I purchased a lenovo refurbished chromebook. Great instructions came with the chromebook. Very reasonable price and also added two year warranty very cheap. Usually do not add warranty but for under $10 I did. Great communication and a good chromebook. Chromebooks are great if you do not print. If you try to print with a noncompatiable printer to the google cloud it is a real challenge, but can be done. read more

We purchased a laptop to use in our medical office and it's worked perfectly so far. It also looks like it's new! There is such a difference from our older computers. We would consider replacing more computer equipment from them. read more

It is a solid option as opposed to new. The laptop started right up all is working great. I will mention that they seem to have put some 3m wrap on parts near keyboard. The fingerprint reader was cover with a vinyl shrink wrap that I used a razor to remove to get it to work. I still will definitely buy from them again. read more

I ordered a refurbished Thinkpad X250 ultrabook from Staples that was fulfilled by Joy Systems. The X250 and its AC adapter arrived via FedEx one day after I ordered it. The unit was in much better condition than I expected with no obvious physical wear and tear at all and a great battery life. The laptop came with clear instructions how to activate the Windows 10 Home operating system and contact information in case I ran into any issues with the software or the hardware. I'm very happy with it and would definitely recommend refurbished units from Joy Systems to others. read more

Purchased through Staples, Dell OptiPlex 7040 ST1-21825 Refurbished Desktop Computer, Intel i7, 16GB Memory, 512GB SSD. The unit was shipped Extremely FAST and PACKAGED EXTREMELY well, one of the best packaging jobs I've seen and have setup more than 500 PC's in my lifetime. Unit was in great shape and came with everything needed. Took unit out of box connected everything and the first thing that shows up is the bios/configuration screen telling me the clock was wrong - it was set to default time. Corrected the time and saved. Then give me the BLUE SCREEN of DEATH on bootup, after 3 tries it then gave the option screen to reinstall the OS. So that took over night to finish - not too happy so far.. Next setup the unit as it was running great and everything installed fine. So powered off unit overnight, Asked for clock again next day but the OS came right up and was running fine. I left the Desktop on for a week and then powered off. I came back on as normal. Let off over night, came back on like normal. Still a little worried ABOUT THE CLOCK.. bUT UNIT IS RUNNING great NOW.. NO ISSUES for 3 weeks now. read more

Joy Systems - Computers Near Me - Somerset, New Jersey

I'm sorry to say my experience has not been a good one. I got the new computer because my CD drive had burnt out and my old computer is now older and slower, so time to upgrade. I buy a DELL (supposed to be a good name) from Overstock .com. I get the delivery in good order, and hook it up. Right away it starts with The computer has run into a problem and needs to restart. it shuts down and may restart or it may not. I did get it to stay on long enough to install turbotax and do my taxes. but then it crashed again, and I had to go back to my old computer. How can you sell computers and not include a startup reset CD? I need to hook it up again and see if I can get my tax return out of it. But the last time I had it powered up it wouldn't start. After leaving the review I tried to power it up again. After a fight I almost got the sign in page for joy systems support filled in and it crashed again. I want my money back. read more

I had problems with the laptop I purchased, they were patient & helpful in getting the computer to connect to the network.

Let's review this sleek, stunningly AWESOME computer purchased from Overstock.com! 1st: If this is refurbished, then I'm giving a loud SHOUT OUT to some talented dudes and dudettes at 'Joy Systems', because this baby looks brand new. Yowziers!! Can you tell I'm happy? :o) 2nd: The start-up instructions were a breeze to get through. I already had a flash drive with my favorites on it and a hot second later they were imported. I also had licenses for Norton and Office 365, so they were added to the apps library. And... since I am an avid Chrome user, it was also downloaded and I was off and running. Everything on the screen looked like my old machine (a very lovely and loyal (10+ years) HP), but the Lenovo was 'space years' ahead of what I had been using. The keyboard takes a light touch and is easy to use. The touchpad is just... WOW! The screen, the definition, is just beyond words. I don't think I've EVER had a computer like this one and, believe me, having been an IT director, I've know some computers (no names mentioned). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this computer and, if I could, I would give it 10 stars. That being said. I've only had the computer for a few days and just started using it yesterday. SO... we shall see, what we shall see. read more

