I usually have fresh juice so today my baby brother picked us up some juice but hadn't had any since getting to NYC. We had the daily detox and supa dupa greens accompanied by the strawberry dragon fruit and blueberry açaí vegan donuts. The juices were well balanced, pretty smooth and fresh, but the donuts were meh. The taste was okay, but I've had better which brought the solid 4 for juice down to a 3.5. Nice stop for you juice. read more

Been a loyal customer at this location since it's onset - Any review til present would EASILY have been a strong 5 , no hesitation!!! TODAY ? At best , wobbly 2.5 : the overall customer service / experience is CONSISTENTLY INCONSISTENT there is now an obvious A , B , C, and D team running the day to day operations !! Friendliness and efficiency are %100 dependent on who is working that day ! Disappointing to say the very least ! read more

Love this juice/smoothie spot! Prices aren't bad (think $6-$10) and they offer 2 different sizes, 12 and 20 oz. They have a great menu of protein and fruit smoothies as well as really great juice combo's. They even have mini coconuts in which they cut open and blend the meat and milk into the most delicious smoothie ever served in the coconut shell. Looking for a real lunch and not just liquid? They have acai bowls and some gluten free baked goods. Very clean, bright, definitely a great spot for a healthy pick-me-up. read more

I found Juice Generation within walking distance of the Gallivant Hotel. I ordered the Vital Shot which had Ginger, Lemon, and Cayenne Pepper. I felt a little groggy waking up and that helped me get going about my day. The "Get Your Green On" was refreshing. It has Spinach, Kale, Pineapple, Mint, and Apple. It's more on the sweeter side but definitely tasty. I was on the go and the juice kept me full for about 3 hours. I'll be going again. I gave this place 4/5 stars only because the cost of the juice was pretty price. It was $9 per bottle however, nonetheless a healthy start to my day. read more

Had acai bowls with a large group after taking a soul class together (high #basic levels achieved bright and early on Saturday morning) - we were so happy we stopped here after! We were famished after our somewhat (read: very intense) spin class. Given I don't spin very much, I was really excited to refuel with Juice Generation! I got the PB Acai bowl - for around $10, it was delicious. A generous portion size (easily can substitute as a post workout meal / heavy snack) topped with peanut butter, banana, and granola. My bf tried the watermelon smoothie - also delicious with great watermelon / berry flavors. I would prefer it to be a bit thicker, but it still hit the spot. When we're back in town, we will be back! read more

I love the smell of this place especially in summer. The instant you walk in you are embraced by the fresh small that makes you feel so proud of yourself to be here taking care of your body. Cons: It is too expensive!!! I wish I could have a juice everyday but it's simply too expensive. :( Maybe consider lowering the price to attract more customers like me? :) read more

I was very pleasantly surprised. I half expected a ridiculously overpriced juice bar with bad tasting juices. Not so! The place IS expensive, to be honest, but the quality and food options are fantastic. - Supa Dupa Greens: spinach, kale, parsley, romaine, cucumber, celery, lemon & apple (110 cal) for $6.95. Crazy expensive for just 12 oz? Yes, but all of the veggies are fresh,. washed and neatly chopped from what it appears, and the place is clean. The juice tasted great. - Berry Multigrain muffin: Mmm for $2.25, this delicious 154 cal muffin was DELICIOUS. Super healthy, and I loved the texture. All in all, for a $10 breakfast, I was very satisfied and would return occasionally (despite the crazy high prices...). The selection of juices and smoothies are great if you're indecisive like me and don't know what you want in your juices. If only they reduced their prices, they'd get five stars from me... read more

Daily detox was super good. Tons of ginger with a carrot/apple base - delicious! Also had the mango smoothie (don't remember the exact name). It was great and at least tasted on the healthy side, though I'm sure it was not in the least... read more

Have great smoothies, Fresh produce and super delicious. Always a great option on the go. I'm a big fan of their PB açaí bowl.

