I was impressed with many garage door repair places at how quickly they responded. I went through Zelp-shout out to Zelp for their projects and sending to vendors quickly. What I quickly learned is that Zelp has bots or AI who respond after a certain hour and then the vendor returns the call later. I had my garage door opener for 22 years from Liftmaster and before (2) days ago I didn't know anything about garage door openers other than one day I envisioned I wouldn't be able to open the door, but didn't realize there would be ZERO warning. I was out on a Saturday night enjoying a lovely quaint Italian meal to come home to a garage door that didn't open. Just hours ago I walked out the same door with no issue. In a panic, thankfully I had my house keys as I usually walk out the garage door. So impressed by Liftmaster that I decided to go with another Liftmaster. I went with the 87504-267 Model that came with (2) remotes, a keypad and new door opener. Big change from 22 years ago- now this model has LED lights, video for the garage and programmable on your phone with Myq app. There were some repairs places that tried to steer me to cheaper models and some that said they would install only Liftmaster. I don't know that I will get another 22 years as things aren't made as good as they used to be. It happened on a Saturday night and many were closed on Sunday and I needed to get to work on Monday, but who I decided on wasn't able to come on a Sunday but he was worth the wait but came in the morning. I liked the way he explained things to me and he was a little cheaper than some other bids, but it wasn't about the price as thanks to Zelpers on here I stayed away from the ones with bad reviews and other zelpers who said they were too expensive. What was the deciding factor for me was he said he was a third generation family business. He kept me informed on the time he was going to show up. He offered free estimates but I had done my research and knew what I wanted. When he arrived I didn't know that my springs and coil were broken and he gave me a good price to fix that as well. MANY COMPANIES DON'T DO FREE ESTIMATES... nice touch that he does. I met the owner Jeff who had gotten a bit delayed in an accident on the 202 but he was great-got the phone app working- programmed my car and the wall unit and left with a handshake and smile. Jeff is a very respectful young man who has learned from his family how to provide excellent service. You get 1 year labor and 5 years parts. Their motto is " Don't Cuss, Call Us" and they also offer 24/7 emergency service at no additional cost. Other than unavailability on a Sunday, which I understand as a few installers could come out, there was nothing else I could have asked for. BIG THANK YOU JEFF- KEEP UP THE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Super fast friendly response after hours for spring replacement. Ends up the builders of our new house installed a single spring, which is dangerous and kids could have easily been crushed when the door came crashing down earlier. Very quick response. I was quoted $450-550 for the replacement of two overhead roll up garage springs. Unfortunately, when the techs (2) arrived, they quoted $650. After I told them what I was originally quoted, they called the office and the quote was adjusted to $550. I found this a bit hinky. $550 was still on the high side of the other quotes I'd received. Do business with these people. Here's why: I called to get a tech out for a service call and Jeff (l believe) was responsive and professional. My usual guy almost always takes a week to arrive and instead Jeff offered to send his guy out the day of the call or the day after. We settled on the next day (Sunday) and the tech was delayed due to an emergency service call. He arrived about 45 minutes late but once there, fixed everything (cleared out error codes, adjusted the open/close settings, repositioned the gate pushrod, and reprogrammed the remotes). Everything worked beautifully and they were very apologetic about the timing. I won't tell you what they did financially as an apology but let's say it was disproportionately beneficial to the customer (in this case, me). It was simply above and beyond. Called JTs, they were busy so the owner Jeff came out that day, his cost was less than the other companies for a better quality door. My tenant locked the door with the metal lock and later tried to open it with the remote. Jeff said he would try to repair it, no one offered to even try to fix it but him.
