Review update since it's been over a year -- I still love Wok In! We come here often and I think I have tried most of the menu at this point. I love all their food, in particular the fried shrimp and egg fried rice. We had honey walnut shrimp today which is amazing. I've never had anything I didn't like here. What keeps us coming back though is the whole experience. The staff is genuinely warm and friendly, the kind of place where you feel like a regular even on your second or third visit. My wife and I finally tried Wok In - in downtown Gresham after walking by it a few times and always ending up somewhere else. This time, we decided to go in--and we're really glad we did. The food was excellent, and the service stood out even more. The person running the restaurant was incredibly friendly, fun to talk to, and genuinely helpful. Honestly, the service alone would bring us back. The menu has everything you'd want from a Chinese restaurant--lots of variety and plenty of options. We decided to try the combination plates (which are listed toward the back of the menu), and that was the right call for us since we like to share family-style without ordering oversized portions. My wife ordered the combo with sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, and teriyaki chicken. I went with Szechuan beef, General Tso's chicken, and fried rice. We also added a large order of egg rolls, which were clearly made fresh in-house. Everything tasted great, and the portions were generous--even the combination plates were more than enough. Great food. We arrived on an overcast Saturday for a birthday based on reviews and we we're disappointed. Service was helpful and our food came out quickly. My date had the combo #1 and I and birthday person the combo #2s. The orange chicken was tangy and sweet with crisp coated chicken. The teriyaki chicken was tender and great. We delayed trying this place for a long time because we loved the previous spot so much. We eventually gave it a shot and were generally glad we did. The decor is virtually unchanged from the previous tenant, giving us that remember them a feeling that it's haunted by the ghost of Sunny Han's. The staff was friendly and we received prompt service. We got broccoli beef, orange chicken, and chicken low mein. Compared to other Chinese-style restaurants, the food was good but not amazing, and was pretty reasonably priced. Time to update my review. We are still eating here frequently because we love the food! Yesterday we tried something new: Mushroom chicken! It had a lot of white meat chicken with mushrooms, carrots, celery & water chestnuts in a light clear sauce. It was very good! I wasn't expecting much, and what I got was shockingly good! I walked in here expecting typical steam bin Chinese mall food court food, but how wrong I was! The menu is still a bit limited (I hope it expands!), so I tried Kung Pau chicken, not the most auspicious choice. Honestly, I was expecting something made to gringo tastes, too sweet, no heat. What I got seemed almost IDENTICAL to what I would get back at the original China Café on Bellaire in Houston in Asian Town (think menu mostly in Chinese, clientele mostly from China and Taiwan). It was perfectly spicy, not melt your face off with more Szechuan peppers than chicken, but just nicely hot enough to make you sweat a bit by the time you are done. All the flavors were perfect... ginger, garlic, peppers... and just the right amount of peanuts! So happy with this surprise experience and will be back! read more

Decided to order from here through Doordash. What I liked is that the dishes come with a side of rice or you can pay to get fried rice. I ended up ordering General Tso's Chicken with fried rice. It was actually pretty good, sometimes with fried stuff restaurants will over fry and the chicken will be tough as hell but there was none of that here. Fried rice was ok, I mean it's fried rice. One thing I would have to knock them on and it's really something small. They do offer combo meals which is awesome because it gives you a variety of food instead of one item and rice. However their combos are already set with what they come with and I do wish there was an option to pick the items in the combo, like two protein and fried rice type. This is a small issue cause I would be happy with ordering the single item but a combo where I'd get to choose would be a little better. Overall, great place and so far one of the top Chinese joints I've tried. read more

The other day, I had lunch there with my partner. We were curious if much was different since it changed ownership from Sunny Hans. We were graciously welcomed by the proprietors and found they had a complete menu. We ordered the Tofu and Vegetables and were not disappointed. The Tofu was cooked perfectly (not rubbery) and tasted great. How often is that said? The vegetables were tender, but not soggy. As the portions are generous, I took it home and ate it the following day. and it was just as delicious. My partner had a cup of hot n sour soup, and said it was just right. They offered us free servings of something called "snow ice", not quite ice cream, but delicious nonetheless. The entire time the proprietors were graciously and service was quick. My daughter and I stopped by for lunch on a weekday. I'm glad to have them in the neighborhood, and am optimistic that they may be able to iterate and improve. I'll update my review as that is possible. On the plus side, I liked their electronic ordering point of sale system, and the interior is identical to the old Sunny Han's, which is to day it's comfortable with plenty of space to sit down for a casual meal. The menu itself is fairly limited. Most everything is fried. Many of the choices were breaded proteins. We had the Orange Chicken and Salt & Pepper Tofu -- both of which were OK, but not great. The Orange Chicken was quite sweet, with not enough sour. The Salt & Pepper Tofu had good texture, but the seasoning was much too salty compared to what I've experienced elsewhere. Portion sizes were large. We had leftovers. I hope that they can continue iterating on the menu, and I'll give it another shot. I am glad to see that space on Main Street continue as a fast-casual restaurant option. read more

I walked in yesterday to pick up a to go order and everything was very clean and the ambiance was nice too, it would have been nice to have dined in. The gentleman at the front counter was very friendly and smiled and let me know my food was ready to go. I only ordered the crab puffs to go because, I wanted crab puffs and wooowwweee these were so good!!! Best crab puffs I've had from memory, generously stuffed and great flavor! The food here is terrible. It's a far cry from Sunny Hauns. The Spring Rolls are doughy and soaked in grease. They wilt and drip when you pick them up. The noodles are thin, dry, and taste weird like somebody accidentally spilled their perfume on them. So gross. And the orange chicken just had a weird flavor to it. What we did manage to eat ended up giving us stomach aches. You're better off just getting some Chinese food at Safeway. Seriously. EDIT: This edit is in response to the owner Gordon C. Oh, we ordered it from you. You took over the building from Sunny Hauns, right? Unfortunately the receipt went in the garbage with most of the food. Today I ordered the honey walnut shrimp and it was delicious. The shrimp are HUGE and perfectly prepared.
