My childhood Chinese restaurant. Dinner every so often would consistent of my dad calling in and making the order and my mom picking it up on her way home. They always have the food ready asap. The 10 ingredient chow mein is always the best, always taste the exact same, and always hits. The orange chicken is perfect. We had the bbq pork appetizer this time which was yummy. We love Wan Lung. My wife has been coming here since she was a kid and now our family goes. The staff are wonderful and the food is excellent. We especially like the Mongolian Beef platter that has a smoky flavour too it. Of course the General Tso's is good and the perfect level of crisp. The mu shu pork is always delicious and fun. The string beens, egg drop soup, etc are all delicious. You can tell they're popular because there are always lots of busy folks making meals, serving, etc. read more

We have occasionally eaten here many times over the years. We live nearby, so it's always been convenient and was consistently good "American" Chinese fare. After our last visit, I fear things have changed. The place still looks the same; clean and orderly but no art, no shrines, no decor whatsoever. Only the sight of busy cooks banging sizzling woks in the open kitchen and the smells of the dishes give the cuisine away. As we entered, everything looked as it always has. We were a bit surprised at the emptiness of the dining area. Early evenings are normally bustling with dine-in customers, and the phone constantly ringing for take-out. Besides us, there was only one other table occupied. The menu looked the same, but when we ordered some old time family favorites, they each were disappointing. Celery dominated the veggie dish, (Buddhist Delight) with no detectable asian spices and scant traces of the other veggies promised. The cashew chicken was more skin than meat, and minimal cashews. I don't know for certain, but I suspect the place has changed ownership, or management or both. If that's the case, it's a shame because the place really was a neighborhood gem for many years. We will likely give it another shot, but with so many fantastic Asian restaurants on the SE side, we won't be back for a spell. read more

We just moved to the area and have been checking out the local eateries. Wan Lung did not disappoint! The service was quick and friendly, the prices are extremely reasonable (especially for the amount of food), and the food was exactly what I was looking for. We did order our meal to go so I cannot comment on how the service is but the hostess was really nice. Overall, food was just ok and they do give you a lot of food. I thought the General Tso Chicken flavor was a little different than what I'm used to. Chow Mein and Fried Rice were about what you'd except them to be. It is nice that they do offer combination meals since it's more wallet friendly than ordering 3-4 dishes. I really enjoyed eating at Wan Lung Chinese after hiking. We were the only ones in the restaurant, which was normal since it was a Tuesday mid afternoon. Inside the restaurant was simple and clean. The service was attentive and provided us time to order the food. We got tea in the beginning and some water, which we needed after hiking. We ordered the family meals: beef and broccoli, orange chicken, and rice. The orange chicken was amazing! Perfectly fried and seasoned to perfection. I couldn't stop eating it. Absolutely spot on customer service. Food was prepared from scratch and was hot and ready when we got home. The sesame beef had a great flavor, but maybe could have a few less green peppers. Mild broccoli chicken was a hit with my son and husband who have a less adventurous palate. There are regulars here who come in once a week. Growing up, my family often ordered takeout from Wan Lung. Us kids always made sure we were home those nights for dinner because it was the favorite for all of us. I moved away for a while once I became an adult, and moved back to my hometown not long ago. I'm 33 now and living nearby Wan Lung once again. My fiancé and I ordered it recently and I was so excited to realize it's just a yummy as I remembered it from when I was younger. New owner lady doesn't seem to know anything about restaurant business other than taking your money. I got to the restaurant at 9:40 or 20 minutes before closing, they turned me away saying they're closing at 10:00 PM. When your in a food service industry especially restaurants, yes your business hours are set but by law you're supposed to honor every customer that walks in to your restaurant before you close and your supposed to serve that customer until they've finished their food. They were just sitting there waiting to go home with the kitchen closed down for the day 20 minutes before closing! Few months ago same thing happened but they offered to cook to go but now all I got was " we close at 10" it's really sad that the service has gotten this bad, guess I will go elsewhere for my Chinese food from now on. I ordered to go a pan fried noodle with Shrimp which was awful. The noodles were not pan fried, they were soggy and rubbery at the same time as if sitting for hours in the sauce. The shrimp were inedible with a weird texture that was sort of slimy. I had to throw the whole thing into the garbage. The prices were ridiculously expensive. The website is a lie. The prices are not accurate at all. The pan fried noodles with Shrimp dish was more expensive than advertises before they let us know it was an additional $6.00 for the shrimp....in a shrimp dish!!
