Originally being from the south (Arkansas / Texas) and living in Vermont; I often miss the Hispanic foods I grew up eating. Casa Grande always has great service and each time we come it is better and better. There have been one or two times that we didn't have a great time when they first opened but we enjoy it! Jay is the best there and I always request him as my server. He is very attentive, genuine and goes above and beyond. My husband loves the tapatio and of course my little one loves the cheese quesadillas haha. The ceviche at this location is not very good at all but the ceviche at the Colchester location, Casa Real location has GREAT ceviche though!! I was traveling to Burlington to see my daughter and her husband when it was getting close to supper time . I wanted to try the New Mexican restaurant so I decided to stop and pick up dinner to go. The ambiance as soon as I walked in was a comfortable and authentic feel . I was greeted by an awesome staff willing to wait on me . I ordered the chimichanga dinner with a side of guacamole . Casa Grande is a great alternative to going to a place like Chilis. Far more authentic menu and portions are still good in spite of the current inflation. Service was fast and courteous. It's a busy place and that tells you a lot about the ambiance of a well received Mexican eatery. It's now our only go to spot in Burlington for Mexican food. read more

We came as a family of 4 with two young kids. The food was very underwhelming : very bland salsa, super salty guacamole, the worst chicken fajitas I have ever had (super small not tasty pieces overloaded by peppers and onions), chicken quesadillas with barely any cheese, awful tasting house margaritas. The service was not bad and the food came out quick. The environment was clean and pretty inviting. You just can't overcome the poor food in what should be staple dishes. Bummer read more

We tried Casa Grande last night. The food was chain-restaurant quality; ok and big enough portions. The sauces were good. I had the fish tacos and would have preferred bigger chunks of fish. It did come with a large plate of Spanish rice and some nice sides of onion, etc. What was not ok is that one of our party says he heard the server call my husband "cabrón" after he said "muchos gracías" when the man took our order. Yes, the Spanish was off. We were also polite and tipped well. Had I known this earlier or heard it myself, there would have been words. The takeaway is that we will never eat there again. read more

We visited CG for I think the fourth time last night. It's decent traditional (American) Mexican food--a big improvement over what was available in this area in the past. It's a nice place with large portions and friendly staff. Our waitress, Caterina was patient and helpful. Not a fine dining experience, but a lovely experience all the same. The food was tasty and plentiful. They have three levels of margaritas, one of which uses fresh ingredients rather than margarita mix. Go early. Though it's a massive place, it can get pretty crowded. Try it and you'll know why. read more

Went here for the first time on a Tuesday night and was seated quickly while they were very busy. We were in the main restaurant but there is a bar area for those interested. Our server was not friendly when we tried to ask for suggestions. She felt anxious and left us to give us more time when in fact we didn't need more time . The good: so glad someone is using that restaurant space again - it's such a nifty building! The menu was impressive, with a lot to choose from. Our food came out quickly and was excellent! We went there for lunch, I had the steak fajita with corn tortillas (no gluten for me) and mom had a Hawaiian thing that was excellent! Look at that grilled half pineapple! They gave us so much food! We went home with enough leftovers for another whole meal! Delicious! The not so good: I would have liked a little more cheese and sour cream. The sour cream was a drizzle on the lettuce and the cheese was barely there, melted on the refried beans. The servers were friendly but not attentive. We were forgotten after our food was delivered. I think it's because we were between a wall that was built in the middle of the (formerly open) dining area and the outside wall - really we were in a hallway while the portion of the room that was open was getting attentive service. Eventually I went to the hostess desk and asked for boxes. We filled the boxes, stacked our dishes, and waited for our bill that never came. We walked up to the hostess table with our stuff and asked to pay our bill but because our table was behind a wall, we couldn't identify for them which one we were at - the man had to read out the orders until he found ours. If we had just left no one would have noticed. I will definitely go back, but will make sure I am seated in a visible spot! read more

This is their second location and I'm so glad they decided to open stores here (they are from Maine believe it or not). THIS IS AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD and the staff reflect their culture. Of all the places in Vermont, this and their 1st store, Casa Real in Colchester, have the best overall Mexican food (or TexMex) of any in Vermont by far.
