Oh my friggin' Lord, usually to get chicken this good you have to go to some secret underground place run by the Peruvian mob, but hey, here we have a chain fast food place that has exceptional chicken. The pieces are large, they're incredibly juicy, incredibly tender, amazingly flavorful. The wood flavor is there, the savoriness is there. Their salsa is kick-ass, and even their rice is beyond good, not the Spanish rice you get other places, but something that feels special, even though it's probably just little bits of chicken, some herbs, and some bouillon. It's damn good. I am convinced, and this is now my chicken place here in the Palm Springs area. I will happily travel to Cathedral City to buy this chicken, some of the best I've ever had. Went there before the store was closed was gonna place an order when I opened the door. They informed me that they closed so I called back and I said can I speak with the manager? They said the manager I asked if the manager was aware that they close earlier they said oh I'm sorry we don't have any more chicken. It's a chicken facility so that means you should've made sure you had enough chicken poor customer service. They were just mopping the floors and cleaning up and they were just actually ready to leave early. You shouldn't actually close the doors until the facility is closed. Been eating juan pollo for 25 years and this is a great location with friendly staff. They read order notes when ordering online as well which is nice. I would say my only gripe is the potato salad isnt quite right. Juan pollo is famous for its potato salad and I used to live in upland, CA and go to a location there where it was delicious. It feels like its too dry and is usually lacking in seasoning/flavor. It's not quite the correct corporate recipe. Everything else has been good. Though there's been a good few times I've gotten rice thats had no chicken or green onion in it. So that could be worked on to. Anyway. Idc that much. Last time I was in SoCal I enjoyed El Pollo Loco. Now that I've moved to the Coachella Valley, I decided to try Juan Pollo based on their Yelp reviews. I am so glad I did. This location off Ramon Road is easy to access and has a nice, semi-shaded parking lot. The counter person was super friendly. We ordered a half-chicken with three sides, I think it was just over $16, very reasonable. The chicken was so tender, falling off the bone. Just delicious. The sides (we got two beans and one rice) were also very good. Juan Pollo will be our go-to spot for chicken from now on. read more

Tried this place out for a weekend lunch and got their rotisserie chicken salad bowl. Food was good and fresh, perfect for a hot day. The portions were large and good for 2 meals. First time coming to this location as they wernt out here last time I visited. I enjoyed the chicken I got a breast and wing a la cart and a Hard shell chicken taco. The taco was full of meat and plentiful for 2.99 it came with some tasty salsa too! Im sure some people may want a bit more seasoning on the taco meat.. but thats easy to fix with a bit of Salsa and Lemon!! Yumm The breast and wing were cooked to perfection and they wernt overpriced! The Service was Great also I had no complaints and felt that the cashier was attentive and took my order carefully. My first time at any Juan Pollo. I heard great things about it so I was excited to go. There was plenty of parking and the store is clean. We were greeted warmly and the service is quick. We took our food to go. I definitely appreciated the packaging of the food. The side dishes all had lids, nothing was dripping down the side of the bowls. Sadly, the chicken is dry. The yellow rice is really good which has bits of shredded chicken in it. The beans are also really good and include a lot of flavor. But the potato salad is to die for. I literally crave just that sometimes! You can dine in or order take out. They offer individual meal combos for around $8 and up, family meals for about $25 and up which includes a whole chicken, 3 large sides, salsa, and tortillas, and catering options for big parties. The deals are pretty good. Not pricey at all. The customer service is really good here too. Every time. And they also get the orders together really fast and correct. Every time. This is by far the tastiest rotisserie chicken I have ever had in my life (and I'm 70 years old). The spices are addictive, the skin is crispy and the meat is juicy and tender. And as others have said in reviews, I kinda laughed at Mexican potato salad but it is so good! And I wish I had not found out how yummy their cinnamon crisp is--I'm going to have to go on Ozempic if I keep ordering it. I was not familiar with this place although it is close to where I live. First time stopping by this hidden gem in Cathedral City, off of Ramon Rd near Date Palm intersection. Not much ambience for dining in; I assume take-out is 90% of their business. Let me tell you, they have takeout rotisserie chicken locked down like magic! Ordered 1/2 chicken w/ sides (rice & beans) as well as a chicken bowl. Both items were hot, fresh and very tasty AND the order was ready in less than five minutes. The chicken was tender, well spiced and hot. The beans were whole pintos, which we like. The rice was the only disappointing item as it was seasoned unevenly with chicken bullion and that's all. The chicken bowl included all items of the chicken meal mentioned above, but packed up in a convenient bowl to make for 'clean' eating at home. Also comes with choice of corn or flour tortillas and salsa. Pro Tip: Ask for extra pico de gallo; it was super fresh and tasty!! Having grown up in the San Gabriel Valley, I was always a huge fan of Juan Pollo. In my opinion, they have the best rice out of any fast casual/food establishment. That includes Chipotle and you know Chipotle has some bomb rice. You'll sometimes find fragments of chicken in the rice, which tells me they cook it in their chicken fat, which of course makes it the best. I'm not generally a fan of potato salad but I'm a fan of Juan Pollo's. Their hot salsa is so good and I always ask for extra to put on food I cook. And most importantly, their chicken is the best, especially when compared to El Pollo Loco. I'm so glad this location is good as the ones I frequented as a kid and will support this one regularly when in the Coachella Valley. If you're super hungry, I'd get their 1 pound burrito as it could feed you for the entire day! read more
