She goes, it just looks like you have some return mail we need to send you. Again, I asked well what are you sending me because it sounds like a bill and why would I pay you when I have never been seen. She said you have a balance of $39 dollars. NOW I REMEMBER. A year ago when I had an Ovarian Cyst and was in and out of the hospital due to pain/nausea/dehydration. The NP or provider basically laughed in my face because she said it was only 3CM and they weren't going to remove something that small and would just let it BURST on its own. SHE DID NOT CHECK MY VITALS, SHE DID NOT WRITE ME A PRESCRPTION, SHE DID NOT HELP ADMIT ME TO THE HOSPITAL. SO WHY AM I BEING CHARGED FOR A SERVICE I NEVER RECEIVED. As well as, they must be desperate for money because it is legit $39. YOU GUYS ARE PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am calling my insurance company to explain the situation because I have a feeling they are going to send me to collections over a bill that small that I should not even be paying for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She really cares about us, and listens to our views and how we felt. She is really sincere and has the well being of the baby and the mom at top priority. Me and my wife decided to have a home birth. Amy helped us feel very capable and comfortable with the birth of our son in our home. And everything went very well. Her post natal care was very good, she didn't leave until both the mom and the baby were in good condition while she met their needs. We strongly recommend her Bradley Method class. It was very enjoyable and was really good to learn in preparation for our birth. Amy does a really good job teaching that class and uses lots of updated information, real world experiences, and realistic scenarios. Because of this class, we were so excited for our birth and when our son ended up coming early, we were more than prepared for it. She is very knowledgable and keeps up with her education. When we had questions, she had answers that came with books and research studies to support what she said. Our prenatal and post natal visits were comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely be hiring Amy again in the future and would 100% recommend her to anyone wanting a joyful/natural birth experience.

Unfortunately, my experience with Amy as a midwife was deeply disappointing and, at times,…read moredistressing. While she was kind and personable during our prenatal visits, her support during my labor and birth fell far short of expectations. I have rewatched the 10 hours of footage from my labor and birth - so these are actual accounts and not just from my memory. Amy did not consistently show up when I needed her most. I was in labor for 31 hours before she arrived to stay. Although she checked on me briefly around the 12-hour mark, she was hesitant to return that evening and seemed bothered when asked. Despite living just five minutes away, she made it clear she didn't want to leave her equipment behind, citing how expensive it was, which felt inappropriate and untrusting, especially during such a vulnerable time. My doula had to convince her to leave her birth stool at my house before leaving for the night. Throughout the night and next morning, while my labor progressed, she remained largely unavailable. She mentioned needing to serve lunch at her child's school, which felt like a higher priority than my care. By the time she returned, 31 hours in, I was fully dilated. At that point, she spent a surprising amount of time disengaged, making tea and sitting on her phone rather than actively supporting me. When complications arose that Amy couldn't solve due to her inexperience, I was transferred to a birth center for a Vacuum extraction attempt, the situation became more traumatic. Her partner Kristy, whom I had never met before, was harsh and unsupportive, aggressively pushing me to continue despite my obvious exhaustion after 40+ hours of labor. Their bedside manner during this time was extremely lacking and added emotional stress to an already intense experience. The lack of communication and support continued well after the birth. After giving birth, Amy left the center first and then missed our scheduled 24-hour follow-up. I had to reach out to her myself, only to receive a vague response about a personal family issue that had come up, without any prior notice. When I asked her for guidance about jaundice, her text response was a single word: "breastfeeding." When I needed help breastfeeding because my newborn wasn't latching properly, she helped me for 5 min then gave me a card for a LC. When I raised my concerns, she responded by saying she thought I didn't want her there during labor because I had my doula, which was simply untrue and baffling. She repeatedly mentioned family obligations as reasons for her absence, which gave the impression that her priorities were elsewhere. Additionally, throughout our care, I felt judged for choosing a Hypnobirthing class over the Bradley method she preferred, and she made disparaging remarks about other clients, something I found unprofessional. This review isn't written lightly. I truly hope others can find a provider who is committed, present, and supportive when it matters most. Birth is an incredibly vulnerable experience, and everyone deserves a care team that shows up, physically, emotionally, and professionally. Amy - I'm happy to sit down and review the footage with you so you can see how poorly you showed up for me.

