Every year I see super cute Mardi Gras clothes and every year I want some. I really, really want a…read moresparkly sequined jacket and an amazing purple, green and gold outfit that looks cute and trendy and NOT loud and obnoxious. This year I saw some glittery shoes all decked out in MG colors and YALL. I *need* some Mardi Gras shoes. I am a born and bred Louisiana girl. Like why do I not have a pair of sparkly MG shoes yet?! And so I get to shopping and then remember why. I am cheap y'all. I like my money to stay in my pockets and Mardi Gras gear ain't exactly inexpensive. I just can't justify spending upwards of $70 for a pair of shoes that I will only wear for a few weekends out of the year. This is what brought me to Beads Galore. I was hoping I'd find some cute stuff here for a little less than what I was seeing at all the boutiques. I didn't find any huge discounts but I did find a Mecca of MG stuff, like way more than I had imagined. I rode in a parade this year so I picked up a few things here. If you are riding and need some special throws you will definitely find them here. Two locations, this one being the bigger one and in Broussard... smaller, yet just as great. The owners here are FANTASTIC and so helpful so if you have questions, don't be shy.

The staff was so very friendly & let me just browse through the aisles without feeling rushed at all. Happy Mardi Gras to them all can't wait to go back. Wished I'd snapped a few pictures inside.

The staff here is so friendly and welcoming and you're in for a big surprise after walking through the doors, this store is filled with souvenirs and gifts items with just about any kind of snacks you can imagine. The restrooms are immaculate and spacious you can see the team here understands what's important to travelers. I picked up a cute wooden refrigerator magnet for the RV that documents our visit with the store's theme and location. There are always interesting places to stop while traveling and Henry's is among the great ones in my opinions...

It may not look like much on the outside but rest assured there's plenty to appreciate. That's high praise for a place not named Buc'ees. There is so much to process here. There is most of the basic things that come with rest stops with snacks, drinks, and (fairly clean) bathrooms. However, there's so much more: full fledged hot food restaurant serving legit Cajun specialties, souvenirs galore, multiple gas station pumps, and Tesla superchargers. The restaurant has boudin balls and cracklins like much of the surrounding area, but they've also got a few fabulous items worth getting. They close in the early evening and are not open on Sundays. During the late night hours, the hot foods become super limited with junk food pizza and hot dogs. And best of all? They're open 24 hours.
