I loved this store. I came here every week for my grocery's. Today I went to ask someone for help…read moreand I was shrugged off and given a dirty look. I knew he heard me because we made eye contact. I'm pretty sure his name was Josh. I'm just disappointed that the service has grown to something as pitiful as this.

I have many good things to say about Heinens. I am now using them for the purchase of my produce,…read moreespecially the leafy ones as they are always so fresh. I was traveling to a store in Fairlawn until some of the produce I purchased there were old, rotten--avocados looked like they were unedible or frozen and then defrosted but that is the subject of another review of THEM. Continuing with the nice produce from Heinens I am very happy with it. IF anything is ever not to my satisfaction they gladly give me a refund without a hassle. The people are super friendly and helpful. If I ask for help with something on a higher shelf due to a shoulder injury they are most willing to stop what they are doing and help. The checkout cashiers are likewise very pleasant. It is nice to go in and have a short chatty conversation about weather, products, or whatever might come up. Once I broke something throwing it away outside and within a few seconds someone came up and told me not to worry about it and cleaned it up straight away---no shame expressed to me for this embarassing thing. When I am in the store people always ask me in the produce department if they can help me find something. Heinens also sends me emails with deals specifically to my history of purchases. That is so cool. These personal deals are in addition to weekly deals. I would purchase more of the prepared foods if they did not contain so much of the canola/soy. Now I have not checked them recently but it seemed everything, as good as it looked had these oils I would rather avoid. I would like some organic choices with REAL olive oil for those of us who eschew the aforementioned oils. I know they try and carry organic products that are packaged---the more the better to increase my choices. One other thing is sometimes the smell of laundry soap or fragrance is somehow on fruit like peaches. Last year I brought them back with no issue but I would love to buy peaches and the thin skinned fruit there if it did not smell and hence tastes like eating laundry soap. So it is a nice shopping experience overall and using them now for my produce. Again, this is my first choice for shopping and go there several times a week. Glad they are doing a good job overall and they strive to improve I know. I don't aim to say anything mean but hope this is balanced and honest. I love Heinens. Thank you.

It's surprisingly versatile because Miles has the best selection of veggies, fruits, cuts of meat, deli, bakery, prepared and for fun, fancy artisanal stuff you'll only find in Amish county or farmer's markets. The stuff is pretty pricey BUT the reduced bakery and produce section always has such amazing deals! I used to be an avid fan of Sushi Wednesdays but recently, they raised their prices for that... The quality and presentation of their cakes and bake goods are just...chef's kiss. I've purchased so many birthday cakes, retirement cakes and now baby shower cake coming up. I always tell my friends and coworkers, they have the best fried chicken in town. If you order it in person, it's the best item!!! I ordered catering from them recently and the experience was great! Stress free ordering for a large group and the food was delish! Even the fried chicken was still a bit crispy arriving on site. Everyone loved the food and I can't wait to order from them again! Tip: If ordering for food to be delivered, order it to arrive earlier. Our food arrived right before our meeting started even though we were given a window of delivery time. Not a big deal, but will cause a little less stress.

I bought a sweatshirt too big for my toddler and wanted to return it and since I was in Bainbridge, I figured I go to the "nice" location, but boy was a wrong. As soon as I walked into customer service, at 8:03pm mind you, I wad told they were closed. With a confused face I said, OH customer service closes at 8pm now? She said they did today, the last person just went home. I said, so how do I get my return or exchange processed? She said come back tomorrow or drive to Macedonia, they close at 9pm. I was so annoyed, angry and over it. These companies are so nonchalant about their shortcomings, yet so blatant about the lack of service they intend to provide. I don't even like Walmart, but they are thr only pla e that reliably carry Rockit apples and thr Texas Roadhouse dinner rolls. If I have to check myself out, I should get an employee discount because at this point I work here. Don't go to this location. The shelves are bare, the workers up front in the self check out are just standing around shooting the ish. There was one worker that was friendly. That's why they got an extra star.

In retrospect, getting a cart would have been a good idea. I really like ALDI in terms of selling European products. It always allows me to feel nostalgic and also expand my taste palette. Prices are budget-friendly. Although a die hard ALDI fan, this was my first visit to this particular ALDI location. The store is spacious, well lit, and very clean. The store was almost empty when I visited on Monday evening. Lines and self-checkout lines moved very quickly. I was in and out in about 20 minutes, which was grocery store efficiency win. I love that there's "quick meals" section by the entrance! If you need any other items you can't find, Marc's is in the same plaza. I found few negatives during store navigation: product organization and stock. Certain parts of the store such as fish and lunch meats were illogically organized and not in the manner other stores do their organization. It took me awhile to find smoked salmon. When I finally did, it came in very small packages. It was ideal for one person but wasn't what I expected. I was unable to find liverwurst, macarons, cream puffs, and a few other minor items. My final haul was the following: lobster dip (too watery), crab sticks (too sweet), pitas (always delish), smoked salmon (more salty than usual), and Rainier cherries (tasty). I also discovered few new-to-me items: Choco Changer sustainable chocolate, clover honey, mimosa bottles, rose cones ice cream, and boho hanging chair (in AOS). And really, is this even an AlDI review without shoutout to AOS aisle? It was very well stocked but had very few seasonal items (except a fan, which is super seasonal). I'd recommend this store for anyone looking for a quick shopping experience during the week.

They squeezed way too many registers in this tiny little area, and worst was the self checkout scanner guns have 3' cords and start near the floor. Completely useless. I checked three different ones before decided on one, oh wait.. it was broken. Looks like I'm not the only one who tried to pull them farther. Seriously, scanner could barely even reach the register, let alone your cart to scan. Had to pull cases of water completely up to register. What a disaster. Zero employees to help too. Spend the extra time and go to the Aldi in Bainbridge.