The appointments were well scheduled so I had time to address everything I wanted to with Angie. Not a single appointment felt rushed. I had originally planned a birth center birth and eventually changed my mind and decided on a home birth. The birth center is beautiful and comfortable, and I still had most of my appointments there. I had one home visit where I got to talk to Angie about different places I could have my baby, she brought a birth bag and a pool for when birthing time began. The team showed up to my birth and were so attentive to me! I thought for sure there was going to be a huge mess and carpet to clean after the birth but Angie had done such a good job with the chux pads that the carpet was completely clean. The team arranged my bed without me even noticing so right after my baby was born I could move to the bed. It was so perfect! After my baby was born, everyone looked healthy and comfortable, the birth team left the room so I could bond with my new baby. My husband got to weigh him, we got to participate in the newborn exams. It was just a great experience! I wouldn't have it any other way!

Visits are located in her home basement where she has a little office like setup. She ordered and obtained my blood work, checked urine, and vital signs every visit. Her assistants were amazing and very sweet as well. We spent most of our visits chatting. I really enjoyed the natural approach to everything. The whole vibe is very laid back and casual. A lot of work on mom's end to trust the process, have faith, and know your body is meant to for birthing. Fortunately, I had a really great pregnancy, so we didn't have any interventions along the way. She kept my husband very involved. She provided mounds of education which was nice. At 20 weeks, I opted for the ultrasound to check baby's anatomy. Richelle had a great recommendation for that service. She actually has lots of resource recommendations, which was very helpful. My home birth went amazing even though she was not able to make it in time for the delivery (We live an hour apart, and I have extremely fast labors. This time was 46 minutes from start to finish!) My husband delivered our baby and was very equipped to do so! Richelle and her team arrived after I delivered and took over from there. I felt like me and baby were in good hands! Richelle and 1 assistant took care of my needs while another assistant (sweet Mary :)) did all of baby's cares, which really is just measurements, etc.. Care is really focused on mom & baby bonding, latching, and resting. It is so peaceful and natural!! Richelle and her team did a phenomenal clean up job. My room and bathroom were spotless. They offered to make me food and made sure I had everything I needed. I think my favorite part of all was the in-home postpartum visits! They were such a blessing! I loved not having to pack up my toddler, new baby, all our stuff, get ready, and drive an hour for a visit. It was sooooo sooooo nice to stay comfy in my home while Richelle came to me. I appreciated that very much. Overall, my experience was fantastic, and I am very pleased with how everything turned out! (:

I do not believe that Birthing Your Way offers a safe environment for the patients or the employees. I took a tour of Birthing Your Way a little while ago when we were deciding where to birth our second baby. Heather, while polite, was fairly distant with us and not particularly welcoming. While we were touring the facility, a woman who was quite obviously in advanced labor tried to check into the center--or her husband did, since the mother was distressed and seemingly in a lot of pain. Heather acted almost inconvenienced when this laboring mother showed up--she seemed flustered and unprepared. The other midwife quickly tried to rush us through the rest of the tour, giving us a contract sheet and inviting us to sign then if we felt like we liked the facility. We left without signing. I was also concerned with how Heather talked to the other employees at the facility. She was very short and impatient with them and seemed disorganized and frazzled. The midwife who gave us the tour mentioned that most midwives do not stay long at the birth center. When we asked why, she vaguely said that they just move on to other things since many of them are students. However, after observing Heather's behavior for just thirty minutes, I wonder if her leadership attitude and lack of warmth and kindness towards her patients and employees contributes to the turnover rates at Birthing Your Way. Mamas, you want a birthing environment that is welcoming, unhurried, and peaceful. Where you birth your baby matters. I am truly happy for those who had a positive experience here, and I hope that happens for the majority of women, but I implore you to think critically about what you see here before you make a decision. Real changes need to be made before this center can be considered a safe place to birth.
