What impressed us right away was Ben's friendliness, and skill at explaining the process and steps he would take to build our driveway. He made sure to involve us in any decisions that needed to be made. Since we wanted to widen the driveway, he said he could demo part of the brick planter and reroute it to give us more space. We asked for handrails up to our porch and he got us just the color and shape we asked for. We were so pleased with his work that we added on the rebuilding of our backyard planter that was falling apart. Ben and his team worked extremely hard every day, and Ben was on site from early morning to quitting time, just as he promised he'd be. They cleaned up the site every afternoon before leaving. We took our some cabinets, and needed to fill in a large section of pavers. We needed it to match and look as seamless as possible. I had doubts as to whether this could be done at all. They took extra pavers we already had- that we had stored poorly and they were very weathered and dirty, and other companies said couldn't be used. (The specific pavers are no longer are in production though) Cement Kings used these, cleaned them thoroughly with special solution, cut them to fit, and did it in such a way that it didn't look like a block had been replaced. We had also had them re-sand and re-seal the entire patio of pavers. It looks fantastic. They moved all of our heavy furniture out of the way, and later put it all back neatly, even taking care to dust it off. So reliable, professional, easy to work with, and willing to go above and beyond. Also the "Cement King" is so nice - even welcomed my curious little observer to "help" him (see photo!). I have worked with John twice for my previous house and current house. For our first house, the…read moreproject involved demo'ing our existing stucco, adding insulation, applying new coats of stucco, finish with smooth stucco and accent sidings. He also demo'ed our entrance concrete and installed pavers. Everything was done according to plan and there was no surprises. Price was reasonable. We got a new home and needed to add a top smooth stucco on existing stucco. We also had to modify our 3 single-door garage into a 1 single plus 1 double door. We also needed to install a new entry door, window sills, etc. John came through again with a reasonable price after interviewing a few others. The garage door modification was very substantial involving structural engineering drawing, replacing steel beam, new framing, etc. John was able to complete all of these and helped us pass final inspection. We had to pause for over 6 months waiting for our custom entry door to be made, and once it arrived John wrapped up everything without any delays. In all honesty we never worked with any GC more than once, but John is the only exception.
