Bruce Lee came here to grab some food and drinks since I was in the area. This location was a lot more easier to park and get to then the location in Pepper Pike. Staff here was very friendly and helpful. There was ample amount of parking and they had a little food truck out side the store as well. The store was easy to shop around and navigate. Great selection of snack bars and energy drinks. Even the hot food selection was pretty good too. I enjoyed it the staff is socially engaging with the customers. Easy access to the streets! Swung by here for fresh fish after hitting up the North Union Farmer's market yesterday since I heard they get many seafood items from Euclid fish company, which iykyk is a huge supplier on the northeast end of the freshest fish to many restaurants. If you want to see the full selection of fish, I'd recommend coming a couple hours after opening on a Saturday since they were still working on displaying the fish when we got there, but it is well worth the wait! The gentleman helping us out was incredibly knowledgeable and generous in sharing tips and will take the time to explain where the fish is sourced, its texture and taste when cooked, ideas for how to cook it, etc. He also mentioned that their salmon and rockfish are shipped directly from where they're caught in prime areas in Alaska. Prices for salmon are a bit high now due to the start of the season, but in a month or so (during peak season), prices should go down a bit. Got walleye since it's on sale right now, and it looked incredibly pink and fresh. Dude, I love Heinens. This is a fantastic grocery store. It is smallish and easy to navigate. There are tons of great selections of everything you might want and need. The store is always super clean. Customer service is kind and helpful. Nobody here seems to have a sense of urgency when it comes to the speed at the check out. The staff at the store are friendly and helpful, the store is well stocked and clean etc. but when it comes to the mere speed at the checkout you really want to pull your hair out! Love the Heinens in Shaker Heights. They have a friendly staff and bend over backwards to help with anything. It's such an easy shopping experience. I've gotten trays for parties that are great - we love the roasted vege tray. Their prepared food is very good. (Especially the garlic shrimp) Their wine selection is good. Absolute joke of you people to delete my review because this is my FIFTHA time trying to post it. This happened in early January and it stressed me out too much to comment right away. I wanted to cry at how MEAN this POS was to me for no reason. And screw Heinens and their elitist BS for even allowing this to happen. So glad Shaker Heights Police are being put to GREAT use. This cop started full on YELLING at me in the most sarcastic tone for taking my full shopping cart out to my car, yelling "they stay in the store" and kept saying "there's a sign inside there's a sign inside" in the bitchiest tone of voice when I'm very validly like what are you talking about. It's a freaking shopping cart, how else am I supposed to take 10+ bags to my car????????? I went back in in absolute shock at the way this human being talked to me, and sure enough there was a sign on the exit doors (that NOBODY I am sure in their busy shopping looks at because it's on the damn doors that move) saying "keep carts inside, use curbside service" when there was a no "service" around to even provide that??? Not a SINGLE person was around in an obvious way to show that such a service is provided. So I put an entire grocery trip on both arms struggling to take it out to my car and not a SINGLE fucking employee offered to help. Nor the POS cop doing nothing but sitting his ass in his truck chatting to a couple by the time I made it outside the second time. What garbage is that, screw you Heinens for employing terrible people to police your SHOPPING CARTS and speak to someone the way he spoke to me. This was a cute store we stopped in for some dinner supplies and drinks. Overall it was smallish but clean and bright. The produce looked excellent and the corn we bought was great at dinner. I also had a chance to look at the meat and beer sections where the selection looked pretty good for both. I would absolutely return if we need more supplies. read more

The worst in so many ways. Selection is minimal. Prices are 30-40% more than Giant Eagle. No sales ever. Very few options. Often out of core items. The crafty layout causes constant collisions with other shoppers and workers. Sub par bakery and deli - basically the bare minimum. Very few prepared foods. After all that checkout is a nightmare. Selection is limited and their website makes it difficult and time consuming to even find if they carry many items. Finding vegan dinners is extremely difficult. After placing an order I routinely get texts asking for substitutions for items listed. Their new delivery service charges $10, and much worse than the previous one, workers are untrained and don't have the equipment to deliver to the door anything greater than a small order. They seem limited to drop and leave, not helpful for apartments. read more

