They spent a good amount of time prepping, taping, and covering windows to make sure the job was done neatly. They also sanded peeling/chipped paint and patched holes in the stucco. They were respectful of our property and also our neighbors' property that they needed to access to paint the side of our house. Peter is very knowledgeable about paint brands, colors, and finishes. He had helpful recommendations for things we hadn't even considered, like painting the porch floor a lighter color to contrast the darker walls so it didn't feel like a dark cave and selecting a flat finish to avoid highlighting places where the stucco was patched. We hadn't picked all the paint colors before the job started and Peter stopped by on his day off on the weekend to share samples of paint colors that he obtained for us from the store. We really wanted a bright color for our door and even though it required many coats, Peter was willing to do the extra work to make the bright yellow look good. Peter was heavily involved in both overseeing his team and in doing a lot of the work himself. Every morning he met with his crew and gave very detailed instructions on exactly how he wanted everything done. He was on site for the entire job making sure everything was done properly. When they finished the work they did a good job cleaning up. Peter and the team were extremely responsible, honest, and very talented. The cost was reasonable considering the high quality of the work and craftsmanship. We were so impressed by the Final Coat Painting team that we highly recommend them to friends and would hire them again for future jobs!

Before a single drop of paint touched the walls, they spent a significant amount of time covering every single inch of my home. They used plastic and drop cloths to protect all the furniture and floors in every area. They even went the extra mile by moving big, heavy cabinets away from the walls so they could paint behind them--they didn't cut any corners! They also did an amazing job on my two decks and patio deck. On the first day, they used a power washer to clean everything thoroughly, and then they sanded down all the wood on the decks to make sure the surface was perfect. They were so careful to cover everything nearby so the paint and stains didn't get anywhere they weren't supposed to. They took the time to fix all the holes and cracks in the walls first, ensuring a perfectly smooth surface. The quality of the paint is excellent, and I was shocked at how fast they worked. They managed to finish the entire house and the decks in just 7 or 8 days. They are incredibly efficient without sacrificing any quality. Highlights: Incredible protection for floors, furniture, and outdoor areas. Expert drywall and crack repair before painting. Full deck restoration (power washing, sanding, and staining). He replied that he was "fully insured". I said that I needed to ask that because there are a number of companies that are doing painting work with worker's that aren't covered, creating a liability for homeowners. Jose left after looking at my house and I decided to go online to the CA State Contractor's License Board to check Samayoa's license status. This company is licensed for Painting and Decorating work, but.....has NO WORKER'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE. He has never carried this having stated an exemption because he has no employees. So.. I sent Jose and email asking him about this, as he did not say he does his painting solo. In fact, during our conversation, he had an opportunity to tell me if he works alone, but he did not. Instead of explaining any potential miscommunication during our conversation at my house, Jose just irritably said, "You can get someone else" and hung up. So...make sure that you verify a company does in fact have active worker's comp if they use anyone and if they don't have employees, make sure that they clearly state this and make sure no one else shows up. I'm just really disappointed in how Jose about this as he was dishonest with me. You can clearly see from reading other reviews that Jose does in fact have other people working with him. Too bad.

Giulio- who I assume is the owner, is easily 10 years older than my mom, who lives in the assisted living up the street. My mom can't be bothered to go to the chair yoga we're paying for, but Giulio went to work. He's not totally mobile, but he knows his s#!t. Whenever I come in, he or whoever else is behind the counter is happy to chat through my issue and suggest something. It's not a Home Depot- so they may not have what you're looking for every time- but they have a lot of things, and it makes me happy to know my money is staying local. Also, side story: One day during the summer, it's like 90, and I am behind a contractor who's getting a bunch of stuff - lumber, rocks...I don't know- but he's paying for it, and he grabs some water bottles for him and his crew and puts them on the counter. Giulio totals him up and says a number; the guy says, "Oh, don't forget these waters". Giulio says, "The town where I come from in Italy has the best water in the world, and it flows right off the mountain. If my father knew I was charging people for water, he'd come back from the dead and strike me down. Those are free." C'mon. How can you not go here first?