Pretty awesome! Had the cashew baby smoothie with hemp milk. The hemp milk gave the otherwise sweet smoothie a more subtle taste. It went down very easy and was great to taste :) I haven't tried anything else yet, but as far as the place; its clean and the staff are friendly. Exactly what you'd want in the city. Fast service and decent people Cheers! read more

5 Stars, period. This is probably the best that juice gets. Everyone knows about Jamba Juice, this is Jamba Juice on steriods...totally taking it to a next level... The juices and smoothies here are super fresh, healthy, flavorful, and expensive...but once you try it, you will want to come back for more...it is that good.... Best for after work out or meal replacement! read more

Awesome Smoothie Place .. so many choices. I was able to change the peanut butter for almond butter in my smoothie, which was convenient. All in all an awesome place to get a smoothie. Honestly we come in here at least twice a week and more often than not as of late, these are what the bowls look like when we get home. What are we paying $11.00 per bowl for again? You're better off going somewhere like Fresh from Hell or Playa Bowls to get better options. read more

Awful awful awful costumer service!! The owner of the franchise actually took time out of his jet set life .to throw myself and a friend out of this store for live steaming.. he claim we were "stealing " from him!! The event a question happened a few years ago.. myself and a friend name 2livas Were horsing around with a new app called Periscope. When all of a sudden behind us appeared an irate man asking us to please turn that thing off!! After we complied he berated us telling us we were stealing his Intellectual property and that he did not give us permission to record in here. As we attempt to apologize he asked us to leave his store.. we did and I've never gone back.. read more

This place SMELLS healthy & fresh! LOL. I'd definitely choose Juice Generation over Jamba Juice any day. The prices are similar, but Juice Generation drinks seem less sweet (meaning.. less sugar?) and there's also a good variety of different types of juices, smoothies and shakes. The staff was friendly (kinda too friendly; the guy winked at me... whatever). Regardless, definitely stop by and try one of their drinks. I had the pomegranate smoothie (forgot the name, but it had berries with pomegranate juice), and it was indeed awesome. read more

This is like the new generation of Jamba Juice. I believe New York was one of the cities that started the whole green juice trend..and Juice Generation is up there with the top juice bars. I was a fan of everything I ordered -- supa dupa greens (of course), daily detox, and even the amazing green acai bowl! The last one was a pretty intimidating dark green color with a goopy texture, but it actually tasted really good. Each time I've been to this location, the line hasn't been very long, and the service has been very efficient. They're also very understanding of new customers and explain all their menu items really well; they aren't snooty expecting that you know how everything works. FYI -- the pressed juices bottled in the fridge include fiber, but the juices made to order do not include the fiber. Reliable, friendly, and tasty, every time. read more

Wow!!! Those carrots are huge! I have never seen vegetables so big omg!!! I mean where do they get them. They look like they are on lots of steroids. They are definitely not natural. I will not be putting this in my body. I understand vegetable are expensive but it's not right to charge so much for juice ave serve vegetables on steroids. What good does this do for our body. The only thing this helps is put more money in the owners pocket. We come here to be healthy and this guy just serves us garbage. Stay away unless you like GMO's. read more

My açaí bowl this morning was watery, tasteless, with a few chunks of fruit and a sprinkling of granola -- I didn't bother taking a photo, but it looked exactly like another commenter's photo below (the one complaining about paying $11 for it.) Not worth it, not by any means. read more

The staff here are super friendly and, for a frequent customer like me, they memorized my order so much so that one of them started making it the moment I walked in and was waiting on line and while preparing other orders at the same time! Delicious smoothies that aren't loaded with sugar like those at so many smoothie/juice places. The Peanut Butter Split smoothie is SO good. We also tried Mr. Greengenes and a shot of The Defender. I love this place they're nice, I just feel like I'm in a fast-food joint in this specific location. There's no real sincere conversation with the cashier just a real straightforward what's your order approach. Which I'm totally okay with. I just am used to being treated warmer or at least given a smile everytime. The organic drinks are awesome. My favorite order is the peanut butter acai bowl. read more

