Finding a great stylist is more difficult than finding a needle in a haystack. Look no further and make an appointment at Evolution Salon. I have been a customer for 10+ years and will never go elsewhere. The coloring skill and experience Rodlyn and other stylist in the salon are amazing! My hair is always healthy and strong even after coloring and highlights. I consistently receive compliments on my color from other stylist (when I style my hair elsewhere for events ). They use only quality hair products , treatments and color that are not cheap or run of the mill and it shows in the end result of the service. An added bonus is that all of the salon staff and stylist are super nice , friendly and welcoming! I love going to Evolution. I can truly relax and feel great when I leave. Beware! It seem this salon gets offended when you don't continue to see the same stylist. I have a very busy schedule and I have seen two different stylist due to the fact that the appointment that I need (time wise ) did not work with theirs. I at no time said I was not happy with either of the girls who did my hair. Apparently me seeing two different people makes me a difficult client . I went to make an appointment with the owner which is whom I originally wanted to see. But again due to the schedule it was not possible . When I went in today to schedule the appointment I was told she was busy until November 17 to be exact . The receptionist asked what I wanted and I was explaining that I wanted some kind of keratin treatment and she was explaining to me they had something called Botox and the keratin. I wasn't too sure about the hair color but she said both can be done the same day. She was looking at my account and seeing what I had done before since I did have the keratin and hair color . Everything seemed fine until she got uber eats at that time she pretty much said send me pictures of what you are interested in and I'll show the owner ( whom I wanted to do the service ) at that point since food had arrived she did not want to continue to help me . I understood it was most likely her lunch hour so it was no big deal to me . I said Thank you and I made sure I had the business text to send pictures and left. I went ahead later on that night and sent the information she asked for . The following day I get a text saying we can't see you because you have not been happy with any of the girls here so the owner won't see you nor anyone else that works here . I was surprise and I asked to please explain why ? The answer was pretty much the same I was not happy with the services I received and they won't see me . I explain that my schedule if all over the place due to my job and my hours did not co-inside with the girls that were doing treatment on me . I was so confused and I kept asking to speak to the owner because I felt I was being treated unfairly . At that time I did say I no longer which to be seen by her but I would like to speak to her and if she would please call me. After pretty much me begging the owner send me a text (not a call but text )saying that I was not happy with the services and that she is not taking new clients because she needs to have time available for her clients . I mention that I was offered Nov 17 etc . I mentioned to her everything I explain here and she just never replied back . I'm writing this so everyone knows that if you don't see the same person they consider you being unhappy with the service . However I do believe that any one paying hundred of dollars can see other hairstylist in the salon. It turns out they aren't very professional and I'm sure I will find a place where they don't punish the client for not seeing the same stylist . I don't even know if they are even there!! .. but more than anything I think a call would have been more professional than a reply on a text !! I saw ui for custom body work and I highly recommend her. I was in a car accident and I'm also a hair stylist so I was very tight and uncomfortable. I do daily yoga and would get weekly massages and I haven't felt relief like this ever. That's after one session with her. If you don't want to be in pain anymore, book with ui. read more

I've gone to this salon 3 times now and each time I've had great experiences. Rhiannon is my stylist and she's very talented when it comes to Highlights and catering to blonde hair. I'm always incredibly happy when I leave and she always exceeds my expectations. The vibe is always nice too, I can just sit and be quiet the whole time (practically fall asleep) and there's no awkwardness or pressure to chat the entire time. (Which I LOVE!) The prices are fair and overall all my experiences have been great even with other stylist. I will happily be a returning client and I recommend this salon to everyone! read more

