Updating my review from last fall. The work AKT did was great last fall. Good work at a fair price. However, this week we asked AKT to come back and complete work that we priced out with them last fall (lawn restoration work that they recommended we wait to do until this spring), AKT quoted us DOUBLE the cost compared to what we were quoted just 4 months prior. While I could see a modest increase for inflation and the cost of gas, double is unreasonable. Buyer beware. read more

We had a very pleasant experience working with Kevin and his team at AKT Landscaping for a two-day yard and garden project that required a ton of weeding, trimming back overgrown trees and bushes, removing dead vegetation, mulching and planting new greenery. When we met Kevin for the initial consultation, we were greeted with a warm smile as he listened closely to our requests and gave his professional input to help us ground and round out our vision. We felt confident Kevin walked away with a solid understanding of our project. In our meetings with other landscaping service providers, we could tell most of the finer details were lost on them. Not on Kevin. He took the time to recap everything we talked about and gave us a quote on the spot. We told him we'd get back to him after doing some comparison shopping. His price was aligned with other quotes we received. But his level of care and attention to detail is unparalleled, which is what made us want to hire him. An added bonus was that he could start working on our project the very next week, whereas others said it would take at least three weeks before they got to us. What sets Kevin apart from other highly-rated landscaping service providers was his honest way of doing business. These landscapers blew my mind. I went from thinking about just hiring out a huge yard clean up project after spending some time out of town and Kevin standing in my driveway with a hedge clipper in something like 72 hours. My property was an overgrown mess and they spent 3 full days pruning, clipping, weeding, and now I look like a much more responsible citizen. I used the Yelp project feature to find a landscaper who would help me with yard work projects for a home I just purchased in Redmond. That's how I came to meet Kevin, the owner of AKT Landscaping. He was very quick to respond to my project inquiry and immediately scheduled an in person assessment. Note that 2 of the other landscaping referrals i received either cancelled morning of the assessment or wanted to do the assessment via pictures? Kevin was open and honest with his assessment, especially the bamboo removal that was invading into my neighbors lawn. He also showed me ivy that had infiltrated another section of my fence and highly recommended that it be removed. We discussed timeline and quickly offered an estimate that was very competitive compared to bids I received from larger landscaping companies. AKT finished the project in under a week, but what I valued most was that Kevin communicated frequently and was a pleasure to work with.
