Terrible service and ice cream. It would be nice if they trained their employees properly.

First time trying these out - I kept hearing about these and I can see the appeal. This shop is…read moresmall it's basically just a counter service, you can order through 2 touchscreens or in person. All cookies are made fresh right behind the counter, the kitchen is open and very clean looking. Flavors change weekly, some popular core flavors like sugar cookie or chocolate chip do stay on the menu as more permanent items. The cookies are very big, for almost $5 a pop - these are on the pricey side but make a nice treat. Ideal for special occasions or for gifting since they come in a beautiful box. We tasted a peanut butter chocolate cookie and a triple berry oatmeal variety - both were very good, warm, extremely soft and mushy. If you like underbaked, cakey, ooey gooey style of cookies, rather than a crisp, these will be for you. They are however very oily - fingers were glistening after eating these! The flavor of the cookie batter itself is somehow not amazing, they're good but there's some richness missing. The toppings are what make the cookie stand out. I wish they had a wider range of flavors constantly on display, having to wait week for week without knowing what is in store can be annoying. The price point is also too high for me so I can't see myself coming regularly.

We both ordered a cocktail that I cannot remember omg on the holiday menu but it came out with a slightly burnt rosemary which smelled delightful. For our meal we started off with the cheddar beignets and that was the star of the meal!! Sooo different and yummy. I got the fish and chips for my entree which was fried to perfection and yummy tartar sauce to pair with. My friend ordered the fried chicken meal with German potato salad to go with it which was also good!! I would definitely want to come back and take advantage of their weekly deals.

The "coleslaw" wasn't bad but I also wouldn't consider at coleslaw as it was just purple cabbage (on the pretty bitter vinegar side of things). Biscuit very good. The chicken was good and very hot and crispy, but it is exactly what it says it is on the menu.... Very large piece of chicken meat deep fried in fairly thick outer coating. Again, very good but thick and rich and certainly not a "light" option of theirs. The honey sauce on side is good but thick and sweet. Cocktails: Very good, nice variety of options, neither of the two drinks we got were too sweet. Ambiance: We sat at the bar. It was a warm and friendly environment. On the louder end, but didn't feel overwhelming. Would definitely come back and would definitely recommend to others. Did not have a chance to try any of their oyster offerings this time around.

Service: They're very attentive to answering any questions about drinks and always happy to make any accommodations upon request. The have so many different variations of drinks such as six different takes on a martini and so on. The inside is very nice, quaint. An 8 or so person bar and then tables throughout the back and front of the cafe. There's also a fun side grocery room you can shop in while sipping on a cocktail. They're very attentive have individual sodas, drinks, and then larger options like cases of beer, wine, aperitifs, non alcoholic options, and also stuff like ice molds, cocktail shakers and so forth. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a one of kind cocktail place in chittenden county. Oh and drinks are super affordable! $11-$12 for most cocktails on their lists.

Specs is tiny and honestly a bit anxiety-inducing as there's not a lot of room to stand around and wait for your order. The space is eclectic and mismatched, and kind of feels like your grandma's kitchen, in a cute and cozy way. I loved the little attached shop where you can buy coffee, beer, wine, spices, drink mixers, art, etc. I got the silk sheets and Nate got the razzle dazzle - both really delicious lattes, and I love anything black sesame so I knew I'd like the silk sheets. Their menu is large and you can customize your drinks in tons of ways, including with CBD, sprinkles, syrups, milks, etc. The options seem kind of endless. Not a super great place to hang out and work, but I'm glad we were able to stop in!
