Highly recommend Joy Hair Studio! I went to Joy for my first Korean perm, and she was amazing. She took the time to recommend what would work best for my hair type and was super helpful throughout the entire process. I absolutely loved how my hair turned out! I had such a great experience that I came back to have my hair dyed, and once again, I loved the results. I'll definitely be returning. Highly recommend Joy if you're looking for someone who is knowledgeable and helpful. read more

Finally, I LOVE my hair! My mother always said I shouldn't complain because my hair could hold a curl pretty well, but depending on the day, I could wake up to half curly, wavy or straight depending on how I slept on it or how it dried. Which meant styling it unless I just threw it up in a ponytail. Well, no more. The digital perm definitely took longer than I expected (3 hours in the chair) but was worth it! This is my hair naturally dried out of the shower. Not even with any product yet (was going to use some oil in the morning). I can see why not all stylists are willing to do them because it took a good chunk out of Joy's day to cut and digital perm my thick hair but she has a lifelong customer in me now! read more

Joy Hair Studio - Maybe she's born with it? Maybe it's Joy's digital perm. - Hair Salons Near Me - Redondo Beach, California

I had the most amazing experience at Joy Hair Studio last night. I reached out last minute, and Joy was kind enough to take me in and I'm so glad she did because she absolutely exceeded my expectations. I walked in with my hair feeling like a complete mess and walked out with everything I wanted and more. Joy truly listens, understands your vision, and somehow makes it even better than you imagined. Her talent speaks for itself, but what really stood out to me is her! Joy is such a wonderful, genuine person. The conversation, the environment, and the overall experience were just as incredible as the haircut itself. I honestly don't understand why more people aren't flooding her salon. She's a one-woman show and absolutely killing it. The attention to detail, care, and passion she puts into her work is unmatched. And as a bonus!! Her prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality of work and experience you receive. I can't recommend Joy Hair Studio enough. Do yourself a favor and go find out for yourself, you won't regret it. read more

Joy was very quick & thorough i went for hair wash & dryperfect!! Took me 3days to fit in too

I had long hair for over five years and booked her for a haircut and digital perm, which was supposed to take about three hours. When she started cutting my hair, she noticed I already had the desired style without a perm because my hair was gaining some natural waves due to menopause. I just didn't realize because I was always blow-drying and tying my hair. Instead of taking my money and pushing forward with the original plan, she was 100% honest with me and explained that I wouldn't need the perm. She also gave me excellent tips on air drying and styling my hair. I'm sure it was a loss for her, but her honesty saved me time and money. I'll definitely go back to her. read more

My 3yo was very happy getting her first haircut from Joy. She's very skiddish around other stylists but loved her, even though she's not a Childrens stylist per se. Loved getting the whole place to ourselves. Would come back for her haircuts read more

I called last minute and she took me in the same day after closing time and I am truly grateful! This was my first time and I'm very impressed with her services. The salon has a cozy and modern atmosphere that made me feel relaxed and comfortable. She is experienced and skilled, and provided excellent recommendations and advice based on my hair type and preferences. I got a trim and bangs and I'm extremely satisfied with the results. I'm going to bring my daughter here next week for a haircut! Overall, this hair salon is a top-notch choice for anyone looking for a professional and high-quality hair care experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to look and feel their best! read more

BEWARE!!!!! the owner is like Dr. jeckel and Mr. Hyde my son had a bad hair cut last week so I decided to try a new place being joy studio. we went there on Sunday and she said she didn't have time for him since he needed a perm and a haircut so we scheduled it for today at 3:45. my son was nervous from his last haircut and asked a few questions which seemed to annoy her. she rushed him to show her a picture and he explained please not too short and she said if you don't know what you want I don't have time for you. he showed her the picture twice and she said she couldn't do it and it won't look like that. he felt uncomfortable since she said she had other clients and to come back another day. this is highly unprofessional and I would not recommend anyone going to her. thanks for wasting not one but two days of our time. read more

First time here. I came with a recommendation from my sister in law. Her prices are good and she is very professional. I like the way she styled my hair and the way she cut my bangs. Bangs are hard to cut for me but I really like how she did it. It's like a Vidal Sassoon quality haircut but with down to earth prices. I'll be coming here from now on. read more

Really amazing job with my hair and my husband's hair. My husband wasnt going to get his haircut initially but as soon as he saw my haircut, he went in immediately. Probably the best haircut he has ever gotten since I dated him haha! She listens careful to what kind of hair style you are hoping for and tells you the ins and outs (the maintenance, how it's going to look growing out and such) with the hair style. She will gently give suggestions to what will work and not in regards to your expectations. Great price, service and skills! read more

I went in for a balayage today but my hopes were not too high because I had half of my hair bleached, colored blue. I thought it would be difficult for it to work but I was surprised with the results. It exceeded my expectations. My hair is absolutely beautiful and I couldn't ask for anything else. I am still blown away that the transition was possible. Service is also a 10/10. I 100% recommend getting your hair done here, you're in good hands :) read more

I've never gotten my hair cut by anyone else but my mom previous to coming here but coming here was one of the best decisions I've made. Going from a mom's haircut to coming here was like jumping from the freshman team to the varsity team. She's one of the friendliest and kindest people out there and will make sure you're taken care of. My experience with Joy Hair Studio can be summed up in one word. Perfect. From the moment I sat down in the chair, I felt comfortable and on top of that I felt like I was being taken care of. The haircut was absolutely on point and you can tell she knew what she was doing. The shampoo was at the end was just the cherry on top. Absolutely relaxing and perfect. If you want quality and someone you can reliably come back to for consistency, then you've found the place my friend. This place deserves the highest praise possible. Thank you for saving me from my mom's haircuts! read more

I was skeptical trying out a new hair salon, especially when it comes to my hair style because I have been let down so many times to find who is understand what I exactly want. After I found out Lucia Hair Design changed ownership I was totally bummed. A gals gotta find just the right person and stick with them forever, ya know. It's just too important. After months of hoping around from salon to salon in the South Bay, I walked into Joys Hair Studio and what do you know, I found my old hair stylist Joanna. She is at Joy's Hair now. Best day ever. Joanna's the best and least expensive I have found in the Southbay. Her dye job is consistent and she is a super sweet person. Couldn't be happier to have found her again. read more

I have been going to the same hairdresser for the last 20 years. After she'd retired, I was looking for a place for my haircut and at my friend's recommendation, I tried Joy Hair. My favorite hair stylist ever! Love having her design my hair. My husband always said he gets a new wife after I get a haircut from here.

Joy was able to accommodate me last minute, which was great. I have never colored my hair and was nervous about finally having to do it. We spent a lot of time deciding what would be best, and she picked a great color. It was suttle, which is what I wanted. I appreciate Joy because she listened to me and did a fantastic job.
