JJ's is hit & miss. I've been there for breakfast lots of times & it's been great. A few weeks ago I was there & got a to go lunch order. French Dip with potato salad & a Bacon Cheeseburger with fruit. The waitress gave me 20 packs of ketchup & 10 salt packets..the French Dip sandwich was so dried out & tough..no flavor at all. I couldn't eat it. Potato salad tasted like it was old. Bacon Cheeseburger was dried out..bun was definetly not fresh. Fruit was good. Other times the food has been wonderful & service is usually great. It was almost closing time so maybe they didn't think it would matter but it did to me. Not sure when & if I will go back. To go orders don't seem to be as good as the in restaurant orders. This is about the 3rd time I got a yucky to go order. read more

Everything is usually delightful bacon lettuce & tomato sandwich is our go to with the usually awesome potatoe salad. Somebody changed up the potatoe salad this week as we visited Sat. 6-1-24. It wasn't as it usually is the potatoe's were mini french fry looking chunks, and not fully cooked. We usually stop get extra for our stay in Fort Bragg. Ate here with my wife and kids on the way to Fort Bragg. Such a random spot... but don't let that deter you. The food and service was amazing! We came starving and left full and happy. They have the traditional items you'd expect, but also some unique specialties you need to try. The garlic fries are AMAZING. Hands down the best we've had anywhere. You've got to try them. Judy, Judy, Judy!! You're a welcome sight! Driving on Highway 20 on our way to Mendocino, we were hungry! We wanted a burger, Foster's Freeze had a line twenty people long. That line was just for people waiting to order. We said, "Forget that!" So we drove a little more and found, "Judy's Junction!" It's a greasy spoon, but sometimes those are the best! The place was closing in an hour but the waitresses here were pleasant, didn't feel rushed. We ordered cheeseburgers and they were juicy, greasy good! Hubby ordered a side of brown gravy for his fries and he loved it. Highly recommend you stop here, much better than the more popular fast food chain down the street. read more

Pros- Wasn't busy at 9:00am in Sunday morning and was able to get seated right away. Appeared most people were locals and some gathered around tables closer to the kitchen and friendly conversation. Gave it a nice, small town feel. We ordered a ham and cheese omelette to share. Portions were definitely sufficient to split a meal. Omelette was good. Cons- Coffee was mediocre. Waitress was 'friendly enough' when taking our order although, didn't seem to have that small town, friendly feel as everyone else appeared to have. When she brought the bill my husband pulled out our room key and informed her that we were told by Worldmark to present our key and we would get 10% off. She then informed us we were supposed to show her that at the beginning. As she adjusted the bill she stopped and said, 'yeah most people show me this at the beginning'. After she adjusted it she informed us yet again (with other patrons overhearing) that 'next time just show it at the beginning because when we get busy I don't have time to do this'. Huh? She spent more time 'schooling' us on their card showing procedure than the two seconds it took her to actually adjust (hand written) the bill. Judy's Junction is a one of a kind jewel of Lake County located in Upper Lake. Good, friendly and professional service with a customer friendly attitude. They treat you as if you are another local customer. The building has a long history and shows it's age. However it is well cared for. The food is truly excellent with generous portions and fresh. Sometimes the servers deal with a full clientele and also prepare to go orders. Sometime we need to be patient but it's easy to see when they are busy. Overall the service is very good. Pulling our trailer on the way to Ft. Bragg and needed to get a quick lunch and a place to park and hopefully able to keep an eye on the trailer and truck from the restaurant. I remembered that we stopped here several years ago and were not dissatisfied with the food so we pulled in. The parking area is hugh so this fit the bill. We were able to see the rig from our table in the dining room closest to the highway. We both ordered the chili burger. My wife had the side salad and I opted for the garlic fries. The burgers were humongous and the fries were the best I have ever had. The meal was so good, that on the way home from Ft. Bragg we decided to stop in for a late breakfast. My husband ordered the Benny which was s split English muffin topped with 2 sausage patties and a generous portion of gravy. The rest of the plate was crowded with perfectly crisped hash browns. I ordered the standard bacon and eggs. I like my bacon crisp and they did not disappoint. The bacon was meaty and tasty. My husband insisted I have a hot chocolate and I did not resist. Good home cooking with generous portions and friendly service. Bacon was thick and crispy. Had the Judy's omelette. Eggs were fluffy and well presented not a jumbled mess with bits of this or that. No skimping here. Omelette was enough for two. Enough for even my husband who usually never leaves a crumb. We both left happily defeated by our respective omelette so and country potatoes. We took a chance on Judy's Junction, and it was a good choice. We older folks walked into the past..... younger folks walk into a 40s period movie set. The service is exceptional, friendly and prompt. We had breakfast fare..... portions are for big hungry men..... I could finish only a fourth of mine. Awesome f ood! Highly recommend this little diner! They had one of my very favorite sandwiches which is their ultimate grilled cheese, on sourdough with tomato and avocado! I make it for myself all the time with tomato but never had tried it with the avocado and it was great! And the sweet potato fries were the best I have ever had!!
