I needed an electrician to install a Level 2 EV charger in my garage. I choose JP because he is licensed and had the best price of all the electricians I reached out to on Yelp. In the initial consultation, he said that my electrical panel did not have available circuit breaker spaces for the EV charger, since the top two slots were reserved for solar/pv in California. He said could remove/combine some AFCI breakers to make space. I did a bit of research and found out that I could keep the existing AFCI breakers and instead use a 50/15 quad breaker, which I told him about. He provided me recommendations on reliable, excellent EV chargers. In my case, it was best to go hard wired with GFCI built in, since the 50/15 circuit breaker does not come in GFCI variant, and in California, 240V outlets in garages need to be GFCI protected per electrical code, but there is no such thing as NEMA 14/50 GFCI outlet. I bought the circuit breaker and the Grizzle E level 2 charger off of Amazon. It took about 2 weeks to arrive, and when it came, JP was able to come a couple of days later. The install took about 2 hours, and when it was done, I took a look at the install and it looked to be in excellent working order. I don't have an EV car to test with, since I'm only doing the installation as part of rebate program, but he did recommend that I should test it with a car within 1 year since there's a 1 year warranty on the install. This shows his integrity and desire to perform quality work. The power light was blue, the hole penetration he made through the stucco wall for the conduit was sealed with what looks like white putty, to keep out moisture/bugs/ect. He cleaned up after himself. JP is knowledgeable, timely, well-manned, and provides quality work at the most competitive prices. I highly recommend JP for your electrical needs. read more
