I purchased refurbished Lap top and I'm satisfied for the function. Key board and exterior is quite different from the original one, but there is no limitation to use the Lap top. It was quite good price, so I'm happy to have it. read more

Ordered a refurbished ThinkPad X250 from Newegg.com, though it seems like the listing there is down. Have had the laptop for about a month now, and it works well. I originally had an X250 for about 3 years, buying it when it was a brandnew flagship with top-of-the-line specs for little more than a grand. Naturally, getting a refurbished X250 for about 1/3rd of that price with better internal specs (SSD for more than just the boot, better processor) was a far better trade than trying to repair my old boy for the third time. Hopefully this one lasts the year (or three) that I hope it can. Unfortunately, all the refurbished models came with "HD" screens (that's 720p compared to FHD 1080p), and given that my desktop has a 1440p, it hurts the eyes a bit. The battery it came with was also a "normal" external battery at 3v, so I switched that out with my old extended battery at 6v. At any rate, its definitely worth going refurbished if you don't need the newest possible chassis, since the internals are up-to-date and the whole package is so, so much cheaper that its hard to believe. Very good. read more

I purchased a refurbished Dell laptop from Bestbuy which was refurbished from Joy Systems for my son. I've never purchased anything refurbished so I was nervous about the condition it would arrive in. To my surprise the laptop exceeded my expectations. My son didn't even know if was used. Everything was provided (ie.charger, warranty info). He just plugged it right in and was ready to go! I hope continues to exceed my expectations if I do need to contact tech support in the future. For now we are happy:). read more

I Purchased an HP prodesk 600 for my son through Tiger Direct. Came in quick and worked better than expected for about 3 weeks. Then it suddenly quit sending signal to the monitor. I called Joy Systems service number everyday for a week and could not get through or receive a return call. I then emailed the Service dept and received their auto response that they would contact me shortly. I gave up after a couple of weeks. turns out the SSD drive was bad so I had to buy another hard drive and reinstall the OS. Customer Service is non existent here. I'm glad I didn't waste my money on their extra protection plans. read more

Computer is functioning perfectly and so is my refurbished monitor, I am very happy with the shipping via UPS. Thank you so much... The people at TigerDirect made it all possible with their website. read more

I was in need of a pc for a specific project and discovered a refurbished machine to suite my needs. Little did I know Best Buy works with Joy Systems but, it worked out nicely! The only issue would be the machine was confusing in that there was a teenie tiny button on the side to turn on/off the internet so the start-up was more difficult than need be had their been a piece of paper added to indicate. Thank You Joy! read more

I purchased a refurbished Dell desktop for a very good price. I received it in about 3 days, hooked it up in a couple of hours and now i'm in business! I have no complaints and am very happy with both the condition (like new) and the service. I can't comment on the warranty, etc. as I just started using it. Refurb is the only way to go! I buy practically all my electronics refurbished and have never had a problem. Just stick with a major company like New Egg and you'll be fine. The computer came in a heavy duty box with the PC shrink wrapped with Foam cushioning inside and the box was labelled "Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher". The only negative was I didn't like the keyboard so I'm sticking with my old reliable one. read more

I've purchase 3 computers (all from Best Buy). The 1st computer (a HP) on 12/13/18. It died 21 months later (Sept 2020 (it would not turn on and the fan made a horrible noise). The 2nd computer (another HP) on 3/18/19. It died 21 months later on 12/13/20 (3 days after I had just purchased the 3rd computer (the hard drive went). I installed the hard drive from the 1st computer on the 2nd computer and it is now working, but I'm sure it will die soon too. The 3rd computer I bought on 12/10/20 (a Dell). I am hoping this computer will last more than the normal 21 months. I'm sorry I decided to buy these computers. I should have bought a brand new one in Dec. 2018. It would have cost me a lot less and would have avoided a lot of headaches. read more

I purchased a refurbished computer from BestBuys online store. The order was fulfilled by Joy Systems. The package arrived quicker than expected. Packaging was great and computer externally had no flaws. I am actually using it as a desktop replacement and am pleased. Thanks Joy Systems!! read more

Bought a refurbished HP computer. Does what I want it to do for the price.