Bought a refurbished ThinkPad notebook last December. The keyboard stopped working around April. I filled out the warranty papers and because I didn't kept the original box where the notebook came in I had to wait around two wees for Joy Systems to send me a new one. Once I got the box, the process was easy. Took it to FDEX and in less than two weeks I got a new ThinkPad back. The packaging and service was good. read more

So I bought a refurbished computer system from Joy Systems about 8 or 9 months ago. I am on the computer purchased from them right now as I type. I am doing that, working, and listening to youtube vids all at the same time, plus a few more task. This Dell OptiPlex 760 is STILL humming along perfectly. It has not slowed down one bit. We use it primarily in the office and it absolutely performs all of the task put to it. This has been so far a very good deal. I don't think we paid more than 120 bucks for this thing and it may have been under 100, I cannot remember every single thing purchased. I do know, I will probably buy 2 or 3 more units from Joy Systems to replace those millennial dinasours in the house. The setup was very simple, with enough simplicity even for an almost "old head" like myself. I highly recommend these guys if you need good computing but don't want to spend ridiculous amounts of hard earned cash. Joy Systems is who you need to remember. They can be found on the Ebay and Amazon web sites. read more

Like I said, posting a negative review was my last hope and it worked !! Thanks to Dawn M. Finally that's some real customer support by listening to what customer needs. I got an FedEx email saying a replacement laptop is on its way shortly after Dawn replied to my review. I asked Emmanuel is this the replacement laptop and Emmanuel said yes. I got it and monitored for 3 weeks. No issues so I sent the faulty one back. Please note : this is exactly what I've been asking for months. Except no deposit needed! I would like to give 5 stars after the issue is resolved. But I decided to leave it at 4 stars to remind Joysystems whoever is responsible to keep denying my reasonable request twice. read more

I bought a Dell Latitude E7470 laptop Core i7-6600U 2.6GHz, 512GB, as a Christmas present for my daughter. When it arrived, we noticed the screen locked up the systems when we moved it and the thumbprint scanner didn't work. We exchanged it for another and this time the speakers were tinney so we exchaged it again. Third time is a charm I guess because we received our replacement last Friday and everything seems to be ok this time. This computer is awesome for the price. I only wish it came working the first time. Joy Systems customer service is good. We are still disappointed my daughter didn't get to enjoy her present until almost 2 months later. Joy systems code #TA470870 Additional feedback: I did not get a fedex ship alert when the computer was shipped out, nor did I get the opportunity to sign for my computer when it was delivered this past Friday. Thank goodness we were home and heard footsteps on our stairs. Fedex just put the box on our front porch, in plain sight!, and left. No knock, or doorbell, or anything. I suggest that Joy Systems tighten up your shipping policies to avoid possible theft/losses in the future. read more

I purchased an Elitebook Folio 9480m from this company earlier this year---I left a review then as well, and even got an amazon card for it. After a year of having this device, and having since shipped for and received a replacement model, I have come to terms with a much better review; SAVE YOUR MONEY. BUY ELSEWHERE. In the almost year I've had this laptop, I've picked up so much knowledge on terms of how to fix and repair almost everything about it. There's always something wrong with it. When I opened up the back of this laptop, it seems like it was assembled within four minutes flat. None of the screws were tightened, wires were out of place, even the wificard was located elsewhere, all having to be fixed by me, of course. Why would I have to go to the point of soldering parts just floating in the back of my laptop because you fail as a company to do quality assurance? I bought this laptop with the intent and desire to use it instantly. I was given absolutely everything //else// because of how horrible this company is. I've even taken the knowledge learned from the absolute shitshow this laptop from joysystems is, to fix other computers and laptops in my area. Funny, huh? I can take a laptop that hasn't been turned on in months and restore it to working order, but with my Elitebook Folilo 9480m, It's like no matter what I do, it will never function properly as a laptop. My first laptop from them was even worst. I had to use another computer to install absolutely everything back onto it, the drivers, windows, you name it, just to get it to function normally. All for granted mind you, because the horrible work done in the inside of this computer wiped out all my hard work, art, and assignments in two and a half weeks. All gone, instantly. It took me a MONTH to be able to ship that laptop back to them, with their atrocious customer service. Their representatives, on both email and over the phone, don't seem to know or care for what your issue with the computer is. I feel like I get talked down to when I tell them about the poor condition of this computer or request for help, they'll just ship a random part unrelated to your laptops problem your way and call it done. Absolutely infuriating. When I went out of my way and paid 640+ for this laptop, I expected a used computer of course, but one that would work and function normally, if not beautifully, despite it's outer condition. With joysystems, you don't get that. I would absolutely love my money back. I wish I could have my money back from this horrible company, so I could invest in a better laptop than this joke of a Elitebook they sent me. I bet if anything, if they absolutely respond at all, they'll just send me another sad excuse of a laptop that i'll have to do even more repairwork on and waste my time further. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS COMPANY. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. read more

