The motor in my radon fan was failing and needed replacement. It is less than 3 months outside the…read more5 year warranty. I called DuPage Radon and the very nice woman who answered the phone made it sound like they might cover it, but when she talked to her boss, he said no. Their quote to replace the unit was $400 (they were originally paid approximately $1,200 five years ago) and the soonest they could do it was New Year's Eve. I was able to find the exact same model radon fan at Home Depot for $150 and it literally took me no more than 15 minutes to remove the old unit (and I've never done this before). I'll install the new one when it arrives in the next few days. I don't know about you, but $500 an hour for labor seems excessive to me. Obviously I'm in the wrong profession. Meanwhile, I'm going to remove the DuPage Radon sticker from the cover just out of spite.

What a great experience! A visit to my home was scheduled soon after my initial contact. He explained the reasons for the design and patiently answered my questions. Then, he provided me a proposal. I felt the price was reasonable and scheduled the installation. On the day of the installation Ruben and Tony arrived around 9 AM in a DuPage Radon Contractors van and introduced themselves. They told me they expected to complete the installation by 3 PM in the afternoon. They appeared to work diligently in the basement and garage, competing the work around 4 PM at which time Ruben took me on a tour to observe the new, functioning mitigation system. I couldn't be happier. The radon readings on my tester immediately started dropping and now measure under 1.00. I would highly recommend DRC.

They are well experienced and will help you find the best solution for your budget. They gave me advice beyond what I requested and this is going to sound like a glaze fest but seriously if I could hire them for every other renovation I'm in the middle of, I would.

I told the rep that other companies have inspected our home and stated that our walls are suitable for blown in insulation. ARC never came to visit our home - while their competitors did this as a standard account management cycle. Fast forward to this week, I was ready to sign the agreement and pay the deposit - the rep asked me to confirm the 2x4 framing. I asked him how he wanted me to do this - he suggested I drill pilot holes in each wall or pay a 3rd party to do this and that ARC was not responsible for verifying the details of our home. Not responsible for validating a critical project detail before having you customer pay thousands of dollars?! Extremely poor customer service and frankly, a lazy sales team. I am sure the crews doing the work are great, but the accounts team could use a refresh. I will work with a competitor unless ARC has employees willing to visit their prospective customers!

Andy was kind enough to keep in contact with me, letting me know they WOULD have someone available!! Bruce showed up the following two days- on time and at the time I requested. They get an A++++ and a huge THANK YOU! They were terrific and I would recommend them to anyone who asked! Keep up the good work!

The contractors who actually did the work did terrible. Very young with no experience. All the trim had to be resanded by the home owner and repainted. the corners didn't match up at any section and the home owner had to repair. The flooring had to be pulled and relaid 3 times with several gaps, pieces missing, and is still messed up. The cabinets have nicks and chunks missing from when they hung them. They filled them with putty and you can still see the blemishes. They have to add panel pieces to cabinets they drilled through to semi fix their mess up. They pulled the trim and left the walls with missing pieces of drywall when putting new trim back. They didn't fix or paint where they had laid the trim. they pulled the back splash and used unmatching drywall to replace what was cut out. Then just laid the back splash over the drywall so now it's unlevel. I would not recommend to my worst enemy.
