Where do I even begin. Within the first 60 seconds of walking into East Bays office I was insulted…read moreby the front desk woman. My husband was scheduled 30 minutes to leave his sample before my appointment with them to be tested and confirmed everything is good. We already knew that my husband is not the reason for our infertility struggles since we've been through this process before and are hoping for a better experience with a new practice. Boy were we wrong. Annie made a joke about me being the "problem" when checking in with her @ our very first infertility appointment and I should have walked out their front door the second my gut asked me why is the front office lady humiliating me & making me feel even more horrible about being the issue about not being able to get pregnant and hurts my feelings moments into walking into their facility. Without writing a novel for you, we proceeded with IVF treatment with East Bay. They removed 36 eggs in total. I have PCOS, so we knew there was going to be a lot of eggs and I had a high chance of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (ohss) which Dr. Larry Andrew monitored closely throughout the IVF cycle. The moment I woke up from my egg retrieval I was non stop throwing up & in extreme amounts of pain. They gave me some meds to help my nausea and something for pain. Symptoms slightly subsided for a bit. After sending me home these same symptoms were back & non stop. My husband called East Bay asking what to do and they said they could see us in the next 4 hours or if it's too bad to go to the ER. We proceeded going to the ER where we waited long hours while I was suffering and the staff didn't know what the aftercare protocols were for IVF or even what OHSS is. When trying to explain what we think is going on with my body, they barely got my symptoms under control after being there for the majority of the day we went home for another restless night. The morning came and the symptoms were back. Non stop puking, pain in my abdomen, can't drink or keep anything down. My husband calls Dr. Larry Andrew and asks him for help and what to do and our Dr. let my husband know he's at his Lehi location today and tells my husband I can't be having OHSS because it is too soon for that to be happening after my surgery. (Day2) My husband takes me to the ER for the second time from all the suffering I am still enduring & no help from our provider. The ER doctors run tests and are still not understanding OHSS. They even call Dr. Larry Andrew and he tells them on the phone it can't be OHSS, "it's too soon" the ER doctors could see fluid in the tests they were doing but their approach would be from draining the fluid from the outside of my stomach and could risk hitting a major organ to try and drain the fluid. another day spent WASTED at the ER. They were able to barely get my symptoms under control and they sent me home again. Day 3 morning I wake up to the same symptoms. We go into East Bay to get me in for an ultrasound. When we arrived I was taken downstairs in their basement of an older house remodeled as a fertility office. He had me lie down on the table and my legs in stirrups with the brightest lights beaming so bright at my entire body I had to close my eyes. He starts to do the ultrasound and begins poking and prodding around inside of me. He was getting frustrated with this nurse for not knowing how to help him, she couldn't get a twist top off and at one point my husband had to help her because she wasn't able to and the doctor said to have my husband help support her and he did and they were able to proceed with the next step of draining all the fluid in my abdomen. He used a catheter of some sort to pierce through my vaginal wall and pierced each individual pocket causing the most unbearable pain and sensation I've ever felt. My legs were shaking, my entire body dripping with sweat, my cries of pain and wincing from all the intensity was heard throughout the office and even made their Embryologist Thomas pop his head out of his office, and asked Dr Larry Andrew "is she ok?" He never responded and proceeded piercing the pockets of fluid with zero numbing or single ounce of sympathy during the ordeal. The only thing he asked me is "can you handle anymore?" to which I replied No, I had already begun to feel some relief from the fluids he had already removed. A total of 340 ccs were removed which is around 12 ounces. During this ultrasound he shows me on the screen my eyes blurred with tears I could barely see he points at the ultrasound screen & said this is "endometriosis scar tissue" and says I need to go see a specialist for this issue before continuing with him for our FET. He removes the ultrasound wand and covers me up and turns off the bright light. Tells me to change and come out when I'm ready. I laid on the exam table for which felt like an eternity not moving and disassociating from the last 20 minutes of utter brutality I sobbed in silence with my husband holdi

He is patient and will go through things more than once if needed until you understand. I received pellets yesterday and it went smoothly. I love his nurse Erin. She's really sweet and kind. So far so good. If you're going there for help with hormones be sure you see Dr. Andrews specifically. I prefer working with him over the PA. Personally preference.