My parents shopped at Heinen's when our family first moved to the Shaker area during the late 1960s. Because I shop here I know many of the cashiers and other employees by name. The store is in my neighborhood. They are, on the whole, helpful, professional and pleasant. Heinen's on Chagrin, employs uniformed security. I am familiar with the store and have no need to be followed by guards while shopping. I know how to pick the items I want to purchase! As a child I was taught, by my parents to ignore this harassment. Not happening. If Heinen's Becky or Heinen's Harry persists, I will loudly declare, that following me will be dealt with, appropriately. It seems that after all of this tailing after me, they would know that I am not a thief. I suppose my well groomed, well dressed visage fits some type of profile, right? read more

This is probably the nicest grocery store I've ever been to. I was so impressed with how neatly everything was stocked. Customer service was excellent-- I was shopping around for about 20 minutes this morning, and three different employees asked if they could help me find something. They also carry a huge selection of local and organic produce. All that comes at a higher price of course, so just be prepared to spend more than you would at a bargain grocery. read more

Heinen's was new to me when I moved to Ohio last year. I was immediately impressed by its design and selection. This location is always clean and well-stocked. The prices are a bit more premium here, however, if you get a rewards card and shop relatively frequently they will begin to tailor your coupons (or rewards) toward items you actually buy, which I appreciate. I would never do my full shop here- especially not for staple items that I could find cheaper at Walmart. However, there are a lot of items I can only find here. Also notable is they always have really friendly staff and awesome customer service. I have had a couple issues with needing to return products, and they are always very prompt. read more

Wow, TERRIBLE customer service. My friend was in a regular line that was being held up by a customer who forgot something. The regular line's cashier apologized and told my friend, who had 16 items, to go to the next line, an empty express (12 or less) line. When my friend moved her things to the express line, that's line's cashier (Tonie, according to the receipt) literally raised her voice to my friend, yelled at her, and told her to apologize to the people who had just gotten behind her -- because she was over 12 items. That's right. My friend got straight-up yelled at by a cashier because she had done something ANOTHER EMPLOYEE STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO THEM TOLD THEM TO DO. Talk about lack of respect. I have shopped at Heinens for a very long time. The way I am being treated because Heinens charged my card twice is very bad business. I went into the store in University Heights on 3/1 to purchase groceries. The cashier continously told me to swipe my card because it was not going through and assured me that it was not taking my money. After the 3rd time I checked my online banking app and didn't see any charges. He then said their registers were offline and to try again. I swipe again. The cashier next to us stated her register was doing same thing and she shut down the computer and rebooted. The cashier then took me to customer service and she had me swipe twice. She then said do I have another card implying it was my card. I then stated it was not my card and more then one cashier is having the problem. She then told me to try credit instead of debit because they have a system that backs up credit when their debit is down. I then did that and it went through. However the next day one of the debits they tried went through as well over drafting my account and pulled money from savings. The store then said this is above them. The supervisor st main office in customer relations is rude and hung up on me today. Yesterday she said she saw the transactions however Heinens only has one payment and that they have a 3rd party company that deals with the credits and debits and that I needed to dispute with them to try and get my money back. She then stated on a recorded line that my back should of caught the double payments and not paid it. Today she said told me to try and get my money back on my own and when I asked for another supervisor she stated she is the supervisor and hung up. read more

This place has most everything you need for a grocery store. The food is fresh, and the people are friendly. They really support community allowing fundraisers, and supporting fundraisers in other ways. They are a little pricey, so it's not my number one place to shop, but they have a lot of good health products that makes it worth my while monthly. read more