Overpriced and not good. I was actually really disappointed. Wanted something cold and refreshing so we stopped by here since it was our airbnb. I got the mucho mango and let me tell you my friends, it tasted nothing like mango. It was so citrusy my throat was on fire. It's summer, where is the mango at? I don't remember what my friend got but he had the same issue. His drink was supposed to taste more coconutty but it tasted like strawberries. If you're gonna mix fruits together, make sure it all balances out at least. When we walked in we loved the smell and how fresh everything was, but the smoothies were just upsetting. I wouldn't come here again. read more

I have been eyeballing juice generation after trying out a smoothie at liquiteria and an acai bowl at Two Hands. After I saw pictures online of the acai bowls, I had to come here and try one to feel healthy. I got the aloha acai bowl topped with big chunks of fresh fruit. I loved the puffed rice which gave a nice crunch to the bitter acai taste. The acai bowl was $10.45 and almost came to $12 after tax. I thought $10.50 was a fair price for the portion but $12 was a little too much. Regardless of price, the acai bowl was delicious and super filling. This location is really nice and small, there are a few high seats to eat or drink your smoothie and go. Also the location is right in the middle of the residential part of the West Village on W 4th, perfect for people watching. Juice Generation didn't really kick it out of the park for me but there are other things on the menu that I would come back for like the "I heart Watermelon Smoothie" and the "Pina Kalada" in a coconut. read more

I grew up on the North Shore of Hawaii... Surfers paradise. Pipeline, Waimea Bay, Log Cabins, Rocky Point, etc. This is where the modern açaí bowl was born and where the humble superfood concoction was first brought by Brazilian surfers to America. I distinctly remember the first açaí bowl spot in Pupukea near Waimea Bay... It was probably 15-20 years ago. I established some background here because I wanted people to know that Juice Generation serves, in my opinion, the best açaí bowl in New York city. Get the açaí bowl. Recharge your life and your day. Awesome. read more

Health nuts and smoothie purists rejoice! Finally, an amazing refreshing smoothie with exotic flavors is attainable in the heart of Hell's Kitchen. I'm a real sucker for anything that tastes delicious and is low in calories. Like other previous Yelpers have mentioned, you can taste the different between the smoothies here and the smoothies at Jamba Juice. Everything here is made of fresh fruits, fruit juice, vegetables, nonfat yogurt and sorbets with no added sugars. They bring in locally grown produce from farms around the area to use in their stores. I'm obsessed with their Tropical Mangosteen smoothie (containing the exotic Mangosteen fruit from Asia that has been banned in the U.S. until recently) and their I Heart Watermelon smoothie with fresh watermelon and the berry trinity (strawberries, raspberries and blueberries). I don't like bananas, but I have tried their Acai Soy Energy and their Smooth Strawberry smoothies and they're both SO GOOD too! Their drinks are always icy smooth and not overly sweet. I never feel guilty about downing an entire 24 oz smoothie, but if you can't finish one, they'll happily split it in half for you and a friend. One of these smoothies cost around $6, but they're so worth it! read more

Definitely my favorite Juice Generation location in the city (vs. West Village and the UWS), and not just because I live 2 blocks away. The guys working here are very friendly, and always accommodating when I ask for small alterations in my smoothies or just a little extra something. I don't usually like to splurge on designer smoothies and juices, especially since I have a Breville juicer and trusty blender at home. But, spending $6 here is worth every penny. Honestly, if I can spend anywhere between $10-$20 for a glass of wine or cocktail, what's $6 for a healthy large smoothie right?! Well, that's what I tell myself anyway... Juice Generation is hands down the best juice/smoothie shop ever because they not only offer cold and hot drinks, but also yummy sammies, salads and soups. Unlike other pretentious overpriced smoothie chains (ahem Jamba Juice) the ingredients here are always fresh and natural. They use agave nectar, juices, soy milk and many types of proteins and supplements for add-in. My favorites are definitely the Mate Zen smoothie, Coco Acai, Mr. Greengenes, Supa Dupa Greens, and the Cold Warrior and Ginger Guru for the hot "blends". I cannot sing enough praises for the Ginger Guru, which is like a beautiful chai latte with ginger. I always ask for more ginger when I get the Mate Zen, Cold Warrior, and Ginger Guru... because trust me, you cannot go wrong with ginger. Just a heads up, their smoothies come in one size at 16 ounces. I think it's actually the perfect amount, satisfying enough to be a meal if you add some soy or whey protein. read more