Purchased poorly refurbished laptop that didn't work out of the box. From reading other reviews seems like that's things are done at Joy systems. Terrible customer service!!!.. Waited on hold for one hour to talk to a rep was 5th in line when 5:30pm came the robot all of the sudden change it's tune to call back during normal business hours lol Unreal!!! Lenovo decided to step up to the plate and fix everything directly with them after complaining to them about their authorized refurbiser. Definitely would not recommend Joy systems to anyone despite their good prices.. You're buying a headache for that good price read more

I purchased a refurbished HP desk top in December 2021. No hassle set up and It has run great right out of the box. I had an issue with the mouse that was included and they promptly sent me a new one. The replacement's cord was not as long as the original. They said they would ship me another one that matched the original mouse cord length. After two weeks I never received it. I called back and they no longer had the mouse with the cord length I desired. The rep was unapologetic and offered no solution. My experience with their support team was pleasant until the last rep. He does not understand customer service and it makes me weary of dealing with them in the future. read more

Wished I had read some of the reviews before ordering. Shipping was fast and very nicely packaged, but blue screen of death on startup. "Inaccessible boot device" Luckily I am a computer guy and fixed the problem. Quality control seems to be lacking at this company as several of the reviews had the same type problems. I bought mine through Office Depot who received it from Joy Systems. Hopefully no more problems. read more

I purchased a refurbished Dell Optiplex 760. Upsides: The price was good, the instructions were easy to follow, and it worked well for a while. This is an update for my last review. I have increased my stars because they have offered an acceptable solution to the problem. If you are going to deal with this company, keep all correspondence and stay on top of things. If they say they will reach out to you in 24 hours, if it has been 25 hours, then contact them, don't wait. I will say this about the representatives that I dealt with in email, they were professional. And in their latest correspondence to both myself and my father, they apologized for the problems that were happening. I am not sure if I would do business with this company again but as I said, I appreciate them finally doing what it is right. They do have very good pricing on their computers but as I said, stay on top of any business dealings with them. read more

I just purchased a Dell Laptop from Joy Systems. The product came quickly as was well wrapped. Windows 10 was pre-installed and setup was easy on my side. I got everything running in a couple of hours (including installing all the add on software I wanted). As of now, the refurbished system works well. So, I am happy. I would have given them 5 stars. But, I need more time to insure that the system is stable.... But, so far, my experience has been great. read more

Customer service effectively assisted me in getting a return processed after a 45 minute wait on hold. However, I purchased a refurb system through the Best Buy Marketplace and was not sent the system I ordered. Then, when I took it to my IT guy to set up, the disc drive was not working, the hard drive was 5 years old (and described as a ticking time bomb), and the PC was registered to a foreign country with a non working windows key. When I told customer service I was not sent the system I ordered, they said they'd run out of what I'd ordered and sent me an upgraded system. However, I needed the exact system for a hard drive clone, which they accepted as valid reason for the return. However, they should have notified me they did not have what I ordered so I could have cancelled it in the first place. Anyway, bottom line, just don't trust these guys for quality refurb electronics. read more

Just like other reviewers, I had much better luck to reach technical support by email than phone calls. I was told to be a number caller in the queue, and it would take a long long time before I reach a live person. I got Tom and Channing to help me with my issues. My Window 7 product key was a mess, the product key they provided to be not "genuine". After downloading a remote access software for their technician to access my laptop, Channing was taking over to resolve the software product key issue. Then I realized I could only use ethernet cable instead of wifi, I got Channing to get back to download couple software drivers from Dell to resolve my issues. Since I am in retail business, I understand they must be overwhelmed with telephone calls. I actually like the email and remote access support to resolve my problems. If you purchased a refurbished computer, their service is actually decent and resolve promptly via email. read more

I ordered a PC from a vendor that sells JoySystem. When it arrived, the processer fan was not secured to system board; two of the screws were stripped, and the processor fan was hanging. This will be the last computer I buy from JoySystems. When you buy a device from Joy it's like rolling the dice... "Yea, I got a good one" or "Oh no, I rolled "CRAP!" When I called tech support, it told me I was # 4 in line, and the wait time would be 7 minutes, after about a minute, the wait time dropped to 2 minutes then 7 minutes then 12, then after 31 minutes on hold it told me the hold time was 22 minutes , at that point the system took me out of the que & told me to call back later or send an email. This is standard Tech Support read more

Best Buy uses Joy Systems for their refurbished computers. I ordered a refurbished Dell E7450 laptop. It was sent out promptly by Joysystems. After logging into Microsoft, a system message said "CPU fan failure". The unit was getting above normal temperature after a few minutes. I called Joysystems and told them about the CPU fan failure. I was disappointed by how a defective computer could be sent out. They said a bad apple gets by occasionally. They e-mailed me a FedEx return so I could send it back, with no hassle. Best Buy is giving me my refund. I feel I have wasted time going for a refurbished computer. read more

