When a new one opens up we rush to try it, only to be disappointed with the service, the food or the atmosphere. We finally found one! It is a warm, comfy, old style neighborhood place that just happens to serve all of our favorites from the past. You can still get a great selection of combo plates (I like #6) and the tea is served hot and fresh with real tea leaves at your table. The service is very welcoming, quick and comes with a smile. Give yourselves a treat and try Mr. Chen's. They are at the North end of the Albertsons lot.

HA - it turned out to really be "onions" and noodles. The rest of the combination wasn't great tasting either. They lost a customer that gets lots of take-out because I won't ever return. Course they have poker machines so that is where they'll make money and not care about inedible food.

As an asia foodie, I highly recommend this place. Good portions for the price and I totally enjoyed every dish I ordered well except for the siomai, they were a little soggy for my liking but other than that they were all good. I will definitely try other dishes next time I'm in the area.

First out came a plate with pork sliced, shrimp, two huge spring rolls that were filled with god only knows what. They were not very tasty. Then pork fried rice and Szechuan beef, which were both above average. A huge plate of sweet and sour chicken which was excellent, all white meat, was delivered, last but least was some sort of shrimp in a gravy, that I really couldn't identify, but the taste wasn't awful. All In all we got lots of average food for very little money. We hadn't been in this place in 25 or more years, no changes, looked the same. Waitress was efficient, but more interested in her phone than the only two customers in the place. Probably will be 25 more years before we go back.

We do not have decent Chinese food where I live so this was such a great meal. All the food we had. I will say that some dishes can be hit or miss. For example I love their fried rice, but sometimes it has a slightly off flavor. Like the grill needs to be cleaned? I wouldn't expect too much on the interior, I always order takeout. It has a slight dingy appearance, and sometimes smells strongly of cleaning liquids. (While I appreciate the evidence of a clean kitchen/ restaurant, it can be a bit overwhelming) They also have a free soup to have while you wait for your order- while on the plainer side, I still appreciate the offer. While my experiences at Ichi haven't always been perfect, when they're good, they are good!

The people taking my order was very nice and friendly though and I appreciated that. I ordered 2 combo meals; one with chicken and beef and the other with chicken and short ribs. We also got a kids meal with noodles and the noodles were pretty good. The salad dressing for the salad was very bland. If I ever crave noodles, I'd stop by for some yakisoba.

Because I will be back. We started off strong with a table full of appetizers. It was one of those "everyone grab something" moments, and listen... I had been up since 6am, starving, and completely forgot to take pictures until it was basically too late. But trust me, that alone should tell you how good it was. Crab puffs? Gone. Creamy, crispy perfection. Fried spring rolls? Devoured without hesitation. But that salt and pepper shrimp?? LISTEN. It tasted like somebody's grandma was in the back cooking with love. I could've eaten that as my full meal 10 times over and still asked for more. Then came the angel wings... OMG. At this point I was already full, borderline mad about it, because I wanted to keep eating. And I'm not usually a leftovers person....but these? Plus that one last shrimp sitting there? Oh no... they came home with me. And the best part? EVERYONE loved their food. No misses at the table. If you're debating, don't. Just go. And go hungry.

However, I was blown away at this place. Located in a food truck area, there are quite a few other spots nearby to grab a boba drink or snack with friends, but minimal seating. When I went, I just got the food for to-go and ate it at home! The woman working at the cashier was so sweet and patient with us. We ordered a shrimp pad kee mao and a shrimp pad thai. They took 15 minutes to be ready and smelled incredible on the ride home. While it may not look like a lot in the picture, trust me, it is. The portions are so generous and you are sure to get your money's worth. The noodles were mouth-watering. They were so saucy and flavorful, and the perfect chewy texture. This spot does not skimp out on the shrimp too and the vegetables are cooked to the perfect softness. Absolutely an amazing spot and I still think about it a lot haha.
