Cold Warrior® Hot
Kay T.

This drink saved my sinuses on a horrible seasonable allergy day. My sis and I stopped in on our way to our birthday brunch and this was the best thing ever. The Cold Warrior is served hot or cold and I believe only comes in one size. The service was also great.

My kids wanted to stop here on our way back from the Statue of Liberty, as it is centrally located. The building is bright and inviting, and the menu is geared towards the health-conscious. Service is walk-up style but friendly. Lots of Options and flavors to Choose from and all are probably equally yummy.

If you're looking for something fresh and delicious, this is the spot. The staff were friendly. The juice delicious. It was very clean inside. Alot of options!

15 bucks for a smoothie is pretty crazy to me but not gonna lie it was pretty good. Perfect for the hot weather, and the workers were nice. Can I justify that much for a smoothie? Eh, if it's good for my health sure, and it made the choice easier since the flavors didn't disappoint.

Stopped by for a Daily Detox juice after work, and service was quick and friendly. Juice was made quickly, and it tasted delicious. Facility looked clean.

Juice Generation for years was my go to place for acai bowls. But I've come to realize it was only because I didn't know better or of other options. Just mildly okay bowls. My husband loves this place which is why I went with three stars and not two. But I will never get from here again.

Mr. Greengenes

Stopped by for a green smoothie because I felt like I needed a cleanse. I'm usually a big green smoothie gal but I find that I'm often disappointed by green smoothies from chain smoothie places. This one was no different - although Mr. Greengenes supposedly has mango and banana in it, it didn't taste much like anything. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good; it kinda tasted like grass water. My online order was prepared promptly but I didn't know it was ready (did not get a notification) and I didn't know it was sitting behind the counter until I asked for it. Overall, my experience at Juice Generation was fine but I probably will not be back.

Liked how they put grass and green fruit and vegetables in front where you can see them all. Shows them actually blending and making everything fresh. I liked the drink didn't have any weird flavor like some smoothie spots. when I was paying I saw the donuts in front. Got tempted because they looked cute and good. They tasted like raisin mush or fig newtons , when they clearly labeled chocolate coconut donut. Didn't taste good, too healthy for me but not surprised because after all it's a health spot ....

On our walk to time square we found this spot that does fresh juices, açaí bowls, and more. The juice menu juices all seemed like they were good. It was hard deciding so I asked the staff cashier on recommendations. The staff didn't seem to be very helpful. I ended up ordering the professional juice because of all the green healthy ingredients such as spinach, wheatgrass, kale, etc it had. The ginger also gave it a strong flavor. Felt very energized after drinking this. Great spot for a quick healthy breakfast

I've always liked drinking green smoothies because I feel like I'm getting in my daily veggies for the day without having to eat a massive salad. I've tried both their green smoothies (Mr. Greengenes and Hi-Fibe), with a stronger preference of Mr. Greengenes (with a choice of almond or coconut milk) because it's less green-y taste. The cool thing about the hi-fibe is instead of throwing entire cucumbers in the smoothie they JUICE it first. I've read a lot in the comments about how pricy the drinks are. I agree the price is hefty, but you definitely get your money's worth -- they really jam pack the blender with loads of kale (amongst other fruits and veggies). Would I get it everyday? No. But it's a nice healthy treat after a workout.

Since acquired by Wakefern, the supermarket coop network which main banner is ShopRite, appears that they incorporate a more mainstream items, but don't be fooled... they still have great stuff in store. This Chelsea location, though, has a different feel than the UWS one. As a fan of Bialys, they had a great deal of 6 fresh ones for $4.99 here, which I picked up. This used to be sweet bistro where many days and nights were shared with friends. This particular storefront is even more rare because it's not a chain and is open late, for the way working folk have needed to live here for a long time. It's not Whole Foods or Vitamin Shoppe (or whatever that chain's named), but a humble spot where the selection of vitamins, herbs, topicals and a few pantry staples probably contains exactly what you're looking for. Ask any of my neighbors what they think about your cough, sniffle or dry skin, and they'll tell you, "Go see the vitamin guy on 23rd." And you should. Because for years, he's dispensed sound counsel to a number of us whose needs aren't easily addressed by either of those aforementioned chains or that chain pharmacy who makes you summon a worker to unlock some dental floss. I'd been recovering from RSV when my husband stopped by the Vitamin Guy and told him about my lingering cough and shallow breathing. He brought home some Olbas syrup and a tincture containing a melange of herbs, half of which I was familiar as a TCM patient for a number of years. Within week one I was feeling great relief. A neighbor who'd been hit with the same condition went and had his own chat and relief success story a week after me, and unprompted, said, "Vitamin Guy saved me again!" This is but one of many ways Vitamin Guy's helped me, my husband and many neighbors over 18 years. Go see him the next time you're wondering what you can do about whatever's ailing you; he probably has some sound advice to share, and you'd be keeping the lights on amid the many otherwise darkened storefronts that don't exactly inspire confidence around greater Chelsea.

They have a huge selection of great products - from fresh items to specialty and natural foods, so it's always easy to find something interesting or high quality when I stop in. One thing that really stood out recently was that they were open during a blizzard when so many other places were closed. That kind of reliability means a lot to the community and was incredibly appreciated. The staff are consistently kind, attentive, and helpful, which makes shopping there a pleasant experience every time. You can tell they care about their customers and the store. The prices are a bit on the higher end compared to larger grocery stores, but for a local market with such a great selection and such wonderful service, I personally don't mind supporting them. It's the kind of place that's worth having in the neighborhood.

I agree with other some other reviewers that the people who work there - cashiers aside who are usually very nice - can be rude and aggressive. Somehow many, not all, of the workers/managers could care less about customers versus their task at hand. The result is lack of respect that manifests in intrusive behaviors such as bumping into customers without apologizing, not moving to let customers navigate the narrow aisles and yelling/pointing while directing another worker while customer is literally right there which is akin to invading personal space. The concern is if the store's history and future potential becomes overshadowed by obnoxious behaviors and lose too many customers, over time, to stay afloat. I'm not yet ready to bail but am getting close, unfortunately, esp given alternative markets and/or online options for the same products.