Figured I would confirm the reviews that are coming out saying to steer clear. Had a telephonic…read moreinitial consult with a provider and was suggested a treatment plan. Something about his demeanor clearly emphasized he was completely uninterested in my case. I still proceeded with blood work but couldn't shake the feeling he had zero compassion for me. Turns out this provider was retiring, yet, he was still being allowed to accept new patients. He never communicated results and had I been equipped with this knowledge I would have sought fertility preservation- but elsewhere. It's clear this is a business for them and their top priority is cash flow, not women's health.

Utah Fertility Clinic is one of the worse clinics in business, I had an IVF cycle with them in 2023…read morethat resulted in me having an ovarian abcess. It was very horrible experience. They are very unprofessional and no communication at all. After my egg retrieval, I had to call multiple times to get hold of my assigned nurse to get my result. No follow up calls. My nurse forgot to tell me about a medication that was prescribed by my doctor, that would have made my cycle more successful. Considering how expensive they are, I expected much from their operating room where eggs are retrieved. It was less than standard. The staff are unprofessional and the doctors lack real knowledge or empathy for their patients. Everything here is overpriced and all they care about is your money. They are in this for the money and not to help couples with their dreams of having babies. From the front end staff, to the nurses, doctors, anesthesiologist, back end staff, they are all unprofessional. I remember the anesthesiologist was so unprofessional, he did not introduce himself and had this angry look and grin on his face on the day of my eggs retrieval. My doctor made all the decisions and did not carry us along the process or ask for our concerns or input. I'm not sure how they are still in business. Please do no waste you money, go else where. Don't believe the good reviews, trust me, go elsewhere, its not worth your money or the headaches.

With my last failure they didn't even call to tell me the news. When I brought it up to them my coordinators response was "call when you want to try again!" it was my last embryo. This is not the place to go if you really want to make progress. There is so much emphasis on how…read moremuch money they can extract and no real investment on what really helps. I've done IVF for all of the my kids and our previous clinic was amazing. Stress can seriously impact your success, and they way UFC runs things is basically a round robin. You'll never know who you're seeing for ultrasounds, or procedures, including IUIs. That wouldn't be a big deal, except it seems like no one seems to talk to anyone else and because there is zero continuity you end up feeling like used leftovers no one really wants when you come in. You should never feel like you're bothering them when you're paying full price for their "care". For example, I got two calls on the same day from two separate nurses, one telling me to start a med and one telling me not to. When I asked what the doctor said, I was told, "We don't speak directly with the doctor, we read their notes." Well, duh, but if instructions conflict, you'd think the natural next step would be consult with the ordering physician, don't just guess. Then try to call, good luck getting anyone or getting a call back. If you have a question on meds or what you can do for a severe headache brought on by meds, you'll get nothing. We only tried this clinic because we were new to Utah and after wasting plenty of money we decided not to continue, it took weeks and weeks to get a refund and I had to follow-up with them multiple times to make it happen. Their main office being in Pleasant Grove is also not ideal. There's probably no real impact, but I couldn't help feeling that a very bouncy (construction) and vibration plagued drive home for 40 minutes didn't help the embryo in its efforts to attach. I'm sure it's more the stress of worrying about that kind of thing, or worrying that the very odd nurse who was just munching Cheetos is going to do your transfer and doesn't seem to be part of the A team but the less capable B team. Long story short, UFC is a machine, and there is not beating heart behind it. I prefer to go where there is a genuine interest in success and thought has been given to how to make that happen. Our first Fertility Clinic very smartly had a class which went through your protocol, how to do each injection, and even gave you supplies to practice on an orange. It was nice to feel like I knew what I was doing going into it. You will get NONE of that at this clinic, only a strong arm to the credit card machine to run your card at the end of your appointment. We ended up taking the recommendation from a friend and it was a completely different and wonderful experience. I normally wouldn't even bother to write a review but if you're doing infertility treatment for the first time, you might think this cold and uncaring treatment is just par for the course, it's not, there are much better clinics out there.
