I was traveling to a store in Fairlawn until some of the produce I purchased there were old, rotten--avocados looked like they were unedible or frozen and then defrosted but that is the subject of another review of THEM. Continuing with the nice produce from Heinens I am very happy with it. IF anything is ever not to my satisfaction they gladly give me a refund without a hassle. The people are super friendly and helpful. If I ask for help with something on a higher shelf due to a shoulder injury they are most willing to stop what they are doing and help. The checkout cashiers are likewise very pleasant. It is nice to go in and have a short chatty conversation about weather, products, or whatever might come up. Once I broke something throwing it away outside and within a few seconds someone came up and told me not to worry about it and cleaned it up straight away---no shame expressed to me for this embarassing thing. When I am in the store people always ask me in the produce department if they can help me find something. Heinens also sends me emails with deals specifically to my history of purchases. That is so cool. These personal deals are in addition to weekly deals. I would purchase more of the prepared foods if they did not contain so much of the canola/soy. Now I have not checked them recently but it seemed everything, as good as it looked had these oils I would rather avoid. I would like some organic choices with REAL olive oil for those of us who eschew the aforementioned oils. I know they try and carry organic products that are packaged---the more the better to increase my choices. One other thing is sometimes the smell of laundry soap or fragrance is somehow on fruit like peaches. Last year I brought them back with no issue but I would love to buy peaches and the thin skinned fruit there if it did not smell and hence tastes like eating laundry soap. So it is a nice shopping experience overall and using them now for my produce. Again, this is my first choice for shopping and go there several times a week. Glad they are doing a good job overall and they strive to improve I know. I don't aim to say anything mean but hope this is balanced and honest. I love Heinens. Thank you.

If I have to check myself out, I should get an employee discount because at this point I work here. Don't go to this location. The shelves are bare, the workers up front in the self check out are just standing around shooting the ish. There was one worker that was friendly. That's why they got an extra star.

She took me to the deli counter to speak to the person who makes the trays. Teresa told me that she would make the tray for me. Together, we picked out the veges I wanted for the tray and she walked over to the cashier so I could pay for them. Teresa took them to the back and had the tray ready within 30 mins. I am so happy that I found Teresa and cannot say enough about this level of customer service! This Giant Eagle is lucky to have her as an ambassador for their store! Thank you Teresa - you made me look good :) I wanted to complete the proper survey but my receipt didn't have a code.

Prices are usually slightly higher than other places, but they commonly have specials and sales. They are always open- if you need batteries on Christmas morning, Drug Mart is your place. (Although if I ever go on a holiday I always give the cashier a $20 bill because I feel guilty they are working.)

If you're looking for a shopping experience that takes you back to a simpler time, JR's Country Store in Bainbridge, Ohio is worth a visit. While exploring the area, we stopped into this Amish-run general store and immediately fell in love with its charm and personality. This isn't one of those big-box stores where everything feels the same. Instead, it's the kind of place where you can wander the aisles and discover something new around every corner. They carry a little bit of everything, from baking supplies and snacks to fresh produce, candies, Amish crafts, and homemade goods. One of the highlights of our visit was watching an Amish girl making fresh chocolate fudge. It's not every day you get to see treats being made right before your eyes, and it added to the store's authentic country feel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. We ended up taking home some beautiful fresh tomatoes, a homemade cheese ball, and some fresh-made pickles. Everything looked fresh and delicious, and we couldn't resist bringing a few goodies home. Outside, they even have a selection of T-Rex poly furniture for sale, which caught my attention as we were leaving. It's just another example of the variety of items you'll find here. What I loved most about JR's Country Store is that it feels like more than just a place to shop. It's an experience. It's the kind of store where you can slow down, browse, chat with friendly people, and appreciate the craftsmanship and quality that seem harder to find these days. If you're visiting Bainbridge or just passing through Amish country, make sure to stop in. The furniture is beautifully crafted but a little pricey for me. Plus I have no way to get it back to Florida lol! Once we're done eating we head to the bakery. This is one of my favorite spots at Miller's. You can find a variety of donuts, pies, cakes and other sweets. On this trip I purchased glazed donuts, peanut butter cookies, a cream horn, and two long John donuts. My favorite long John has chocolate icing and white cream filling. The sign is hard to see from the main road so I suggest using your GPS. But if you have never been to Miller's I highly recommend you check them out. But don't go too hungry lol.
