Looking to Make my back alley entry Great Again. Well I guess it was never great, until now. It was a little tight getting in and out of the driveway so I thought I would get a few bids to get the work done. Carlos came over a few months ago and provided a quote. The quote was about what I was expecting and Carlos was so nice I did not get any other quotes. Then life happened and I had to postpone for a couple of months. Yesterday we got back in touch. He and his crew came out today and completed the work. Extremely happy with the outcome. Provided will be a few pictures. The before, during, after and a couple bonus pictures of some unknown dude stealing their Stihl blower. The thief stole it while they went out for lunch. Carlos, from JS Landscape & Excavation came to our home to repair a few sprinkler heads, install a new controller, and calibrate the whole system. He operated using one of my favorited maxim's, "Be brief, be bright and be gone." He was very knowledgeable, provided some good training on the new controller, and it was all done in a couple of hours. Carlos of JS Landscaping did a fine job installing the irrigation system on our property. However, his crew had cut a ziply cable in our backyard and we were left without internet for 2 days. Later Ziply laid a new line from the front yard and charged us 1500$. My wife reached out to Carlos to discuss the terms. He seemed agreeable on the call and later he blocked both of us and we're unable to get hold of him and he is non responsive to the Claim Adjustors messages too. This is unacceptable treatment and he offered us a 200$ discount from the quote which is like less than 5%. We have filed a complaint with BBB. I wish I could give negative stars. read more

Unreliable and unprofessional. This company came out for an estimate, agreed on a project cost via email, and setup a date and time for their start date. Leading to the start date, they did not respond to calls, emails, or texts. The disappeared without any communication and did not show up on the assigned start date agreed upon. This company put us back 4 weeks for other projects waiting for this to happen. Avoid them as it is simply not worth the possibility they will no-show and bail on your project without notice. read more

we had a weird request: getting a stub out from the water main the median strip in front of our house so that we could install a drip system for raised beds that we plan to install. we requested a ton of quotes from a list provided by anji (stupid rebranding) & js landscape was on the high end *but* their estimate was really detailed (& even included pictures!) so it was obvious they knew what they were doing. after approving the estimate, they scheduled a time only few days later, showed up when they said they would, did the work *plus* an additional thing i forgot to ask them about initially, cleaned up extremely well, & explained everything they did. i'd also like to add that the person we dealt with was extremely personable, professional & knowledgeable. we have future plans for our backyard & will definitely use them. read more

We purchased a swimspa and needed to have concrete poured not only for the slab but as a retaining wall along the back of our home. Carlos was very responsive and his quote was professional, quick and competitive. After accepting the bid he set a start date sooner than I anticipated. His team was professional and efficient. We did not anticipate needing side retaining walls but they were needed. Carlos added this in without additional charge as he also did not anticipate needing them. Neighbor had some trees removed and incline on my side of the fence began collecting water along my garage.Carlos came by with ideas and an estimate to transform the area to rv parking.we ran into so many obstacles-huge rocks tree stumps and huge tree roots that had me really worried about being able to complete the project but Carlos kept telling me not to worry he'd take care of everything-and him and his guys got it done.A lot of extra work but Carlos stuck to the agreed price and I am very happy with the finished product.I will will be contacting Carlos and his team for my next project for sure! read more

Update: Carlos contacted me and came out to the property and reseeded. He did a final adjustment of sprinklers to ensure that the new seed would get sufficient water. He left the remaining bag of seed with us. I've upgraded my review of JS Landscape and Excavation. I wanted to be able to give Carlos a good review, as everything started out so great. He was quick to reply, quick to come over and give a bid and started the job on time. He was very communicative...until he was not. We had Carlos and team excavate our existing yard, bring in soil/sand, and hydroseed. A few sprinkler heads were broken in the process, but Carlos and team fixed them and came back out to reposition them. Here's where it goes bad...we were the last hyroseed of the day. Carlos ensured us that this was a good thing because we would get extra seed. Not the case. I think being the last of the day meant that the seed was spotty at best. We have many areas where there is no grass growing, and it's been well over a month since the hyrdroseed. I've contacted Carlos by phone, email and many texts, including photos of the areas. Originally he said he would be back out but the date came and went and there was no communication. Now I'm left with a yard that is not worth the price I paid. Apparently JS Landscape and Excavation does not stand behind their service or product. I've attached photos so you can be the judge. Perhaps if you are having sod put down, use JS Landscaping, but if you are doing hydroseed, buyer beware! The other companies I received bids from guaranteed the hydroseed. I assumed JS did too. I guess I'm the fool for assuming. A lot of money for essentially a crappy result. read more

I received an estimate for concrete work, confirmed via email the details of the job and signed the estimate. Two days before the job was scheduled to start I received an email saying they couldn't do the full job for the agreed upon price. After asking for clarification they pulled out of doing the job completely. I wasted 3 weeks thinking I had secured a contractor only to be massively disappointed without explanation. Don't waste your time thinking they will do your job. A signed estimate means nothing to them. read more

Carlos made sure that each sprinkler head worked like I wanted it to, answered my numerous questions, installed the controller the way I wanted it, trained me on how to use the app, fixed up the lawn, and had everything well cleaned up.