I have order many refurbished desktop computers from JoySystems through Office Depot. I am pleased with all of them they work great and the price is outstanding. The first one had a little problem with the power supply fan but it was easy to remedy. I would have given them 5 star but the last computer was packed in the box not secured correctly and there was a dent in the box when it arrived so I was worried it would have problems but it did not (still didn't like the way it was packed should have been more secure). read more

UPDATE: I had to up my rating as it is much easier and faster to reach them via email. Tom and Chris were very helpful to resolve the issue in less than a day. So i suggest everyone to use email with Joy Systems. Joy systems no joy at all. They sent me the computer that has problems: 1. It actually makes lots of noise within few seconds of start up. 2. The biggest issue being , the Windows product registration key seem to be messed up big time. They sent me Win 7 Home Prem instead of Win 7 Pro. Trying to reach their customer service is another night mare. Tried several times with more than 40 minutes wait time. Could not get any where. The voice mail goes into a black hole. "The mail box is full. Cannot accept message. An error returned..." and then disconnects. Btw, these guys do Overstock as well along with Walmart, BestBuy and TigerDirect. Joy Systems - HP Compaq Pro 6305 Refurbished Desktop Computer - Computers Near Me - Somerset, New Jersey

I purchased 4 refurbished desktop and laptop computers from Joy Systems via resellers, most recently Newegg. I highly recommend going to the Joy Systems storefront at Newegg if you need an inexpensive system, a faster processor than you would normally pay for as new equipment, a business system free of bloatware, etc. Their refurbishing is thorough, the OS is fully setup, its cleaned inside & out, no marks of sample defects, and has one year warranty. You need to go the system's own vendor website to download your product's manuals. One of my systems needed a new DVD drive. That should have been discovered by Joy's own testing, but I got through to customer service after holding for 15 minutes and the drive exchange was arranged easily. One of my purchases did not get the latest BIOS update from Joy's refurbishing process and I had to do that myself, but the other three had BIOS updates. If you are a beginner, the refurb route may not be best for you. read more

I purchased a refurbished computer through Tiger Direct on 11/23/20. Less than 4 months later, I get the BSOD. HP says to first try re-installing the OS. I contact Joy Systems who says they will "expedite" a USB since there was no disc included. Their idea of expedited is standard, regular mail. That does not work, HP says it sounds like a hard drive issue. I request a box from Joy Systems to send it in for repair/replacement. I am told on 3/18/21 a box is being prepared. The technician assisting me fails to respond to some emails, gave me the wrong tracking number and said it was FedEx. I respond saying the tracking number is not valid for FedEx or USPS. I had to sit on hold for 2 hours to get the right tracking number. Over a week later now, no updates on the USPS site. I sit on hold again for another hour, Joy Systems says it's been lost and another one will be sent. They refuse to expedite it. My technician still has not responded. 100% dissatisfied and will never purchase anything that uses Joy Systems as the warranty company again!!! read more

I recently purchased my 2nd refurbished laptop from Walmart. The order was fulfilled by Joy Systems in both cases. Price was very reasonable, which is definitely the selling point for a refurb laptop. The laptop came in good conditions: very clean, with just minor signs of usage. Delivery was on time. Now I'm using a business laptop which used to sell for almost $2k for just a fraction of the price! I give Joy Systems 4 stars for now because I cannot talk about customer service (I didn't have the need to contact them so far, which I think is a plus anyway ;). I definitely recommend buying from them and I will in the future. read more

Make sure you use any computer you buy from Joy Systems a lot the 1st 90 days during their warranty period. I got their 1st quality used IBM Thinkpad Yoga for $400 and the hard drive and power supply went out in the first 90 days. It took a week or two to get the parts back and in the mean-time the clock is ticking on the warranty period and your system is out of commission while you wait. I have since found 2 cracks in the screen after my warranty period was over. The case was warn to the point where the Thinkpad logo is hardly noticeable. If this is their 1st quality, I'd hate to see their 3rd quality machines. Yes, they honored their warrant for the first 90 days, but I will never buy from Joy Systems again due to the poor quality of the their equipment. I'd say the system I got was worth maybe $100 at the most. Very disappointed in this company and Surprised they are a certified Microsoft re-seller. Makes be wonder about Microsoft associating themselves with such a sub-par company. I'd stay away from this company's products. read more
