Cold food. Very few seats. Food not very good. I think they are only serving food to keep the bar open and the video poker machines

Since we had our dog with us, we ordered everything to go and enjoyed it back at our hotel just down the street. Just a heads up if you're planning the same, there wasn't any outdoor dining available. Being from the SF Bay Area, one of the first things we looked for was Har Gow and Siu Mai, but they weren't labeled the way we're used to. After asking, we found out the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings are their Har Gow, and the Shrimp Siu Mai contains pork, which was exactly what we were looking for. We ordered two of each. We also ordered two Beef Chow Fun, Combination Fried Rice, Eggplant with Minced Pork, Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs, and three pear sodas. The dim sum absolutely hit the spot. The Har Gow and Siu Mai were well seasoned, nicely prepared, and exactly what we had been craving. The Beef Chow Fun was another winner. We were glad we ordered two because we found ourselves reaching for it more than the fried rice. The Eggplant with Minced Pork was also delicious. The eggplant was cooked perfectly -- tender without becoming mushy -- and the seasoning was right on point. I'm also glad we changed our order from the House Special Spare Ribs to the Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs. Unlike many versions, these weren't battered and fried, so the pork maintained a great texture while still being coated in a flavorful sweet and sour sauce. One unexpected favorite was the pear soda. It's made with Asian pear, so the flavor is much lighter and more refreshing than the sweeter pear sodas we're used to. The only hiccup? They're bottled with a traditional cap, and since we were staying in a hotel, we quickly realized we didn't have a bottle opener. Let's just say we got a little creative. One thing I really appreciated was that the staff noticed our large takeout order and packed it thoughtfully. They included six extra takeout containers, plenty of forks, chopsticks, and napkins, which ended up being incredibly helpful since we were eating in a hotel room with no paper plates or utensils. It's a small gesture, but one that definitely didn't go unnoticed. Overall, we were really happy with our meal. This place lived up to being on my bookmark list for over a year, and I'd happily come back the next time we're staying in downtown Portland.

The service was good and the staff was attentive during our visit. Here is a breakdown of what we ordered: Hand-Ripped Youpoo Noodle: The absolute star of the meal. The wide, hand-ripped noodles had the perfect chewy texture you look for. They were tossed in a deeply savory, slightly spicy chili oil sauce and topped with a generous amount of perfectly seasoned minced beef and fresh bok choy. It was incredibly satisfying and a must-order. Popcorn Chicken: This was a bit of a letdown. While it looked golden brown and came with a sweet chili dipping sauce, it was not special at all and lacked any unique flavor or punch compared to the other dishes. Spicy Chili Oil Wontons: These were packed with flavor! The wonton wrappers were delicate, and the filling was juicy. They were swimming in a robust, aromatic chili oil that had a nice kick and a touch of vinegar sharpness. Why 4 stars instead of 5? While the noodles and wontons were excellent and the service was good, the atmosphere was a bit uncomfortable. The restaurant was completely empty when we went, but it was super cold inside because the window was wide open. Between the chilly draft and the fairly generic popcorn chicken, it misses out on a full 5 stars.

We stopped in for lunch and were impressed by how quickly everything arrived. The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted fresh, and every dish was full of flavor. The walnut shrimp was outstanding. The shrimp were perfectly cooked with a light, crispy coating and covered in a creamy sauce that wasn't overly sweet. The candied walnuts added the perfect crunch, making every bite rich and satisfying without being overwhelming. I also ordered the lamb, and it was the highlight of the meal. The lamb was tender, juicy, and beautifully seasoned, cooked with red onions that added sweetness and complemented the savory flavors perfectly. It's not every day you find a restaurant serving lamb this well, and I would happily order it again. We started with the hot and sour soup, which was comforting and packed with flavor. It had just the right balance of tanginess and spice, with plenty of ingredients in every spoonful. The steamed rice was cooked perfectly and paired well with both entrées. Everything arrived hot and fresh, and the meal never felt rushed despite how quickly it came out of the kitchen. One of the best parts of our visit was the value. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, making this a fantastic place for lunch or dinner without spending a fortune. After looking through the menu, we realized there are so many other dishes we'd love to try. That's always a great sign--you leave already planning your next visit. We'll definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu. Very good size of the dinng tables, simply and clean, simple decoration. If you're craving flavorful Chinese food with generous portions, quick service, and affordable prices, I highly recommend giving this place a try. We left full, happy, and excited for our next visit.

The portion…read moresizes are generous and the service was quick, but the flavors were a bit of a mixed bag for a 3-star visit. Here is how the dishes fared: - Mapo Tofu: The sauce had a decent kick and nice chili oil sheen, but it was leaning a bit too heavy on starch and salt without much of that authentic, mouth-numbing Sichuan peppercorn depth (ma). The tofu texture was nice and soft, but overall the flavor profile felt a little flattened. - Crispy Spicy Chicken / Chongqing Chicken: Visually great and seasoned well with chili flakes and sesame seeds, but the chicken pieces were fried a bit too long, leaving them somewhat dry on the inside. A lighter batter and a punchier garlic/chili aromatic oil would make a world of difference here. Overall, it's an okay neighborhood option if you're craving a quick, filling meal, but it lacks the bold, vibrant spices you'd hope for from this style of cuisine.
