If you are in downtown Baton Rouge, this is a spot to not miss if you like Rum. This distillery…read moreoffers a variety of rums that you can try through flights or experience in a variety of traditional cocktails or in frozen mix drinks. Each drink is handcrafted. The rum and cocktails made for us were solid. The bartenders were awesome. Great interaction with guest. Bartenders were very knowledgeable of the distillery plus the drinks they were pouring. I appreciated the enthusiasm. The distillery is very nice space. The distillery offers bar seating, lounge chairs and tables. Plus there is an expansive outdoor seating area. As the distillery does not offer food, they often coordinate food trucks to enjoy with your drinks. A crawfish boil was going on the day we were there. At the distillery you can purchase bottles of rum to go. Plus they sell various shirts to me and women. Distillery owns a parking lot adjacent to the building. Parking is free. Inside scoop: the distillery offers tours for 15 dollars

If I could rate this place a 100/5 stars I would! I planned a small birthday gathering for my…read moreboyfriend's 33 birthday this past weekend and it was amazing. I wanted a great place with a chill vibe and great drinks and they did not disappoint. The service was amazing and the drinks were perfect. I got their raspberry frozen drink and also tried their flight of rum which comes with over six different types of rum, light and dark. The bartenders were so sweet and they made amazing drinks all night. I also tried their old fashioned and fresh mint mojito ( taken directly from their herb garden)! Everything was done perfectly. They have a nice, large patio outside with plenty of room to sit. They have board games, darts, large Jenga, and more. We were able to spend quality time with family and friends and enjoy the night. We were also allowed to bring our own food from outside which was perfect for the occasion. I cannot wait to come back to such an amazing place located right downtown next to Ballys casino. They also offer tours of their distillery for a great price! Thank you so much for an amazing experience.

When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner who told us that the next scheduled tour was in 6-weeks. My cousin explained that he has been following their progress since they started and was fascinated with what they were doing with rum. He also explained that he would not be back in the area for a couple more years. The owner explained to us that they were short handed, but we could follow him around and he would explain as he was actually distilling the rum. The best part was when we asked how much we had to pay for the tour. He coolly told us that we just had to "pay attention"! He let us follow him around for about an hour, explaining why they did this and that, and telling us stories about how his family have been making rum in Louisiana since the 1750s! He walked us through the process with obvious passion--explaining everything from the sugarcane sourcing to the still they use--without ever making it feel like a lecture. You can tell this is a labor of love, not a corporate tasting room. At the end of the tour, my rum nerd NYC cousin who has toured over 25 distilleries begged the owner for a job, half jokingly, half seriously. The owner kindly smiled and said he gets asked the same thing all the time, by some big name distillers too. By the time we left, we felt like we were best friends with the guy. He even gave us his gumbo recipe! I've been bragging about how nice the owner was and forgot to mention the rum. One word - epic!