We purchased a home that needed renovations from removing walls to open it up, remodeling the kitchen and bathrooms, all new electrical and plumbing, etc.. It was a big job! After interviewing several different companies and getting quotes we picked JR Home Remodeling. They won use over with their initial introduction. They are courteous, listen to what you have to say, give clear responses and clarifications to my questions and they also ask their own questions. I felt comfortable and secure in that our remodel would get done. They are a full service company that doesn't have to higher out. Their team can do it all! Their pricing is far and should something pop up they give you options. The job was completed on time and their work was well done. If something didn't meet my expectations it was fixed right away. Jackson is a very professional and respectful person. We were having a difficult time finding the right company and we just felt that we were almost at our last but Jackson was very diligent and understanding. He came by very quick and even shared a lot of his knowledge. He was very very reasonable but also very upfront. Great customer service. When my fiancee and I were moving, salvation army was supposed to do a pickup but flaked out last minute. We were left with the last minute task of removing junk that would have otherwise cost $500. Jr came to our rescue at a reasonable price. As a result, we weren't penalized. read more

His crew reinforced the structure before drywall went up, and we were able to witness every step. They sanded the drywall perfectly smooth before painting, with edges blending flawlessly. Attention to detail was outstanding--even the power outlet screws are aligned uniformly in the same direction! Beyond the main scope, he quickly fixed several small unrelated issues around the house (like a few doors that wouldn't shut properly, some power outlets/breakers, and a sagging fence) without any extra fuss or added costs. It was a pleasure working with Victor (Veaceslav) and his team. They renovated the lower floor of…read moreour house, and even though the project was only about 1,000 sq ft, it involved some pretty major plumbing, mechanical, electrical and structural upgrades. Along the way, we found out our old sewer system did not pass inspection, so Victor also helped coordinate a full main sewer line replacement. That turned into a complicated job because of the existing and new underground pipes and structures, but he handled it well and kept things moving. The team also did a great job dealing with the different Daly City inspections. I especially appreciated that Victor was not afraid to ask questions or challenge comments when something seemed unclear, while still keeping the project on track and looking out for the owner's perspective. Throughout the construction, the crew was patient, reliable, and punctual. We could hear our garage door open at 8 a.m. every morning and knew they were there and ready to work! Thank you again!

At the time, I was 32 weeks pregnant and hoping to have the remodel completed before our baby arrived. Azeen came over, listened carefully to our needs, and patiently discussed all the details with us. Our project was a like-for-like bathroom remodel, and Calibuilder's quote was competitive compared to other companies we considered. Knowing that our neighbors also had a great experience gave us confidence in choosing them. Throughout the project, we had a group chat with Azeen, where we documented all the finer details to ensure nothing was missed. This was incredibly helpful in keeping everyone aligned as the project progressed. Azeen also recommended a few stores for finishes and tiles--we went with Porcelanosa and are very happy with the final result. She prioritized our project, which we really appreciated given the baby could arrive any day. While there were a few things that initially didn't turn out the way we had hoped, calibuilder was responsive and came back to address and fix them. If you're particular about the small details, like we are, we recommend clearly communicating them upfront and documenting everything. Also, be sure to discuss any potential additional costs for smaller tasks that may not be included in the original quote to avoid surprises later. Overall, we're very satisfied with how our bathroom turned out.

This turned out to be a very detailed and complicated project with many moving parts. We ripped out the entire old bathroom including walls, ceiling, the floor, and redid everything from scratch. We also repositioned the bathtub, vanity, and redid the entire plumbing system. The project manager, Azeen was very responsive, involved and caring. Along the way, Azeen was always available to answer any of our project/progress related questions, to address our concerns, and to discuss next steps. Azeen jumped at resolving any issues, and she also helped with finished product selection, provided her advice and guidance on design. It was a pleasure to work with her. Despite some bumps, and challenges, which alway come up with any construction project, overall we are very happy that we've selected CaliBuilder for this project and we are fully satisfied with our new beautiful bathroom. One note - we've realized that the project success does not only depend on the professional and detail-oriented project manager but also on the skill and attention to detail of the workmen. Initially we had someone who did not seem to be as focused and often produced results below expectation, but then the new crew was amazing! We highly recommend this team!
