They were very accommodating when we made a reservation for a large group for our team after a tournament. The food was alright, not the absolute best but I definitely ate all of it. The frozen margs were more liquid than preferable but overall it was a good place to bring a large group for a casual bite.

consommé salsa Side of Black Beans

I ordered takeout birria tacos. They're listed under quesadillas on their menu. It came with three tacos that had a lot of meat in them which I appreciated. It came with consommé, black beans, red salsa, and salsa verde on the side as well as a bag of chips. The two salsas had lots of flavor and were delicious. The black beans and consommé didn't have much flavor at all which was disappointing. The consommé had no spice to it and was very oily. The meat in the tacos didn't have much flavor either, but the meat was very tender and plentiful. I don't think I'd order this dish again, but would be willing to try something else.

Taquitos Mexicanos (2 chicken and 2 beef)

Ordered delivery and I got the Taquitos Mexicanos which includes 2 shredded chicken and 2 shredded beef. It was tasty but as you can see in the photo, very dry and no toppings. I asked for some extra salsa for that exact reason but didn't receive it. They put one small cup of salsa in the order for two separate meals. The quesadilla was also tasty but only had a little amount of cheese. Overall the taste was there but not the presentation.

My boyfriend and I were in search of another great Mexican restaurant in town, and I think we hit a jackpot with this one. By far one of the best al pastor tacos I've ever had. The flavoring is exceptional! Our waiter was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed too. I'll DEFINITELY be back for these tacos!

Whenever I go to any other Mexican restaurant, I feel like I'm cheating on El Caporal, my first love! This is your typical Mexican restaurant. Bright fiesta colors, cheerful setting and a fun atmosphere. As soon as we sat in our booth, we were greeted with chips and salsa from a pleasant server. We ordered quesadillas, the chicken and mushroom one was full of shredded chicken in a tasty sauce, sautéed mushrooms and cheese. Mine was a plain cheese quesadilla and it was a tad greasy and I like them more browned. They offer tableside guacamole service, $1.00 tacos on Mondays, and happy hour specials. The queso dip was too runny for my taste. But the salsa was pretty good. For a speedy bite at a good price, this is a fine choice.

As always, a great meal! This is our neighborhood Mexican restaurant and definitely our favorite. We were seated immediately, drinks and chips were brought right away. Our server was attentive without being annoying and got our orders perfectly. The food was brought out quickly and was served hot. Everything tasted great. We'll be back!!!

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner. Masks are optional. It wasn't very busy. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly! We sat down and received warm chips and salsa prettt quickly. It didn't take long for our waiter to bring us drinks or our food either. I ordered the enchilada don lupe (2 potato and 2 cheese). It was really yummy! I had never had a potato enchilada. Although I was under the impression that it would be mixed with onions and peppers? Maybe I'm recalling the menu incorrectly. I wish I had more tomatoes with the meal but it was good. My boyfriend ordered the burrito grande. He ended up wanting more cheese on top of his burrito (good thing he ordered the queso). The steak was also kind of dry and chewy. It was disappointing.

This place was Great. I had no desire to boil another chicken so I looked around and found some Chirzo and Enchiladas. Ordered a pick up, payed my bill and stopped in and I regret not staying. It was very clean. Well lite and everyone was cleaning. If the dinning room looked this nice I can only guess how very clean the kitchen is. Price is affordable, menu was easy to read and by reading the eyes of those that worked there, they were all smiling under their masks. I am coming back and bringing my wife. This will make a nice date night.

I don't know why it has been ages since I have been to this restaurant. We used to go there from time to time many years ago. My boyfriend went to eat lunch here one day and he came back bragging about how great their original tacos were. So we have checked this place out together a few times and the food is pretty good and the service is pretty good too. I was a little bit skeptical to order a margarita here, if you've read any of my older reviews I am very fond of what is known to be a "blackjack Margarita" from a different restaurant. However the last time I went to that specific restaurant they didn't even know what I was talking about when I ordered one. I digress. So I decided on a Thursday evening to order just a plain regular traditional frozen margarita, nothing fancy. It came out and was an odd color green, I was very very skeptical. Oh my it is a game changer. Probably the best margarita that I have ever had. I was not aware that Thursday nights they have Margarita specials, it was under $4. Boom! I can't wait to go back for Margarita Thursday and order a jumbo margarita, I think they may even have something similar to a blackjack Margarita on their menu. I also think I'm going to really enjoy trying some of the different items they have on the menu. The first time I tried the taquitos Mexicanos (very good), the second time I had a quesadilla that was delicious.

