Just had Vicente and crew finish a very tricky walkway. It bordered our house and a hillside retaining wall. The old walkway was coming a part and we needed a new one. Vicente came out spent a good amount of time talking to me to figure out the best way to do this so it had excellent drainage and a nice appearance. Good communication all the way around which is very important for contractors to do. And a lot don't. He put a low curb on the outside edge building everything up. Excellent job on the prep, good rebar work ( like it's supposed to have) - the old walkway had none. We put some color in the cement which cost a bit more. It really has a nice clean design and so much better than what we had. Everything turned out great. The price was very reasonable compared to some other bids I got. This is a smaller family run company so they don't have the overhead some of the other guys do. It did take a day longer to do, but I really think it was more complicated than originally planned. I had the demo done first, then they had to take a one week break because I needed to have other foundation work done by another company, so they were able to accommodate that schedule. The cleaned up well each day and clearly know what they are doing. I did get charged extra for putting in all new drain lines which was not part of the original bid but the price seemed reasonable so no complaints. Would love to give him a good review...I texted him to come see my job. My job was to break up my current single driveway and redo the concrete so it would be 20x24 for 2 car parking Vicente said no problem he could come by on July 2nd at 4 pm At 410 pm I called him and he said he said I'm about an hour away. Ok no problem I'll wait for him. He has good reviews. Would have been nice to hear from him since I took off from work early to meet him. He finally made it and all sounded great. After reviewing 3 other quotes, we decided to go with Vicente. I called and left a message and said he won the deal. We would like to receive his written contract of what we agreed on. I saw the great reviews here and so called them. Vicente came out and gave an estimate to replace my driveway. He emphasized the need to slope the new driveway so the water doesn't pool, which I liked hearing. Their schedule was full so I had to wait a few weeks, but the crew came on the day they were scheduled to arrive. They were worth the wait. Vicente's father actually ran the crew. They removed and hauled away my existing concrete and dirt. There were a lot of roots under the driveway which they also removed. The roots caused my old driveway to buckle so much I couldn't close the garage gate. The new driveway is smooth and it looks great. Water flows down like it should. We got our garage and drive way redone mid August and slab in the garage got cracks. Since it has not been 3 months, we called them to find out what is going on. They told my husband that it might be bad batch from concrete company but they need to test to find out. We need to re-do the slab in the garage right away. The cracks got bigger and uneven. I do not know when they are going to send some one to test. I just want the slab fixed asap and get over this. Hope that Vicente will fix this problem soon. Overall I am happy with the work, the price was reasonable, and Vicente was nice to work with. I have a house in Torrance and had the hardest time finding someone to come out to see my project and provide me a quote. It was a 24' long x 6' tall CMU block wall along a sideyard property line and the cost was split between me and my neighbor. It took some time to get things coordinated (Vicente was busy and my neighbor's house was under construction and so he had his own schedule to work around) but we finally got it completed at the end of last year. So relieved to get it done. VG did a clean job (much nicer workmanship than my neighbor's subcontractor who was really sloppy on his section of the wall, especially the side I have to look at) and once started VG finished as promised. I just had to be patient and trust that he would follow through. I would recommend VG and hire them again for future concrete work. read more

VG Masonry was hired to remove an elevated concrete slab and replace it with one that is level with the rest of the concrete in the backyard. From the original estimate to the installation of the new concrete slab, everything was accomplished when and how expected. Since VG Masonry was the only contractor to actually provide an estimate, don't know how VG's price compares to other contractors; however, it was in the ballpark for what I thought a job of that size might cost.
