industrial feel inside. The latte was good with a darker roast and the chai latte was okay, however lots of settled Chai powder settling at the bottom of my mug. I am a frequent customer of Credo. I love the coffee and muffins and usually the service. But today I was extremely disappointed of the service. I ordered a regular mocha and a large latte. When I got to the counter there were two regular sized instead of what I ordered. I told the barista about the error, his answer... Well that's what you paid for! He then went on to say he could remake a large one, but it'll cost me. I don't mind paying good money for good coffee, but to say this as if it were my fault? Coming from Vancouver, my husband and I consider ourselves coffee aficionados (lol), and we were very worried coming to Edmonton that the coffee scene here wouldn't stand up to the fantastic places we are used to... Well thanks to my sister in law, we have found our new go to! I was wandering around downtown Edmonton doing some shopping and wanted a warm drink to help ease the chill from the wind so I wandered on in to Credo for my first ever visit. It's a very attractive and trendy looking space and the staff are quite nice. The lady at the till was especially helpful and gave me some good drink recommendations. The prices are what one would expect to pay at Starbucks or Second Cup but like Amanda N. mentioned the size of the cups are quite small. The drink was good but not good enough in my opinion to justify the price. A nice place to go as a treat or for a downtown meet up with friends but I could never see myself making it a daily stop like some of my other fellow yelpers. read more

Credo used to have my fav Matcha latte - delicious and beautiful latte art. I am greatly disappointed by what i got today - 7 bucks (so overpriced) and a smudge of green milk on top. No eye contact or smile from the barista and the girl at the cash seems lack of enthusiasm and knowledge in coffee - these are the impression i got from my numerous visits to this location. We went to this location yesterday to try it out (we frequently go to the one on 104 st) and I have to say that we were extremely disappointed. Although it's a much nicer store inside and very pleasant to sit in, the coffee had a starbucks-esque burnt taste and the pour was very bad. On top of the coffee was hockey puck of micro foam designed to catch the coffee's waste, rather than accentuate a good pour. I would suggest to have a few staff come from the other location and do some training if it hasn't already been done. Hopefully we caught someone on a bad day and this isn't going to be a common occurrence. read more

Their coffee is pour over which is nice, but it would be nice to also have more generic drip coffee going during the day. I love this place and it's great for studying, reading, casual dates, meetings, you name it, but missing the average coffee drinker clientele, I think :) read more