Sad that this hometown favorite has implemented a bizarre policy that inconveniences customers. I grew up shopping at Heinen's on Chagrin and while on an extended visit to the area I stopped by for a couple of bags of groceries. I was literally chased by two employees to hault my exit with the shopping cart. "Ma'am carts are not allowed in the lot!" The employees state the policy was implemented to end "cart theft." How is that my problem!?! I am shocked that The Heinen's family would implement a policy that clearly inconveniences shoppers. I do not want anybody deciding how I spend my man minutes when shopping. I want the option of not having to wait in line for an employee to load my bags into my car. This is a great option for people with lots of time and bags or the disabled. Why the Heinen family would be too cheap to invest in cart corrals or quarter cart corrals is the biggest question. I was unable to solicit if this was an urban only policy and didn't check other locations for consistency. Jeff Heinen...ask Aldi! Who are you to tell me I have no right to go immediately to my car and load my own groceries making your employees be "the cart police." read more

The staff at this store seems fine and they are very helpful, if you can find them. However, the management of the store leaves a great deal to be dissatisfied about. Being closed on Holidays other than Christmas, Easter, New Year's Day is a gross inconvenience for those of us who live in the neighborhood and rely on this location for our grocery needs. Also, of late I have notice a decrease in the quality of their produce and a thinning of the inventory offerings of some other items, including eggs and some dairy products. Fresh produce, fresh meat, fresh seafood, great wine and beer selection, etc., etc., etc. It's small, but that's just a by-product of the shopping center in which it's located. Heinen's has amazing customer service and the employees always seem happy. Love their fresh produce and meats. I can always find what I need and quality is usually great. Olive bar and cheese section is fabulous. The donuts from their fresh bakery are delicious. I'm not a huge fan of their fresh bread, but do love their pretzel buns, bakery, pies, and cakes. I'm also a big fan of their unique seasonal specials. For example, they have New Mexico hatch chilis and specialty chili theme items in the fall. There is a great apple fest in the fall with varieties of local apples. They also have beautiful quality florals, seasonal greenery, and a good wine/beer selection. read more

It took me five years of driving past Heinen's in Middleburg Heights before I finally gave in and I wish it hadn't taken this long. Everyone was super nice, and although the meat prices were a bit high, they had some great sales going on in other departments so it pretty much balanced out. I LOVE the "no carts in the parking lot" policy! The man who helped me load my groceries was friendly despite the nasty freezing rain. Sushi lovers beware!! Both times I have purchased Sushi on Half Price Sushi Wednesday, I have been sorely disappointed! There is barely any sushi in the roll and is filled with dried rice. Thank goodness I didn't purchase at full price. Heinen's overall quality continues to be mediocre. I'm not a grocery store loyalist in any way. When you compare your standard chain grocery store, 90% of the products are the same no matter where you shop (Dave's, Heinen's, Giant Eagle). I'll shop where it's most convenient and depending on where I am while running errands, it changes from week to week. I do find myself in this particular Heinen's a fair amount of the time and imo this Heinen's is the most expensive of the bunch (hence the two star rating). Product-wise, there's nothing here besides the Two Brother's brand that I can't find anywhere else. As a chain, I like Heinen's. But if you're going to go to one, choose one of the others--you'll probably save yourself some money. read more

This grocery has nice fresh, hot soup selections daily, a fresh and plentiful salad bar, a very nice selection of fresh meats, a small, but very nice fresh fish and specialty cut meat, chicken and other nifty prepackaged, ready-to-pop-in-the-oven selections area, lovely produce and a small, but adequate bakery. I have been delighted with the service, and products at the Shaker Heights Heinen's. It has been friendly and employees will go out of their way to help locate items, find extras that are in stock and fulfill special orders. Their artisan bread can be sliced to whatever thickness one prefers. Fresh nuts, produce, fish are all excellent. I have been very pleased with the store's Two Brothers Brand. heinens might have higher prices but you get what you pay for!! i'm a chef and this is the only place i would consider buying meat the fresh heinens brand italian sausage is the best in the city!!! the bakery products are top shelf good enough to cater with. ( and i have in a pinch ) i have never had a complaint. the fresh seafood is always fresh along with the produce. whatever you want someone will go out of their way to help you with your requests . including the special orders from the bakery!!! it is the only store i will shop in. read more
