I love this office! I am shocked by the bad reviews. Their whole staff is amazing. They work hard!…read moreSo appreciative of Doctor Grover. She hasn't joined a big group of doctors because she cares about her patients and providing better care to them. She wants to be there for them. She delivered my first. It was an amazing experience. She is very kind and attentive. I had an unmediated birth at the hospital. I did end up being induced but she never pressured me. She always explained everything in great detail. Sometimes it's a longer wait for her but that's because she cares! Im so thankful for a great OBGYN in Utah county.

My appointment was so awful I'm having to switch to a new doctor…read more I have been a regular gynecological patient of Utah Valley OBGYN for the past decade. My husband and I have been doing Invitro to get pregnant for almost 2 years, a total of 6 years trying and we finally are in the midst of a successful pregnancy and this office made me feel shamed and acted like they had never worked with anyone who had been through infertility struggles before. First I was required to set up an appointment to "confirm the pregnancy" even though my IVF doc has done that 4 separate times throughout the first 8 weeks of my pregnancy with a urine test, blood work, and ultrasound. I asked why and they said it was "procedure" and that I had to do it before continuing any treatment. When I got to their office they proceeded to have me pee in a cup, though they explained nothing to me as to why I was doing this. Then they put me in a room and I waited for over 30 minutes, while terribly nauseous and having hot flashes and when the nurse practitioner finally came in she proceeds to get bugged with me because I can't tell her when my last period was (I didn't have this information because of IVF, it had been awhile) and she acts like she's never dealt with this situation before and complains that she doesn't know how to fill out my paperwork. Why are there not fields to fill on my medical paperwork in this scenario? Her complaints, confusion, strangely timed pauses and sighs made me feel judged and unwelcome. Even though I'm just as pregnant and in need of care as all their other patients. At this point she notices I'm about to be sick, gets me a barf bag and says she'll be right back. Another 30 minutes passes. She then comes in and says they have to give me a Pap smear and pelvic exam while there because I was due for one and proceeded to be extremely rough and it was very painful. Although I mentioned my concerns after recently have a subchorionic hemorrhage, had just gotten off of bed rest/pelvic rest, and was experiencing cramping. My concerns were brushed aside, and no explanation was communicated. I also came to that appointment with questions about some medications I had been using prior to becoming pregnant, that their office had prescribed, and she said she would help me find out if I could continue them but left the room again and never came back. She also told me she would set me up with the billing lady to strategize next steps after my appointment because we recently changed insurance and I was having to do a lot of self pay. Obviously since i never saw her again, that didn't happen either. After awhile, I got dressed sat in the room for another moment before sticking my head out and asking if I was finished and I was told by a medical assistant that I wasn't and that she'd come get me in a few minutes. Then they came to take me back to the labcorp specialist so pay a second bill that I was not anticipated as I called ahead to ask what the total cost of the appointment was and had already paid that amount when I arrived. This second bill made the total double what I was told. I still wasn't told what any of this was for and whether or not my pregnancy had been confirmed by them. So from my perspective I paid twice as much as promised while receiving absolutely awful care and being at their office for a total of 2 1/2 hours since I arrived. After I left I was feeling weird about things and I called them asking about the urine test and they said it did confirm I was pregnant but continued to make me feel weird cause they "couldn't confirm how far along I was" even though I told him multiple times with accuracy. And asked them to request my records from my IVF specialist prior to our appointment so they could be up to speed. Obviously this was another area I was ignored. I called yesterday to cancel my future appointments and that I would be changing to a new doctor and the receptionist said they would be in touch for billing us for the record transfer. It seems like this office cares way more about the dollar than actual patient care. And after the struggle it's been to get to this point in my pregnancy and just getting pregnant and all the trauma that comes with the difficulties of IVF I just can't afford to subject myself to further mistreatment. But guess I still have to pay for doing what's right for my body, my mental health, and my baby. DO NOT USE THIS OFFICE. FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR. Period.