Another one of Juice Generation's shops based in Hell's Kitchen and conveniently close to all healthy and goody eateries. Living a healthy lifestyle in NYC comes with hefty price tags... and Juice Generation makes it relatively affordable and possible for most. With variety of healthy options such as fresh juices, smoothies, acai bowls, concentrated shots, aka Juice Farmacy, cold pressed juices and salad plates, I was most impressed with "The Professional". A freshly made juice for maximum nutrition...which consists of swiss chard, kale, apple, cucumber, lemon, ginger, spinach, collard greens and wheatgrass. It was also cool to find an assortment of guilty pleasures like banana/pumpkin muffins, matcha/strawberry baked donuts, brownies and cookies. Who says you can't have one without the other... juice on one hand, donut on the other... a perfect harmony! read more

Not wanting coffee again, I stopped in Juice Generation for something after lunch; I had been to JG some time ago. I checked out their menu of smoothies, acai bowls, protein shakes etc. I got the protein buzz shake with agave and almond milk-it was delicious. It is also good because it holds you; you don't feel hungry in 2 hours. It is pricey but I would recommend and return. read more

I love their juices and I shop there at least a couple times a week and I love the bakery selection but come on with the crazy prices. I don't mind paying 4 dollars for a muffin but don't give me a bite size muffin for that price. I need 4 of those muffins to make a whole muffin. Just annoying how you can mess up your reputation with such a simple item. read more

Four stars are accurate for this place. Excellent, healthy smoothies (not filled with added sugar **ahem** Jamba Juice **ahem**) I'm in love with their acai bowls, particularly the Amazing Green (aptly named). Friendly staff too! Last week I ordered my regular acai bowl but decided to add a protein boost. Somehow they made way too much and offered me the extra smoothie in a cup; So often places will just throw away the excess. One day I will try one of the delicious Cooler Cleanse meals, but I'm always distracted by the smoothies. The negatives? Virtually no seating at this location and (because it's a smoothie place) it's loud. If I'm out and about I have to take my Acai bowl someplace to eat. Not a problem when it's nice out, but sucks when it's cold or raining. The prices can be steep, but you get what you pay for. read more

If you've ever juiced your own green juice with kale, spinach and any variety of fruits, you would find that 16 oz of kale requires a LOT of kale to produce. After trying on my own, I would happily pay the $8 or $9 for one from JG. All of the JG locations tend to be small, but this one is especially tiny. What I love about it is its proximity to MPHC Climbing gym for a much-needed post climb protein boost, and the fact that the staff has always been super friendly. I really love their Kale Kolada (sometimes served in a coconut shell!) and Joyful Almond. I like getting the Joyful Almond without agave. Any shake with bananas or other fruit in it is always sweet enough for me without agave needed. While I love the taste of the Coco Acai shake, I really cannot justify 50g of sugar! I stay away from the Acai bowls for the same reason, although if you're looking to try one, Aloha Acai and Amazing Green bowls are slightly lower in sugar than the others. I love this place still, it's high-quality and super convenient to come fuel up on a relatively healthy snack or a meal replacement if you go for a smoothie - just pay attention to the sugar as they vary enormously. --- Fun, less-than-healthy game: take a shot for each time I use the word "agave" or "sugar" in this review. read more

This place gets 1 star based on the fact that I was charged over $5 for a measly cup of soup... $5?!?!?! There was a sign outside advertising fresh, organic, homemade soups so I decided to check it out. Of course there were no prices listed on the menu board inside, so I just ordered a small. When the clerk said "$5.35" I thought I had heard him wrong, so asked him to repeat. Nope, sure was $5.35. What a gip! Even an amazing soup nazi-esque soup shouldn't cost $5 for less than 8 ounces... and it wasn't even that great. Oh, and you also get a mini slice of lackluster brown bread. Maybe after I simmer down I'll go in and try a smoothie... but I doubt it. read more
