Thank you Indoor Air Repair for making this easy on me! The two other companies? One company (Rapid Home Restoration) offered to charge us $200 to verify that it was in fact mold (dude, it's clearly mold). I sent the other company (Moldman) a video of the mold and never heard back with an estimate.

Rick came out on December 9 to provide an estimate and was thorough, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. He and his associate scheduled us at their next availability--January 7 for removal of the old insulation and January 8 for installing new blown fiberglass insulation. Everything went smoothly, the work was clean and efficient, and they clearly take pride in doing things the right way. One unexpected (and very appreciated) bonus was Rick adding missing drywall in our HVAC room, which was a great extra touch. We'll definitely be having Rick back later this summer to handle crawl space insulation for an addition to our home. Great experience from start to finish.

He immediately communicated that he identified mold he discussed next steps for remediation with us. The next week, David's team returned to remove the affected drywall and flooring. During the remediation process, the team was very communicative and they were careful to limit the extent of their remediation to only the affected materials. Additionally, we appreciated their efforts to protect the non-affected areas of our home and their diligent cleaning process. David and his team also took several pictures to document their findings, which was very helpful when we navigated the insurance claims process. After the initial mold remediation phase, David was very accessible and helpful as we tried to identify the source of the moisture and mold. After we thought we addressed the source, we hired David and his team to perform the drywall re-installation and painting. During the drywall repair phase, David and his team helped us identify the true cause of the moisture, which was a plumbing issue. David and his team quickly alerted us to this issue as they were performing the repairs and paused their work so we could address the plumbing issue before proceeding. Ultimately, the drywall repairs and painting were completed the following week and they didn't charge us additional fees for the unforeseen project delay and rescheduling. Once again, we were very happy with the quality of the work performed and the team's diligent cleaning process. Even after all of the work was completed, David was very helpful and responsive as we navigated the insurance claims process. Overall, we're glad that we hired Moldman to help us address this stressful situation and we highly recommend their services.

They sealed off the area, removed the damaged drywall, and treated the mold thoroughly. They later returned to install new drywall and insulation, and they primed the area to prepare it for painting. We're extremely happy with their work, and we were finally able to restore our master closet.

I chose APM because it is a fully licensed, well-established family owned and operated business that has all five-star consumer ratings with Yelp and Google. Also, in researching potential companies I determined that APM's cost for their service was very reasonable. I dealt directly with the owner Brett Keller who was extremely accommodating with regard to setting up an appointment date for the test that would work for me. At the scheduled time and day (Friday) Brett met me at the property driving his work truck. It was in pristine condition and when Brett retrieved his equipment from the enclosed truck bed, I noticed that everything was clean, well-organized, and properly secured. Brett then sampled the suspect material and explained to me that the sample would be submitted to an independent lab for analysis, which was standard procedure done to ensure the integrity of the results. He said that because the lab wasn't operational over the weekend, I would not get the results of the analysis until approximately 4:00 p.m. the following Monday. Brett then unhurriedly detailed to me what the abatement process would entail should asbestos be present and I elected to have APM handle the work. The following Monday at approximately 1:00 p.m. I received from Brett an email containing a complete chain of custody document tracking the acquisition of the sample and its submission to the lab as well as the results of the analysis. Fortunately, the analysis was negative for the presence of asbestos. I was completely satisfied with APM's high-quality service and give it my strongest recommendation.

Fast forward to this week, I was ready to sign the agreement and pay the deposit - the rep asked me to confirm the 2x4 framing. I asked him how he wanted me to do this - he suggested I drill pilot holes in each wall or pay a 3rd party to do this and that ARC was not responsible for verifying the details of our home. Not responsible for validating a critical project detail before having you customer pay thousands of dollars?! Extremely poor customer service and frankly, a lazy sales team.