Edit:: I'm still not thrilled with this office staff and Intermountain Healthcare in general, but I…read morehad to come back and write about Dr. Thomas because he really is amazing and quite possibly saved my son's life when he had the cord wrapped around his neck during delivery. He was always thoughtful and always made me feel like my thoughts and feelings were valid. He never rushed through an appointment or told me how to do things with my pregnancy. He was very personable, came in on a Saturday to induce me, and he even brought me a gift (a really cute car seat/nursing cover) after I delivered. If we decide to have a fourth baby, I will look forward to delivering with Dr. Thomas again. I'm pregnant with my third baby, so this isn't my first rodeo. We just moved to Utah a couple months ago and I was really specific with what kind of OB I was looking for: attentive, personable, someone who answers all my questions but also let's me run my own pregnancy the way I want to. I didn't get to meet dr. Thomas on my first visit, which I thought was kind of an impersonal approach to pregnancy. They just had me some in for lab work/a physical. How their practice is spread out is pretty confusing. My first visit, I was on the second floor. The lab is on the third. And my subsequent visits have been on the third floor. There wasn't hardly any direction on my first visits and it left me a little frustrated. And then there's the office staff... I had both of my little kids with my on my first visit. They have a small play area (with no toys) in their waiting area, and my kids are pretty well behaved, but I just got the vibe that they weren't welcome there. We do a Medishare, so we are technically cash patients. My previous OBs office thought this was great because it means they don't have to deal with insurance; but this office makes me feel like I'm an inconvenience every single time I come in. "Sooo you know you have to pay by 36 weeks right..." (yes I am very aware and only 16 weeks. You have my social and my address; if I don't pay it by the time it's due, then by all means, come after me.) "soooo you don't want to make any payments...?" (No, the whole bill will be paid in entirety next month, I've already cleared it with billing.) "soooo you know that you have to pay the ultrasound up front...no, we can't give you a bill before hand...sorry." And then they told me I can't bring my baby into the ultrasound, which I've never heard before and is really inconvenient because now i have to get a babysitter so my husband can come with me. So I haven't had the best experience with them. And then there's the issue with the pencils for the urine sample. Every time I've gone in, their pencils are broken and they just have little remnant pieces they expect you to pick up and use? I've told them several times, they don't even get up to look and replace them. How hard is it to just get a sharpie??? No one wants to use a half inch pencil piece to write their name all wonky on the plastic cup. The medical assistant is very nice and warm and personable and Dr. Thomas seems nice and thorough. I like him as a doctor and am looking forward to delivering with him, but I don't look forward to my office visits just because his front desk staff isn't welcoming and is super condescending.

She goes, it just looks like you have some return mail we need to send you. Again, I asked well what are you sending me because it sounds like a bill and why would I pay you when I have never been seen. She said you have a balance of $39 dollars. NOW I REMEMBER. A year ago when I had an Ovarian Cyst and was in and out of the hospital due to pain/nausea/dehydration. The NP or provider basically laughed in my face because she said it was only 3CM and they weren't going to remove something that small and would just let it BURST on its own. SHE DID NOT CHECK MY VITALS, SHE DID NOT WRITE ME A PRESCRPTION, SHE DID NOT HELP ADMIT ME TO THE HOSPITAL. SO WHY AM I BEING CHARGED FOR A SERVICE I NEVER RECEIVED. As well as, they must be desperate for money because it is legit $39. YOU GUYS ARE PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am calling my insurance company to explain the situation because I have a feeling they are going to send me to collections over a bill that small that I should not even be paying for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to come here for a colposcopy recently. My experience scheduling was frustrating as they told…read moreme they only do them in the last Monday of the month which resulted in my not getting an appointment until 1.5 months later. I checked in at this location 5 min before my scheduled appointment. The girl made me wait until ate finished some paperwork. She asked me 3 times what my name was and then told me I needed to pay a bill which I hadn't received yet. I asked her if she could print it out and apparently they can't. Fine. Anyway, she told me I was checked in and that I'd be called back when they were ready. Many many women had come in after me and been called back within a minute or two. I tried to be patient but at about 19 min of waiting I was just about to get up and inquire as I was in a bit of a rush and they called my name. The girl who checked me in reportedly actually didn't do that, and they asked me why I didn't check in. I explained I did and to whom I did and they were a bit shocked. A nurse took me back took my blood pressure which was high due to stress and worrying if I'd be out on time to pick up my daughter from summer camp. She notified by that the NP was still working with her 12:40 patient. I explained situation and asked if I should reschedule. NP Kelli Parker just walked out of her last appointment and this nurse explained what was happening. We spoke for a second and she was kind enough to rush me into the procedure room and immediately get started! She literally is the 4 stars for this review! She was so sweet, professional, funny and helped me get out quickly to get to my daughter. She was explanatory and quick and even when I gasped at some pain she apologized. When asking her why they only do the procedures once a month she quickly notified me that she gets anyone and everyone whenever she can (including her lunch break) and told me not to hesitate next time to tell them I couldn't wait. I had a male intern watching which was awkward but I was stressed out so I didn't care too much as I just wanted to get it over with. Thanks Kelli for your amazing and kind service! Office was clean and easy to find.