Let me preface this review by saying that I very rarely if ever write negative reviews of companies or services. This can be verified by looking up my reviews on google and yelp - nearly all of my reviews are extremely positive. I think long and hard before posting something that may have a negavtive impact on a company - especially during these unusual times. In fact, I waited several weeks after my experience to post this review to give the company the benefit of doubt / time. That said, here goes. Not much "joy" in my experience with "Joy systems". Absolutely abysmal customer service. They have flat out refused to repair my laptop issue (built-in webcam not detected). I purchased this refurbished HP laptop from "Tiger direct" (a not very "direct" computer retailer) and "Joy systems" was the refurbisher as well as the warranty service provider. Within a couple of months, the laptop stopped charging altogether, and I had to send it to "Joy systems" for service. The initial response was quick. But when I asked a follow-up question about what they meant by "the hard drive would be wiped clean" - I did not get a response for days on end. I then called them and spoke to a rep who was nice enough and answered my question, and told me that my email to them might have been flagged as spam and ended up in their junk folder. About a week after shipping the laptop to them, I sent them a status request email. I never received a response to that email either. I received the laptop back a day or two after that, and the charging was indeed fixed. However, now the integrated webcam would not work (could not be detected at all) (it was working fine before I sent them the laptop - my son was using it for virtual school). I emailed them back about this, and this time I received an immediate and curt response saying that they will not service this because the original specs did not include a webcam! I sent them a copy of the original specs which indeed did include the integrated webcam - it did not indeed get magically added to the laptop after the purchase. They once again point blank refused to provide service for the webcam because "they checked the order and it did not include webcam as a part of the listed specifications", with no supporting evidence. Suffice it to say this experience has convinced me never to purchase from tiger direct, to think twice before purchasing refurbished, and to read the fine print on warranties to make sure an irresponsible and untrustworthy 3rd party like "Joy systems" isn't sneaking into the picture. read more

I ordered two laptops from Staples (older models that my customers specified) and they were delivered from Joy Systems since they're refurbs. The laptops came shrink wrapped as well as bubble-wrapped and were in excellent shape on the exterior (they said there may be scratches, etc., from use, but they were in great shape). There were documents to tell me where the Windows 10 code is and what to do to get them registered. Also had support numbers in case they were needed. I installed W10 on one, configured it to my customer's specs (Office, vscan, etc.) and it worked great. Opened the second one, got W10 configured, rebooted and it had Fan Failure. Did Dell Diagnostics and confirmed. I called customer support and after just a couple of minutes wait, spoke with a rep. She understood what was wrong and offered to send a new fan, but I didn't feel I should have to do repair work on a newly purchased computer, so she offered to exchange. Sent it in the box it came in, took it to Fed Ex after they gave me a RMA label. Haven't received it back, as it just happened last week, but feel confident I'll get it back repaired or a replacement. I took a star off because of the 2nd computer failure. Luckily these aren't critical laptops so we have the time for the return/replacement. The customer service rep was a little short with me (didn't get her name), but I ended up with an easy RMA and label quickly. The other computer is still working great! read more