I was in getting my monthly hair cut with the Salon yesterday that I have been going to for years. I witnessed a woman who was demanding something, not sure what , but her demeanor was a lil off and entitled and almost demanding. I couldn't exactly hear it but she was demanding the desk for something and the lady rips off her cape .. then I hear her slightly insulting and badgering with a very demeaning tone in her voice to one of the girls and the front desk girl. This is weird to be honest. It's a nice , laid back atmosphere that's not super loud which is why I love it. Everyone is helpful and nice. The owner is always giving me suggestions and helping look and feel better. The front desk girl is always nice and VERY efficient - she reminds me of making another appointment- if I need to move my appointment, she is very accommodating with the proper notice that anyone would need and appreciate! What I like is I am offered something to drink , told about products - one time I was there they got me lunch with them as a courtesy because I was signed up for a haircut and color but I needed highlights and lowlights which takes a lot more time. The music is playing, there is plenty of parking in back for free , the restroom is clean and so are the shampoo bowls. I am always very happy when I leave as well as my sister and bestie. We all go to different stylist and have the same experience which is - we feel great - were treated great and love our little corner Gem ! I have never had any issues at all and I have been going since 2007. I make an appointment- I show up on time - I appreciate the service - I get free parking then I pay - make another appointment and leave happy ! Evolutions is one of them. 6 months after a terrible experience at a salon a block away, I was desperate for a cut. A big family event was coming, but I was scared to go anywhere after that last fiasco. I explained the story as I sat in Monica's chair & I suddenly though 'she doesn't know me. maybe she'll think I was the problem'. I am SO GLAD I shared my story, because she confirmed that I got a weird cut, adding that the person cut my hair like it was another texture altogether. Monica took her time fixing it, and making me feel comfortable. She is a very talented stylist w awesome customer service skills. As a bonus, my Mother (who is a stylist in NJ) came in for that big event. She commented on what a lovely cut I got. so I recently found out that Brazilian Blowout helps with hair quality and split ends, so I started looking at Groupon and LivingSocial but couldn't find anything with a decent review. Then I just said, why not look locally, and I found this gem! I called to make an appointment, and it was so easy. The lady I spoke to was very friendly and patient and answered all of my questions. I made an appointment with Rodilyn, who texted message me for a picture of my hair to confirm pricing and appointment the day before. They are very reasonably priced, not much more than the Groupon and LivingSocial deals that were available, and they have 5 star reviews! My appointment started on time, and Rodilyn was super friendly and told me how to take care of my hair better as I went through all of my bad hair habits. I didn't smell anything during the Brazilian Blowout treatment, and my hair felt sooooo soft and looked so shiny and healthy afterwards. After a botched balayage at another salon, I found Evolution Salon on Yelp and decided to book an appointment with Mackenzie to correct the color. She spent a good amount of time listening to my concerns and discussing the game plan to fix my hair. It took several hours, but she was incredibly patient and meticulous! She took the time to thoroughly explain every step of the process which I greatly appreciated. She transformed my hair from ugly neon yellow to a beautiful sandy blonde. The salon itself is very clean and well-managed. There is a parking garage, which is very convenient given the busy location. For several years my daughter has been trimming and coloring my hair for me. Unfortunately, the color we normally use became unavailable or discontinued so yesterday we had to try a different one. According to the results pictures on the box everything should have been fine. Well, that wasn't how it turned out. I ended up with dark carrot colored hair on the top of my head, while the ends were the reddish medium blonde we had expected. Any other time I would have laughed and kept washing it before trying another color the following week; but two days from then was my daughter's baby shower with numerous people from the in-laws coming. My daughter goes to Rodlyn at Evolution and called her to see if she could help. She was booked solid but said I could see Herbie today at 11:00. I showed up on time and Herbie met me as I walked in. He seated me and asked what color I would like my hair to turn out. Given the extreme hot "red" I came in with he couldn't promise me anything except to make it much better. He worked on my hair for almost 3 1/2 hours!!! He was right that he couldn't give me the color I really wanted BUT I came out of the salon looking fantastic !!! Waste of time, truly. Save yourself the effort and go somewhere where clients are treated equally. So I booked an appointment and paid the deposit to hold the time. The day before when they were confirming with me, I decided I wasn't ready to commit to the serious color change and cut (my hair was to my butt and I wanted a lob) so I asked to do the color another date - keep in mind it was a 10am appointment originally. Their response was I could only do the cut at 1pm because someone with "greater priority needed to come in at 10am" since I no longer needed the color, even