Had a strange experience here. There was a pop up at this location. We came here under the impression there was complimentary drinks and bites, if you look at the flyer on pulsd. First 50 people got free swag. So my party and I said down. We got our swag bags. Pretty cool stuff, we were asked what we would like to drink. We ordered then we're told we had to pay. The server says oh we made your drink you have to drink it. Like, no we actually didn't. He immediately got rude, so we cancelled So when he saw we were getting up to leave he took the "bites" away. The bites were square school lunch slices. Next time you have an event be clear because it was under the free section. The vibes were not vibing and the spot was too small for an event like this, why take the bites away. There was a face roller, candy, and the flatter face presser. Needless to say I threw out the coupons to go back for 50% off. Such a strange pop up. The Riva Jewelry was in a tiny space in the corner. This event was improperly setup.

Lovely Italian-style cafe with late night hours. One of the best pistachio cappuccinos I've ever had.

Cute coffee shop with a very European/Mediterranean feel. From the stocked bar behind the coffee bar, to the music they were playing, I could almost picture like I was in a quaint Mediterranean cafe and not midtown. I tried their iced Americano with milk and am a fan. I only wish they had more food/snack options

Cafe was excellent! We stayed close by and stopped everyday for a coffee in the morning! Franco was great to talk to gave us plenty of places to try out in town. In the afternoon you can stop by for a cocktail. My wife had the Negroni! Suggested by Franco and she loved it. Small nice quaint spot that describes New York City in a quick cup of Joe. Gracias for the great coffee and conversation. Till we see each other again!

Authentic Italian style through and through. The owners provide an authentic Italian cafe experience.

Cappuccino Gino (and Vino) is a must for locals and tourists with a demand for exquisite espresso in a bespoke Italian style bistro setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our cappuccinos and complimentary espresso thanks the Damaris. Note the cafe door is actually 28 E 33rd.

But I had a craving one morning for some sugar and 'Dough' was on my way. I walked in and realized one of their donuts was going to at least spread out for over 2 days for me. The flavors looked so delicious. I decided to go for 'Toasted Coconut'. Amazing nutmeg-y finish and I have to say I love the yeastiness of the donut - did not feel like straight up sugar, but felt like a complex cake/bread - the sourness did come through. The donut has body and texture. My donut world has changed from now on. If I encounter donut people, I will definitely recommend this place. And maybe next year try one of their other amazing flavors. It did cost me $6.80 but I'm telling you these are gigantic - one for 2 people I'd say. The place is simple, cute and clean - standard NYC modern shop. So not much to report here.

At $7 per donut (with tax), it was definitely overpriced and not worth it. We did not finish the donuts. Service was friendly and the place was clean but we will definitely not be returning.

There's usually a line to buy donuts but they have tons of women working behind the counter in their retro smocks, filling orders & slinging pastries. Cash Only! No credit cards or mobile payments accepted. They do have an ATM onsite if you don't have cash on you (not that rare these days - I've been caught lacking here from time to time...). Perhaps the greatest quote ever to sum this place comes from the inimitable Tina Fey who discovered the treats here years ago & had this say @ Peter Pan: "The best doughnut? That's Peter Pan doughnuts in Brooklyn... It's a white-cream-filled powdered doughnut. And I really believe, when I first tried it, if I had a penis, I would put it in this doughnut. There have been many copycat recipes, many have tried and failed including this reviewer, but Doughnut Plant doesn't even try to replicate, they just make this delicious, coconut creamy filled, yeasty donut that is the closest to Leonard's malasada as I have tasted, in texture, flavor, and filling. It hits the spot and is wonderful. Their other bestsellers hold their own also. The tiramisu donut is so luxurious and silky. The Brooklyn blackout is moist and decadent. Doughnut Plant has a lot going for them beyond my beloved coconut cream filled malasada/donut. I was in line waiting to order, and the new guy working was belligerent and reeked of alcohol, and it was early in the day. The line wasn't even long, but there was a lot going on. Between customers came the random insults at people walking by, a swing of his drink, and a nasty look for anyone who crossed his line of sight. He seems fairly new. I've seen him a few times. Anyways, one order of the mini donuts, they are super customizable and if you need help picking and choosing flavors and toppings, the staff member can provide suggestions and pairings. The problem with massive strawberries is eating them. If I had a knife, I could cut them into smaller pieces as eating them on a skewer stick got really messy. Also the strawberry itself overpowered any of the chocolate taste, so it didn't balance well in terms of taste. For sure favored the milk chocolate over the dark chocolate.

I have been to Caroline's several times since it opened its doors to the public. I've tried a few of their items, including the glazed twist, Boston creme, coffee donut, and strawberry filled. The glaze twist is one of my favorites. It's wonderfully sweet while not cloying, and I especially enjoy topping it with the Bon Mama berry jam I have at home. The Boston creme is truly made with love. It's sufficiently stuffed with creme and topped with a thick layer of chocolate ganache - the expensive stuff! The coffee donut is also delicious. Of everything I've tried, the strawberry filled was my favorite. You can tell their strawberry compote is homemade and not too sweet.
