Back to back charges for my one matcha beverage. Forgot to answer tip/receipt prompt. Someone gave themselves a 44.5% tip! Buyer beware!
    P. O.

What could improve, you ask? Well, for starters, maybe don't go ahead and tip yourself. Just a thought. 10:40AM, Sat 7/12/25 - 318 8th Ave Ordered/paid for $7.35 matcha (tax included), 2 hrs later noticed I'd been charged $10.63 - bc someone generously tipped THEMSELVES a 44.5% tip. How kind of me, right? I totally forgot to answer prompts for tip/receipt. But I didn't realize that meant "go ahead and tip yourself handsomely, anything you want, from my bank account." That is not how tipping works. That is how stealing works. I called the store to handle it directly around 1PM, left my #. Was told the manager would call me back. No one called me back. I'm leaving this review to warn others to make sure not to leave that screen unanswered before leaving!

    Iced Matcha Latte

Been to this cafe twice so far, and I love how spacious the interior is. It's a great cafe to get meet with friends or to get work done. They have a bathroom as well and wifi. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk and sweetened and it was good! Definitely recommended this cafe.

Deceptive pricing, medium hot latte is listed on menu board as $5.50 + $0.75 for ice. Total should be $6.25, not $6.75

Incredibly DECEPTIVE PRICING. Menu board lists a medium latte as $5.50, plus $0.75 for ice. So total should be $6.25 right? Instead, I was charged $6.75 for a medium iced latte, and the cashier acted that I was the one at fault for reading the sign wrong. Ridiculous to charge $0.75 for ice in the first place, but outright scamming customers takes it to a whole other level.

Wow! Deja vu! One of the first coffee places I went to since I moved to New York City from Los Angeles. Nostalgic and a trip down memory lane for me as I used to constantly come here since 2021. Nothing has changed: workers are super friendly, prices are still fairly similar to before and the wifi has an extra backup now. Will come back as other places similar to here have deteriorated in quality.

Honey Latte & Avocado Toast with Poached Egg

Came here on a Monday morning looking for a place to get some work done. Plenty of work space with people always coming and going. The music wasn't loud at all and they were playing some jams so that was nice while being productive. Ordered a honey latte and the avocado toast with the poached egg and one of the loafs. The barista was so sweet, and offered us a fresh piece along with what we ordered since the loaf on the display was on the smaller side. The latte was good, just the right amount of sweet, the avocado toast even better. The poached egg didn't run at all which is perfect because I'm not a fan of runny yolk. Pleasant experience overall!

$2.75 plus tax. 09/29/21 Not filled up but tasted good.

Bean and Bean popped into my radar as I was walking. I saw plenty of seating inside and I needed to sit down with a bite to eat and a coffee. The empty seating didn't give me any indication that they may not be popular. Yelp had Four Stars. There were customers in here. First I was charged $4.25 for a butter scone. The sign on it said $3.75. I said to the cashier she needs to correct the price on the scone. (Or didn't she know the price.) I was overcharged, so No tip. Plus She ignored my request to correct the price. Second my coffee was not filled up. I'm giving Two stars because the small drip coffee tastes good and was hot. Will I ever return? No, not worth $7.24. Plus the scone was dry. I can't recommend, sorry. PS After I used the smelly nasty bathroom I went back by the cashier counter. She had fixed the price of the Butter Scone to say $4.25.

They manage to have an industrial space with homey vibes - something not many places can pull off. I love the variety of seating and how many plugs there are everywhere. The service is quick and efficient. They have a restroom for customers. I loved that they had gluten free snack options. I wish they had gluten free bagels and warm food available. I also wish they had a charging station available.

    The great ice latte .

Story time. I waited for like 5 mins to get my ice latte that I ordered. I got it in my hands and I was so damn ready for that caffeine. What happens next. I dropped it outside the door. But a woman came from behind the counter and asked if I wanted another one. I declined but as I sat in my car disgusted in what I did. She shows up with that very Ice latte. That was very nice of her. Very thoughtful and it was made perfectly. If you are ever in the area . Go to the bean & bean coffee shop on the corner of 26th and 8th ave in Manhattan.. great people. By the way yes when it dropped it felt like slow motion and everyone was watching lol

Hello, we use a pacific Almond Milk Barista Series :)

Is it quiet or do they play music? Are the chairs hard?

Relatively quiet. Soft music, some chatter from people. Yes chairs are hard unless you snag a couch.

They have a water dispenser, two locking bathrooms, and plenty of outlets, so I already have a very positive view of Grace Street as a good place to rest. The food is alright. It's a bit overpriced and the teas are not good quality. However, the desserts are delicious. I usually split a slice of basque cheesecake with my friends. The regular and matcha have both been good in my experience. I don't like chocolate cake, so I haven't tried that variety. I wish the pumpkin was available in the smaller size too! I've tried their boba, and it isn't good. The hot teas are okay but not great. They're pretty much just syrup and milk. I would avoid the drinks and just get the desserts! I haven't personally tried the bingsoo, but I've heard good things. The waffle is alright--all in all, come here to recharge and for the basque cheesecake!

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! FYI - there are two unisex restrooms in the rear for customers to use with really cute wallpapers too.

We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
