Good food, big portions, nice ambience, quick and good service, there ain't anything not to love.

The salmon plate was really good and so were the salad and chicken bowls. It was very clean and modern looking. It was pretty calm overall. The service was okay overall, they were kind of slow with getting our order and got kind of confused but overall it was really nice! There are better joy teriyaki locations that seem more professional. the dude running the counter was kind of rude. The food came out kind of slow but that's understandable.

Not a bad deal. My husband and I came here for lunch during the freezing rain storm a couple days ago. Practically everything in the area was closed because of the 1/2" of ice that coated the streets. We were surprised to see that Joy Teriyaki was open, so we pulled in. I ordered their short ribs. My husband got the chicken teriyaki. Both were good! Nice flavor and grill marks on the chicken. The short ribs were tender and the teriyaki and chili sauce on the side complimented the meal well. They serve a very simple salad with poppyseed dressing with their entrées. 2 scoops of white rice as well. I typically take pictures of all the food ordered, but I was STARVING so only the hubby's meal got photographed. My only real gripe was the cleanliness of the dining area. The tables were a bit sticky and the pretty lanterns hanging from the ceiling could use a dusting. The staff were friendly and they did a good job juggling Door Dash orders as well as taking care of customers dining in. Thanks for being open on such an icy day!

Outstanding fast Chinese spot! For it being on the edge of a little shopping area it's one of the best Teriyaki spots I've ever eaten at. The cashier is a Latina woman and she makes me feel like a little kid all over again when I order. I've never had an order wrong, nor has any food tasted amiss (granted I've only had their chicken and katsu). I will make sure to become a regular at this spot, as it is worth every penny!

I've had so much bad teriyaki in my life I almost didn't want to give this place a try. I was proven wrong. The atmosphere is really nice, there is plenty more options other than teriyaki things, and the food isn't too sweet or too salty. The chicken wasn't abused, it was nice and tender and decedent. The sauce wasn't too sweet. The rice was a perfect texture.

Teriyaki chicken bowl and miso soup

Wanted something cheap and tasty for lunch, and my sister recommended Joy. I was skeptical, but ended up being pleasantly surprised. She got a cup of miso soup and the chicken teriyaki bowl, we split an order of gyoza, and I had the spicy chicken bowl. All the food was ready very fast, and came out hot and fresh. The gyoza was fried perfectly, and the bowls were very large servings. I liked that there was extra teriyaki and spicy sauce on every table. It felt a little dirty inside, like the tables and chairs could all used to be wiped down. But besides that it was an enjoyable lunch.

Chicken teriyaki ft. A public hair

I was so excited to try the food and it smelled sooooo good . Half way through my meal I noticed a hair blended in with the sauce . I was just going to brush it off but then when I pulled it out It looked just like a pubic hair . My husband and I agreed. So I threw the whole thing a way. It was my first time and my last time .

It's not just teriyaki sauce it's mixed with soy sauce so for those of us with allergy's ask what's in this and you straight out say only this one kind of teriyaki sauce then I try it on my food and instantly know it's not just teriyaki sauce so now my stomach will hurt tonight so be aware anyone else if you have allergies Other than that I love this place and the food just can't trust the sauce on the table but what comes out of the back does have it the real straight sauce.

Staff was rude, food was awful. Why would I go here when there are so many better Chinese/Japanese choices in the area?

Only complaint was that the restaurant interior really needs a deep cleaning. Teriyaki was great though. Great portions for the price.

For many years I have utilized the truck stops in Troutdale and always cast a wary eye toward this…read moreChinese place tucked in the corner. But it was usually too early to too late, or I was in too big a hurry. On this opportune visit it was lunch time and finally I had a chance to finally try Yu's Garden. The lunch menu was both varied and fairly priced. I tried the General Tsao's lunch with hot and sour soup. There was a lady handling the serving duties and she was excellent handling the few of us who were seated in the dining area. I assume someone else handled the lounge as several people entered that as I ate lunch. The soup was quite good, not too peppery but loads of flavor. The General Tsao was a very good representation of American Chinese food. The flavors really popped and there was quite enough to fill up even me. All in all, I really enjoyed Yu's even though it is decidedly in need of an interior upgrade. Skip the truck stop food and give Yu's Garden a try.

I was a little put off from the second we walked in; no employee present for several minutes, no one sitting down, and sketchy people going to the lounge. The lighting was dark, surfaces dirty, and I would not have felt comfortable dining in with my family. The food itself was okay...whereas I thought it was average and would entertain getting takeout again, the rest of them unanimously gave it a 'thumbs-down'. Probably won't be back.

Because I will be back. We started off strong with a table full of appetizers. It was one of those "everyone grab something" moments, and listen... I had been up since 6am, starving, and completely forgot to take pictures until it was basically too late. But trust me, that alone should tell you how good it was. Crab puffs? Gone. Creamy, crispy perfection. Fried spring rolls? Devoured without hesitation. But that salt and pepper shrimp?? LISTEN. It tasted like somebody's grandma was in the back cooking with love. I could've eaten that as my full meal 10 times over and still asked for more. Then came the angel wings... OMG. At this point I was already full, borderline mad about it, because I wanted to keep eating. And I'm not usually a leftovers person....but these? Plus that one last shrimp sitting there? Oh no... they came home with me. And the best part? EVERYONE loved their food. No misses at the table. If you're debating, don't. Just go. And go hungry.

I found that I ate so much and I didn't realize it. We ordered Pad Ka Pao, Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Ginger Halibut, Fried Chicken Wings, Basil Fried Rice and Thai Iced Tea. Everything was so delicious and the flavors of each dish were exquisite. You can tell the Chef is very experienced with how savory the taste is in each dish. Overall, the food was amazing. The service was friendly and great. There was only one staff member who was doing everything in the front and it was really busy, yet she was able to attend to everyone needs. Our most recent curry had only about five pieces of chicken, which was surprising. I'm not sure if this is because we ordered it to-go, but either way, it didn't feel like the same value we've experienced in the past. For now, we're going to pause on returning and try some other spots in the neighborhood instead. Hopefully this is just a temporary hiccup, because the flavors are still there
