Food Finding an entire page of vegan options for lunch/dinner and brunch, this is amazing. We got the California burrito with the vegan asada and the tacos. The meat was overflowing in the tacos and came with plenty of salsa. Finding good Mexican food outside of the western part of the country is difficult. Service Was a little slow despite it not being that busy. It is a smaller family run place so that does make sense, but took quite a bit to get another order of drinks and then our check. Juan more taco had really good drinks, a nice atmosphere, and the food was good. The server was very nice, but I felt like he had too many tables, and the food took a wild come out. We went on a Tuesday, where they have a list of entrées that are half off, so we expected our bill to be much lower than it was. I will say the food was very good, the chips were some of the best chips I think I have ever had, they had a smoky salt on them that paired so nicely with salsa and queso. I got the loaded nachos and they were very generous in proportion and smothered with queso. I would definitely go back, but be sure to go when you aren't in a rush. read more

Yay! Brunch is back and it is the best brunch in town! Took my husband and I right back to enjoying incredible Latin American foods in Mexico City and LA. Juan More Taco is unbeatable! We got the vegan Baleadas con todos, the vegan burrito with chorizo and the vegan tres leches pancakes. I love how they have traditional Honduran foods and fun modern foods with Latin influence. Great for catering events, too! We love Juan More Taco's food (it's way more than just another taco place) so turned to Maria and her team to cater my wife's birthday party, with OUTSTANDING results! Our 25 guests raved about the food, and all the arrangements were handled flawlessly. This place surprised us! 50% off limited menu items every Tuesday - I will preface this by saying there is a VERY SPECIFIC segment of the menu that this applies to so don't just order willy-nilly like we did and expect it will all be half-off unless of course you have the wonderfully friendly and understanding server that we did who honored the deal anyways because of our misreading of the menu. Anyways - the queso was deliciously tangy. I am not normally a corn tortilla guy but those homemade tortillas with the shrimp tacos (which include guac and pico btw, nothing else does) were BOMB - the shrimp was perfectly chargrilled and each taco had a generous lump of guac to go with. Legitimately some of the best tacos I have had in a long time. Speaking of generous - the crunchwrap and bowls? ENORMOUS. And delicious. We really wanted to like Juan More Tacos -- and maybe on a different day, we would have -- but unfortunately, our experience left us a bit disappointed. First, the service was understandably slow. There was only one server working the entire dining room, and he was also responsible for making all the drinks at the bar. He was clearly hustling and doing the best he could, but with so much on his plate, we decided to skip ordering cocktails to avoid a long wait. For an appetizer, we tried the Mexican corn fritters. They were fried perfectly -- nice and crispy on the outside, soft with whole corn kernels inside. Unfortunately, the flavor leaned a little too sweet for our liking. We thought the dish could have benefited from more sour cream and fresh cilantro to balance it out. For her meal, my wife ordered three tacos, specifically carne asada, but the kitchen brought out shrimp tacos instead. To their credit, the shrimp were cooked well, but the tortillas were a bit undercooked, and the guacamole topping just didn't pair well with the shrimp. She ended up just eating the shrimp and leaving the tortillas and toppings behind. I ordered the summer corn cakes with shrimp. Like the shrimp tacos, the shrimp itself was great, but the corn cakes were, again, a little too sweet, and the additional toppings didn't do much to enhance the dish. Despite the bumps, we truly felt for the lone server working so hard to keep up with everything. His effort didn't go unnoticed, and we appreciate the hustle. We're willing to chalk this up to an off night and plan to give Juan More Tacos another try -- hopefully with a fully staffed team and a little more balance to the flavors next time. read more

I then ordered the vegan taco trio with corn shell, with al pastor as my "protein" choice. The al pastor is a combination of mushroom and pineapple. Perfect balance of savory and sweet! I have been coming here since my son was born and it never disappoints. The menu changed since the last time we came in and the chicken Al pastor also changed but it was still delicious. Guac was perfect and the service was great even with only the bar serving. Wish it was bigger so we could come more often but I still think this is the best food around. read more

Food was a 4 star. good portions and good flavors. Price was pretty good too. The problem was the service was the worst I have ever had. Waiter brought the food and that was the end of it. Never came back. No drinks, no asking if we needed anything. And we could have used some more salsa because it was really good. Eventually we had to flag down the bar tender to get him to bring us the bill. Yes, the waiter never returned. The bar tender informed us they had to take a call regarding the air conditioner or something. Ok, I get it things happen. But you could also ask someone else to cover the table while you are taking a phone call. So with that going to remove this place off my list of places to go. If you advertise tacos in your restaurant name, then the tacos have to be off the chart... and Juan more hits the mark. A small restaurant, appropriately 10 tables with table size 4 or less plus bar, the atmosphere is nice with a relaxing stylized in calavera art. Service is okay- hit and miss at times and you may need to flag a server down for drinks, to order etc. I rated four stars due to the mediocre service. The menu is more limited than many Mexican restaurants but does not disappoint. About half the menu is appetizers. The dip trio is great with guacamole, salsa and queso- recommended. They also offer fried plantains which I find hard to pass up and so good. While the restaurant focuses on tacos they offer burritos, a burrito, bowl, and quesadillas. While I've been here many times I stick with the tacos! There are a variety of protein options for the plates, including chicken, chicken patron, sweet and savory carnitas, carne asada, birria and fajita veggies. My favorite and recommendations is the chicken patron. A little sweet, a little heat and so savory good. Perfect when you add the restaurants homemade hot sauce. Not for the faint of heart this sauce packs plenty of heat and is the perfect addition to the chicken patron. A close contender is the birria- also fantastic. Tortillas are homemade and I recommend the corn. They are not your small street tacos- these are medium size and they load them! Plenty of protein and the taco trio is enough that you will likely be taking some home. Note that you can try try any variety of proteins for the tacos on the trio plate. The restaurant offers a taco version that has melted cheese on the inside. I tried this and it didn't really add anything to the flavor so I would recommend the regular tacos. There is a full bar, of variety of beers, and other drinks. Parking is a little painful as it's only street parking and can be difficult at peak times. Worth finding the parking spot and taking a little walk to the restaurant. One of my new favorites in Richmond I highly recommend Juan More Taco. Hope to see you there. Happy eating!! read more