though I originally booked that slot. When I pushed to ask them if that person could come in at even 11am, they said that that client was more of a "priority" and cancelled my service all together. The lack of integrity displayed by this salon is astounding. With how much they charge for their services and the policies they have, I would have hoped to have been treated with a tad bit more courtesy. All in all, I'm glad It didn't work out because I found a different salon with a significantly higher rating (and a larger clientele size) that ended up charging me half what this place was going to charge - and I LOVE IT! EVOLution is at least deserving of a one star rating due to the fact that they refunded my deposit. I stand by my review, and am not at all with Rodilyn's response. Any person who has dared deliver a negative review is met with a condescending response and no ownership taken by the owner or those acting in her behalf. I was told it would take a few sessions to get to where I wanted so I did not write one after the fact I was no where near what I wanted and the price was $350. Only go there if you want to be insulted. The worst service I've ever experienced. I had been going to this location for about 15 years, under L'image and Arnold's. With this new management as Evolution, I was insulted and thrown out for stating that they should've informed me that the stylist was running late. I let them know 20 minutes before my arrival I was arriving, perhaps a bit late, and I apologized. My stylist saw me immediately, but then it turned out she was working on another person at the same time. So I asked the front desk why didn't they say I had 20-30 min extra time upon arrival? I did not need to rush there for my appointment. Since my stylist was working on another person. They started shouting at me and threw me out. My PTS got triggered badly, as I felt one of them was going to physically assault me momentarily. I learned in combat to avoid physical confrontation, at all cost. So I turned away and left as promptly as I could. However I was trying to put my phone away in my purse, they kept shouting at me: don't take your time don't take your time get out get out!!! By the way: when someone is already leaving, because your customer service is dismal, you cannot throw them out...They said never to come back. Why would I want to go back to that place? Do yourselves a favor and AVOID Evolution Salon in Redondo Beach. I do not feel this is a safe space. Not to mention unprofessional! read more

I am rewriting my review because I truly believe there was a misunderstanding and I wasn't happy with the way it was handled buttttt I've been thinking about it a lot and my heart tells me to let that go. The hair stylists are truly amazing, especially Mackenzie. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect blonde filled with balayage and baby lights which blended perfectly. I have referred many people to the salon. I understood the first time was a big change and going to cost around $295 which is average, I just thought the touch up would be a little less but was the same price. I did not know this place opened in January (it is now June). I saw a sign as I was walking by and decided to stop and look at a "menu". Evolution is an environmentally conscious salon, using organic products. The salon right now is all hair (color, cut, styling) and maybe in the future will do skin care. As I was looking, I was warmly greeted by Yolanda. We were chatting and one thing led to another, and next thing I knew I was asking if someone was available to give me a blowout. I was referred to Yantha and off I went to the sinks. She did a great job: wash, and full blowout with bounce/volume. Some product was used to keep away the frizzies, but not an overuse of gels and creams. I liked to open atmosphere. Pricing is good (blowouts are $35-$45). I was looking for a place close to home where if I needed a quick style on a whim, and it looks like Evolution may be it. While they had a lot of appointments, they assured me that, for the time being, I can be a walk in for a blowout and someone will take me if they are not with another client, no problem. I usually get my haircuts here with Monica and decided to text jasmine to see her availability... unfortunately she wasn't available but was offered to get my hair done with MIlANA. I took the appointment in desperate to get my hair done. Mind you this is my first time ever getting my hair done. I sent them what I wanted. Milana also asked me to send it to her. She kept complimenting my hair. How healthy and easy it would be to work with my hair since it was my first time dying it ... WELL I didn't get what I asked for. My haircut was so uneven. My entire experience was horrible! I paid 350 for something I hated! I was offered to go get it fix? But, I'm sure I'll leave unhappy once again! They should be honest and say she f'up my hair and she won't be able to fix it... she had fresh hair and wasn't able to give me what I wanted. I literally went thinking I'd get what I want because of how healthy my hair was and ended up leaving with damage uneven tones ( just horrible job ) literally looks like something you'd find on YouTube with the title DONT DO THIS AT HOME!