    That isn't a mushroom...

Be wary if you're a vegetarian because we found a piece of STEAK in my friend's "VEGETARIAN" quesadilla. This should have never happened and is completely unacceptable. Seems like this restaurant carelessly prepares its food and lets vegetarian dishes be contaminated with meat...

Awesome authentic and original Mexican food!!

I noticed the ice cream/yogurt spot nearby was hopping. There was a person asking for change outside the front door. We were greeted by an enthusiastic host and seated immediately at a booth up front. The server came by within seconds and brought us water and place settings. We decided to get the chips and salsa for an appetizer and a pair of melting chimichangas for entrees. I can't resist some chorizo and steak. My partner got the chimichanga without chorizo and with chicken. The ambiance was colorful with beautifully painted murals on each wall, and the atmosphere was undeniably loud. There were lots of patrons. The place was packed, even at the bar, so your mileage may vary. We received our orders within minutes of each other, so there wasn't much of a wait time. The chips and salsa were homemade, fresh, warm, and delicious (muy rico). Same for the entrees; exactly what I want in a Mexican food restaurant. The chorizo and steak were well-cooked, seasoned, and chopped finely, but not ground. I was in heaven with that chimichanga. We had to take home leftovers. The next night, heated in the oven at 325 for 30 minutes, they were similarly excellent. The night ended without dessert, sadly (too full). However, the server was quick and efficient, and he was always around to fill water and bring anything we needed throughout the meal. Great experience overall. We will definitely return here whenever we have a hankering for some good Mexican food at reasonable prices. I can recommend this place to anyone who appreciates hearty and filling Mexican food.

The ambiance can be described as eclectic and casual. It's great for big groups and relaxed lunches. There's a variety of menu options for food and drink. Our server was nice, but she didn't really answer our questions about the menu or substitutions, which was a little inconvenient. Also, we kept having to ask for utensils and napkins, which made our food get a bit cold. The pineapple habanero margarita tasted like spicy pineapple juice and was pretty expensive. It was pretty, but not worth the money. The food also was really average, but the portion sizes were good for sharing. The huitlacoche tacos were a little bland and soggy, the chicken chipotle tacos had a good sauce but were also soggy and the fajitas did not have enough seasoning. Not a restaurant that I would come back to, but I liked it's proximity to other dessert places nearby.

Let me also give nuance to my love of Lolita's by saying first and foremost that I had the best cocktail I've ever had here, the Hotboxed Ferrari (Siete Misterios Mezcal, Byrrh, Piña, Campari, Fernet Branca, Cinnamon Deme, Salted Grapefruit Foam). I am rabid for Mezcal. I want to kiss the mixologist who developed this drink, because it is absolutely a balance of flavors that showcases the beautiful and perfect smokiness of Mezcal and good grief I almost fell out after my first sip. *deep breaths* So we just continue riding this wave of joy with the salsa and tostadas. Three types of salsas with unique flavors and different levels of heat. All three incredible. Blue-corn tostadas made in-house. And then a bowl of pozole verde. This damn sopa had me in a chokehold as well because how was everything perfect??? The textures, the flavors...I think I might have forgotten where I was because I got lost in that bowl. Best pozole verde I've ever had. Ordered the Choripapa and Suadero tacos- at this point I really could have ordered just one because your girl was almost at maximum capacity. The tacos are not cheap- ranging from $11-14- but to their credit, they do not skimp on the fillings and the flavors are top tier. Add in those fresh blue corn tortillas and you have a combination that truly did not miss in any way, shape, or form. Only disappointment I encountered the entire night was one of the drinks on the menu not actually being available (the frozen horchata-pumpkin colada), but my bartender made me a horchata coffee cocktail that definitely made up for it. Shout out to her, because she was throwing down on them drinks. So. True artistry experienced throughout the night, from the cocktails to the food. The atmosphere is so cool inside too, definitely a light summery feel which is a nice respite from this crazy winter blast we're experiencing at the moment. Love this spot and highly recommend.