Juan More Taco is your neighborhood trendy taco joint. Tacos, drinks, entertainment - what more do you need?! We went on a Friday night and were pleasantly surprised to find live entertainment serenading us during dinner. The restaurant itself is small so be sure to come before or after the busiest dinner hours. We sat at the bar, but there were 1-2 table open around 9pm. What was most impressive was their vegan carne asada tacos, which were very flavorful and "meaty" that my vegan partner had to ask to make sure it was actually impossible meat! We got a side of rice and beans, but honestly the portions were so large that we ended up having leftovers amounting to another full meal! Talk about bang for your buck. Overall would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for vegan Mexican food open late! read more

I came here after seeing some post on instagram showing off the food especially the elote. When I arrived, the restaurant was quite small. I ordered the street corn and taco trio with carne asada, birria, and chicken. 10 minutes after they took my order they came out and told me that they did not have any corn (quite disappointed as I was craving it and it took that long to tell me they couldn't make it). Eventually after a longer wait my tacos came out. The tacos were stuffed with a surprisingly good amount of meat. All of the meat were seasoned quite well with my favorite being the chicken Al pastor. Staff was nice, however they were not to attentive to our needs. Quite terrible service no refills, napkins, or utensils. Afterwards it took over 20 minutes to get the check and I had to ask twice. The tacos ended up costing $15. Exceedingly small restaurant in the fan. This night they were packed and had live music. It was crammed in and you couldn't hear yourself think. They had ONE server. ONE. It appeared there was another guy milling around but he didn't really assist the server with anything really. It took about twenty minutes to put in an order. We got cheese dip and chips and tacos for everyone. The tacos clearly state that they are dressed with cilantro and onions unless you get shrimp tacos because they differ. We ordered a variety and one person ordered the carne asada tacos. It was busy so we understand that it took a while to get food. The queso is absolutely not good. It's very velveeta vibes and had no kick to it or flavor. The salsa was overly limey in a bad way. Very sour as to almost be inedible. The tacos came out and all of the carne asada tacos had pico de gallo on them. While I don't love tomato, I ate mine but the other guests don't eat tomato on tacos at all and it was annoying that this wasn't mentioned on the menu as some people are outright allergic to nightshade. We couldn't send them back because the server was on the other side of the bar and again, only one person. The tortillas were the absolute star of the show. They are clearly handmade and pillowy soft and fresh and I will say the meat had a nice crispy char which I like, but they were a bit too salty. The birria was very good. I will give the tacos a solid 4.3/5 but our water and margs had run out before the appetizers came and we couldn't grab the server again to order another round until we were almost done with the tacos! They need more help and I felt terrible for the server as there was no way for her to handle the whole place by herself. I will say they have a good vegan menu and the variety was nice, but the menu is exceedingly unclear in drink and food descriptions leaving patrons guessing what they will get. I think it is worth the visit but go on a less busy time and ask lots of questions. read more

The Latin American paradise that Richmond vegans have been missing! They now do a vegan option for all of their non-veg dishes, INCLUDING a Sunday brunch! Truly some of the best vegan tacos I've ever had (and I lived in the vegan capital of Portland for a couple years). The vegan birria, al pastor, and asada are all delicious, but the asada takes the cake for me. Juan More Taco's incredibly diverse vegan and mocktail menu enticed us on our anniversary. Having visited a bunch of taco places in Richmond, their menu is a clear differentiator. We chose to keep it simple and ordered chips and salsa, the Nogito and Reformed Pornstar drinks and a plate of vegetarian tacos. The food was incredibly tasty. This is subjective but there were a few things off: the amount of oil; we were also of the opinion that the amount of stuffed veggies could be reduced as we couldn't eat our tacos without stuff falling out. The kitchen is small, but the taste is *tremendous,* the staff heartfelt, the cocktails beautifully crafted, the ambiance fun and friendly, but where you could hear each other talk. We arrived for their 2nd brunch. On initial impression I was worried, as I have allergies: there were only a few items to order on the menu. If you have alpha-gal or dairy or other allergies, or are vegan, know this: the kitchen is conscientious, has separate grills for seperate needs, truly tries and cares. We were all so thrilled with our choices, brought home food to savor (I told our waiter, "These are mementos to remind us to come back!"), and can't wait to return.