Bought a Dell toughbook style laptop to handle my needs in the field for my work. Needed something that was reliable, easy to use, and rugged. So far, this unit has been great. Got an amazing deal through Newegg. Computer is in like-new condition. Everything started up just fine. No concerns / complaints at all. I recently purchased a pre-owned Dell Optiplex 9020 Tower. So this is the second one I received. The first one I picked up from Best Buy and got home and opened the box and there was a dent where the panel slides on and off the tower. Additionally, the disc drive was loose and when you tried to push the eject button the whole drive pushed back into the tower. I figured that maybe just a screw was missing so I returned it to Best Buy where they just replaced the tower after a few days. Fast forward to the new tower. Upon inspection the unit was in perfect condition, none of the issues the first one had. One thing my wife pointed out is something some other reviewers had... the unit itself produces noise as it loads. Other than this the tower works extremely well. The speed when opening files, apps, and the web browser are really nice. The hard drive wasn't pre-loaded with a bunch of useless, unnecessary apps. The memory is large and could allow a user to store a lot on the hard drive itself. In all honesty you can't even tell this is refurbished. The unit itself feels new. In the end I feel like we made an excellent choice for what we paid for and what was received. I would recommend purchasing this if you're looking for something economical and with quality. read more

I bought a Joy Systems refurbished computer from Best Buy after reading some hype article on how great refurb computers are. It was as dead as a doorstop right out of the box, and I had to get my money back from Best Buy. After that, I'm pretty much soured on the idea of refurb computers and this company. I mean, what kind of company tries to fob off dead computers on people? Certainly not one I would ever be willing to trust again. read more

Ordered a refurbed Dell Latitude E7440. Upon opening the laptop, it wouldn't turn on. After troubleshooting with Joy Systems, they agreed to replace. Initially they wouldn't replace until they revieved back the laptop which is a lengthy process. When I pressed them, they agreed to cross ship - meaning my replacement would ship when they confirmed My FedEx package had been dropped off. I shipped back my bunk laptop on a Wednesday, they didn't ship my replacement until the following Monday via 4 day FedEx. They didn't tell me the shipment required a signature and was not allowed to be held at a FedEx location "per policy". So that was a mess. I finally got my replacement 10 days after sending back my first laptop. Second laptop also would not turn on. Troubleshot with Joy Systems, no luck. They agreed to replace again through same process, refusing to overnight. I explained it was easier to just return to amazon and buy a new laptop which would take 2 days, they said fine, do that. As a last ditch effort I called Dell. Dell was amazing and is taking care of everything. Joy Systems is just a bulk reseller of used laptops. They do zero testing and just hope for the best. On such a large scale it works out for them, for me it was a sh!t show. Be warned. read more

The system worked as advertised and looked like new. The only problem I had was trying to remove the case access cover from the desktop. The case for the desktop is equipped with an option for an anti-theft lock. The cover tab on the case was bent which did not allow the antitheft mechanism to operate in a correct manner which would allow the cover to be removed. Calling the Joysystems support line provided no help. I believe the support person had no idea what my problem was. I was sent a video to "solve" my problem. The video was of no help. I have experienced antitheft locks on Laptops but never on a desktop. After much effort, I was able to remove the Case cover and correct the problem. The case has an opening for a padlock. The handle on the case is designed to allow the antitheft mechanism to cover the padlock hole if no lock is present. Since the cover tabs were bent the mechanism acted as if there was a lock in the hole and would not allow the cover to be removed. Poor assembly of the cover. read more

Ordered a refurbished HP Folio 9470M 14" Laptop from walmart over the new years weekend, it arrived the following Wednesday. Upon arrival the box seemed in pretty decent condition, but I could easily feel my laptop sliding around in the box, so further steps to insuring my item would be safe during shipment would be preferred. The laptop itself is true to its nature of a refurbished item, with scrapes an damage, especially along the sides where the ports are. Well worn, I suppose, it's not the end of the world. But, unfortunately, when I tried to power on my system-- It gave me an error message. Boot device not found. Please install an operating system on your hard disk. After seeing the message, I called Joy Systems customer support to seek help for this, and quite frankly, received very little and the call felt very pointless-- they were going to ship a part completely unnecessary to resolving my issue. After doing a bit more research, I fixed the issue myself by installing windows 10 onto a 8gb flash drive on a different computer, and reinstalled it onto this one. It did the trick, and finally started up, thankfully. It runs well with core i7, 8 GB, and 250 SSD, it can handle my usage of photoshop cs6 smoothly and other power intensive programs, it does it's job. I'm not complaining, but I do wish there was more effort into insuring customer satisfaction, such as testing of computers before they're shipped to reduce unnecessary dissatisfaction and complaints. Most of the reviews listed with their issues all could have been avoided if there was more quality assurance. read more
