I had recently been diagnosed with GD and although being told initially that I could not have an out of hospital birth, I was determined to have the dream home birth that I have always hoped for. Amy, Desi, and their team gave me all the support and encouragement I needed to fulfill this dream. For every ailment I had during pregnancy, they had a holistic and effective way of addressing the issue. I was honestly blown away. If I have any more kids in the future, I will for sure go back to Peaceful Birth Midwifery in a heart beat. Awesome team!

Amy and Desi are very good at listening, giving you options and letting you be the ultimate decision maker. My birth was so special and I felt so comfortable having them there to oversee the safety of my baby and I and only intervene if it was an absolute necessity or I wanted it. switching to peaceful Birth Midwifery was the best decision I made for my baby and I and I will be using them for any future pregnancies.

She offers great deals on Groupon to get you in initially, then offers bundle deals so you purchase in advance. But she always reschedules your appointment and makes up a dramatic excuse of why she cannot work. We went as far as to purchase $500 worth of services (as gifts for all of our family/ friends) and later found out she wasn't responding to anyone who did try to book, or when she did, make the process difficult by asking them to verify that he made the purchase. Not a business I would recommend. Save yourself the frustration with this person.

Loved the hot stones and clay mask options she offers with her Swedish massages. That's why when she reached out later on to tell me about her special bundle of 4 one-hour massages for $140, I decided to buy it. Since then, it's been difficult communicating with her and redeeming all the massages. She's cancelled at the last-minute on me three times in a matter of 8 months. The first time she told me she double-booked and had class to get certified for eyelash extensions (November 2020), and then she was sick on the other two occasions (February and June 2021), which is fine cause I'd rather not make her work if she's ill nor do I want to be in close proximity with someone who has a bug. I understand life happens and it's hard juggling all the appointments that must be coming her way with the Groupon deal. To be fair, there was one time I missed an appointment because I put it in my calendar incorrectly. She was nice enough not to charge me a no-show fee. So I want to give her credit for that. However, when she cancels on me, she often fails to reschedule with me and I have to follow-up with her several times to get a time booked. I have one massage left that I've been trying to redeem, but she stopped responding to my messages. I'll just let her have that money. I'm not here to badmouth her, because I think she's pretty decent with her massages and offers a great deal on the pricing. But I also want to share my experience about the constant scheduling issues. I wish her well and hope things get better in her life.

However, the CNMs I worked with for the first several months were impersonal, not particularly supportive of what I wanted out of the experience, and difficult to get a hold of with concerns! I was about 5 months along when I met Dee, and I knew from the first visit that I wanted to work with her instead. She was compassionate, caring, and immediately I felt that she was invested in me, personally. Because of some circumstances that worked out in my favor, I got to have all of my prenatal appointments with Dee in my home. I loved that, and I wish I could have that particular bonus every time! She was always informative about my condition; she helped me maintain good nutrition and do everything we could to help prepare my body for childbirth and lactation. She also went out of her way to prepare me emotionally, for childbirth and postpartum. I had a couple of false starts to my labor, and Dee was patient with me as I texted her back and forth. I loved that she was so responsive and easy to reach. Once things actually got moving, Dee was amazing. She promptly came to my home with her assistants, and through every stage of my labor she was calm, encouraging, and professional. I had an absolutely amazing water birth with my son. I tore, and after we got moved out of the pool, she stitched me together SO much better than I had endured with my first childbirth. She and her assistants got my little family settled, made sure baby and I had started well with breastfeeding, got the house cleaned up, made us a meal, and started the laundry before they left, at about 3:00am. They were amazing. Dee returned the next day for follow up, as well as checking in with me over the next few weeks. I sincerely have no complaints from working with Dee as my midwife. My husband and I are moving this summer, otherwise I would employ her as my midwife for every child I ever have!

Dr Thuet is very knowledgeable as she clearly creates a personalized plan to get you breast feeding. Seeing her every week provided assurance and guidance despite my many setbacks. She really cares about us, and listens to our views and how we felt. She is really sincere and has the well being of the baby and the mom at top priority. Me and my wife decided to have a home birth. Amy helped us feel very capable and comfortable with the birth of our son in our home. And everything went very well. Her post natal care was very good, she didn't leave until both the mom and the baby were in good condition while she met their needs. We strongly recommend her Bradley Method class. It was very enjoyable and was really good to learn in preparation for our birth. Amy does a really good job teaching that class and uses lots of updated information, real world experiences, and realistic scenarios. Because of this class, we were so excited for our birth and when our son ended up coming early, we were more than prepared for it. She is very knowledgable and keeps up with her education. When we had questions, she had answers that came with books and research studies to support what she said. Our prenatal and post natal visits were comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely be hiring Amy again in the future and would 100% recommend her to anyone wanting a joyful/natural birth experience.

Unfortunately, my experience with Amy as a midwife was deeply disappointing and, at times,…read moredistressing. While she was kind and personable during our prenatal visits, her support during my labor and birth fell far short of expectations. I have rewatched the 10 hours of footage from my labor and birth - so these are actual accounts and not just from my memory. Amy did not consistently show up when I needed her most. I was in labor for 31 hours before she arrived to stay. Although she checked on me briefly around the 12-hour mark, she was hesitant to return that evening and seemed bothered when asked. Despite living just five minutes away, she made it clear she didn't want to leave her equipment behind, citing how expensive it was, which felt inappropriate and untrusting, especially during such a vulnerable time. My doula had to convince her to leave her birth stool at my house before leaving for the night. Throughout the night and next morning, while my labor progressed, she remained largely unavailable. She mentioned needing to serve lunch at her child's school, which felt like a higher priority than my care. By the time she returned, 31 hours in, I was fully dilated. At that point, she spent a surprising amount of time disengaged, making tea and sitting on her phone rather than actively supporting me. When complications arose that Amy couldn't solve due to her inexperience, I was transferred to a birth center for a Vacuum extraction attempt, the situation became more traumatic. Her partner Kristy, whom I had never met before, was harsh and unsupportive, aggressively pushing me to continue despite my obvious exhaustion after 40+ hours of labor. Their bedside manner during this time was extremely lacking and added emotional stress to an already intense experience. The lack of communication and support continued well after the birth. After giving birth, Amy left the center first and then missed our scheduled 24-hour follow-up. I had to reach out to her myself, only to receive a vague response about a personal family issue that had come up, without any prior notice. When I asked her for guidance about jaundice, her text response was a single word: "breastfeeding." When I needed help breastfeeding because my newborn wasn't latching properly, she helped me for 5 min then gave me a card for a LC. When I raised my concerns, she responded by saying she thought I didn't want her there during labor because I had my doula, which was simply untrue and baffling. She repeatedly mentioned family obligations as reasons for her absence, which gave the impression that her priorities were elsewhere. Additionally, throughout our care, I felt judged for choosing a Hypnobirthing class over the Bradley method she preferred, and she made disparaging remarks about other clients, something I found unprofessional. This review isn't written lightly. I truly hope others can find a provider who is committed, present, and supportive when it matters most. Birth is an incredibly vulnerable experience, and everyone deserves a care team that shows up, physically, emotionally, and professionally. Amy - I'm happy to sit down and review the footage with you so you can see how poorly you showed up for me.
